The role

As Partner Engagement Manager you will promote and develop the work of Family Fund in its reach to families. You’ll also contribute to its profile within the disability sector in Wales and with key Government/political stakeholders.

You will proactively work with a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations. Your goal will be to ensure Family Fund’s strategy is understood, and that mutually beneficial relationships are formed. In addition, you will seek out opportunities which allow Family Fund to achieve its key priorities, deliver added value for funders, and secure positive outcomes for our beneficiaries.

You will be acknowledged as a senior Family Fund representative across the disability sector, deputising for the Group CEO, or Directors on committees and at events as required.

Finally, you will build effective partnerships and proactively develop activities with key organisations across public, private and third sectors.

About you 

For this role you will need to have experience of presenting to external stakeholders and representing an organisation in a professional capacity. You’ll also need experience of managing budgets and delivering projects.

To be successful in this role you will need to be self-motivated and be able to engage positively with different teams.  You must be flexible, adaptable and resilient to work demands and change. This post is home based with regular travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the implementation of the Unloc London Strategy

• Working in partnership with the Operations Manager to ensure the delivery of the Unloc London strategy. This includes;

  • Building new relationships with local schools and colleges. 

  • Facilitating a free to access enterprise event for local schools in the borough of Westminster. 

  • Delivery of workshops and presentations, attendance at events to to promote Unloc’s programmes and initiatives to schools, colleges and community groups.

Working in partnership and building new stakeholder relationships

• Liaise and act as a primary point of contact for current key stakeholders to promote Unloc’s work. This will include Local Authorities, Education Trusts, Businesses and Community Interest Groups. 

• Implement engagement strategies to build new relationships with key stakeholders through needs assessments and stakeholder surveys to gather insights into the preferences, challenges and priorities.

• Represent Unloc in external meetings, conferences and networking opportunities. 

Organise, plan and facilitate entrepreneurial skills and career pathway projects and programmes

• Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke enterprise and career pathways events (with support from the Operations Manager) for individual businesses, grant giving bodies, schools & colleges. This generally involves designing agendas, booking speakers, managing event resources, leading individual sessions, briefing event support staff, liaising with key points of contact and managing attendance from multiple schools, colleges and partners.

Managing staff

• To line-manage multiple other members of staff in line with Unloc’s People Management Approach. This includes:

  • Providing wrap around support to individual team members when they require it.

  • Promoting a culture of excellence in programme management and facilitation.

  • Ensuring that facilitators you manage operate in line with Unloc’s policies, procedures and practices whilst instilling Unloc’s core team values.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of each staff member’s portfolio and current progress on programmes and providing a source of accountability..

  • Holding regular check-in meetings with team members.

  • Carrying out formal progress review meetings with team members every 6 months.

Senior Programme Manager (School Food Review)

This is a unique opportunity for a person with skills and experience in managing projects, programmes and partnerships to join a coalition of organisations striving to improve child health through improving the school food ecosystem.

Who we are

The School Food Review is a coalition of organisations spanning charities, educational organisations, caterers, unions and academics, committed to working together to improve children’s health by reforming the school food system. The group’s work is coordinated by founder members School Food Matters, Food Foundation, Bite Back 2030 and Chefs in Schools, and is supported by Impact on Urban Health.

The School Food Review has identified three areas of action required to deliver meaningful change – equitable access, fairer funding and quality assurance. Work across these three areas is delivered through focused working groups, drawing on members of the coalition. This includes public campaigning, advocacy and policy development.

The post will be hosted by Chefs in Schools; we are a young, ambitious charity that’s rapidly growing. Our mission is to improve kids' health, through improving school food & food education. Working in areas of high deprivation, we support and train school kitchen teams to serve the best, freshest and tastiest food possible, alongside meaningful food education. We share our learning and resources freely, aiming to inspire and enable others to follow our lead.

We’re backed by some of the biggest names in food and have ambitious targets to ensure every child has access to incredible school food and food education, setting them up for life with the skills and knowledge to feed themselves well.

About you and the role

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the work of our coalition, the School Food Review, to ensure that we are maximising the potential of the skills and expertise we can draw on from members, and driving meaningful impact. You will work closely with the School Food Review’s Operational Group, made up of key personnel from the founding organisations, to ensure that the coalition delivers on its mission. Whilst employed by Chefs in Schools, your role will be focused within the coalition.

Day to day, you will project manage operational delivery across the School Food Review coalition, ensuring efficient and effective delivery against the agreed work plan, which you will be monitoring and developing in consultation with your colleagues in the operational group. You will ensure that the governance committee and broader coalition group are kept informed of progress, promptly flagging risks and identifying suitable mitigations.

You will have an understanding of the context that we operate in, education and food sectors, and a high-level understanding of the type of work that is being delivered (eg policy, campaigning and advocacy). You will be a subject matter expert in project management. Your expertise in this area will be combined with strong people skills, and the ability to manage effective partnerships with external organisations. Experience of working with a coalition, or in partnership with multiple organisations, is crucial.

• You have a background or significant experience in working in coalition or partnership with multiple organisations

• You have interest and belief in our mission, to improve child health through improving food and food education in schools

• You have a background or significant experience in project or programme management at significant scale 

• You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead 

• You are an excellent writer and communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills 

• You are skilled in building rapport with people and strike a balance between being supportive and challenging

• Work with local environmental networks to build a picture of nature-based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working.
• Lead on developing ways to evaluate and measure the impact of the project, including engaging with those prescribing and local communities to gather stories and case studies that demonstrate the benefits to wellbeing and connectedness to nature.

Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Team Manager (Young Persons Service) on a permanent basis for two new Ofsted Registered Supported Housing Schemes in Lambeth, due to open in June 2024.

You, as the Team Manager will support a team of Housing Support Workers to support our young customers to remain in their home and take an active part in the community. Both schemes are part of Peabody's well established Young Persons and Complex Needs service in London and will provide temporary housing for young people who are homeless aged between 16 to 17 years.
