Job description

Rare & exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of RSVP, a specialist charity for children & adults subjected to sexual violence & sexual abuse. You will be responsible for fundraising & lead on securing RSVP’s income (approx. £1.6million per year), through a range of sources. You will also lead on impact and evaluation & contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation, communications and operations. You will also lead on service user involvement, working alongside people with lived experience of sexual violence & abuse to make key organisational decisions.

This senior position offers an established role in a leading specialist rape & sexual abuse support charity & value-led, relational & strategic fundraising to help RSVP achieve our mission to:

  • Support people subjected to sexual violence & abuse to thrive & enjoy a future of hope & confidence, and boldly stand with survivors & challenge victim blaming.

This is an opportunity to join us at an exciting time to ensure we maintain our recent period of growth & continue to support survivors through our specialist services. You will be in a rewarding & influential role where your success directly contributes to the protection & growth of our support services for sexually abused children & adults.

We are committed to ensuring that people subjected to sexual violence and abuse are involved at every level of RSVP & welcome applications from people with lived experience of sexual trauma who also meet the person specification. We want to work together, engage & amplify survivors’ voices throughout all our work.

If you are a successful, senior & experienced fundraiser who has demonstrated innovation, creativity & an excellent track record in fundraising, this role could be for you. You will also need to show how you will live our big-hearted, bold, believing & trauma-informed values through this role.

Purpose: Develop and lead on our fundraising to secure restricted and unrestricted income to strengthen our sustainability and to continuously improve RSVP’s effectiveness and impact.

Location: Hybrid role. Predominantly working from home but be required to work in our offices (in Birmingham city centre) 1 day/week to ensure that you feel connected to & part of our team. During your induction period we require you to do more office working to give you a good introduction to RSVP, to learn about our full range of services & to meet team members.

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer. Lisa Thompson
