mySociety is a small, purposeful charity that uses digital tools to help people participate more fully in democracy, make governments and society more transparent, and work together to address big societal challenges. We’re looking for a Digital Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our high-impact, high-volume online services – including WhatDoTheyKnow, FixMyStreet, TheyWorkForYou and WriteToThem.

This is a vital and hands-on role, responsible for making sure these services run smoothly, are compliant with key legal frameworks like GDPR and the Online Safety Act, and that complex user support cases are handled with care and accuracy. You’ll lead on governance and risk management, support a volunteer team, and work closely with product and support staff to make sure our users’ needs are consistently met.

You'll be joining a nimble, digital-first, and entirely remote team – this post is fully remote, so you can work from anywhere in the UK! You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with colleagues face-to-face at our quarterly in-person team meetups.

We’re looking for someone with a strong background in managing digital services, who’s confident with complex support workflows and has a passion for improving services that make a difference. You’ll need excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and a solid understanding of data protection and information rights.

What does the role involve?

• Keep our services running smoothly, ensuring high-risk or complex support cases are identified and resolved quickly and effectively
• Lead and motivate our user support staff and expert volunteers, creating a productive and supportive environment
• Maintain our strong record of legal and governance compliance across services
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of our services, helping them remain useful, impactful, and aligned with user needs

 

User support and operations

• Triage, prioritise and manage all incoming support queries across services
• Ensure time-sensitive and legally significant cases (e.g. GDPR requests, Online Safety Act reports) are tracked, escalated, and resolved appropriately
• Manage our support workflows and volunteer contributions to deliver timely, high-quality assistance
• Collaborate with product and service owners to share insights and identify areas for improvement
• Help improve help guides and user-facing support documentation

 

Governance

• Maintain and update service policies, processes, and risk management protocols
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards (including GDPR and media law)
• Monitor risk and report issues to senior management
• Coordinate regular internal meetings, reporting on service performance and operational updates

 

Requirements

Benefits

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a dynamic creative Content and Campaigns Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of our programme content across the globe. This role will work closely with the Global Programs Manager in the creation of key content and curriculums, strategising, delivering improvements, implementing campaigns and optimising processes. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Programme Development: To support the Global Programs Manager in ensuring the creation and execution of innovative programs that align with the charity's goals, for audiences both on-line and in-person. 

• Content Planning: Use of various techniques to develop program plans e.g. storyboards etc.

• Content Creation: Write and edit engaging and concise short and long form copy for various content (e.g. workbooks, animations, scripts, training guides), working with creatives/stakeholders as necessary. 

• Consistency: Maintaining a consistent style, quality, and tone of voice across all content.

• Implementation: Coordinate with various stakeholders in the delivery of programs, including addressing translation requirements and contextualising a particular region. 

• Localisation: Ensuring content is culturally appropriate and effective.

• Evaluation: Monitor and analyse programme performance, collaborating with the Event Managers to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

• Content Distribution: Managing content distribution to ensure strong traction and engagement.

• Content Campaigns: Develop and manage comprehensive communication campaigns, including digital, social media, and email marketing as required.

• Process Optimisation: Streamline on-line and in-person programme processes related to program development and delivery.

• Reporting: Generate detailed reports on program performance and progress.

Working in our small Income Generation Team, you will have responsibility for writing compelling proposals and reports that showcase the impact of our work. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with current and potential funders, building and stewarding our restricted income pipeline which you will own.

• Write compelling funding proposals and cases for support, from £5000 to £100,000s

The purpose of the role is to lead an outstanding IT service across the Trust and cultivate a high performing team that supports all staff, people we support and other stakeholders.

Reporting to the Resource Director, the role will be key in supporting the digital transformation agenda, providing IT and data expertise that will enable higher quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and maximise efficiencies within the services that we provide. 

Main Responsibilities   

• Developing the IT strategy in alignment with the Trust wide strategic goals and evolving digital transformation priorities;

• Oversee the Trust’s approach to Cyber security, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice. Being the subject matter expert for the organisation.

As Risk Manager, you will be supporting our Head of Risk & Assurance in the management of risk and compliance across our global network. You will help ensure our key organisational risks are being proactively identified, managed and reported to safeguard delivery of our vision, mission and strategic aims.

Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders across a variety of geographies and cultures, you will help employees capture and consider the implications of our key organisational risks through regular engagement, oversight of our risk registers and providing targeted reporting and analysis.

Are you an experienced paid digital expert who is also passionate about nature? We're looking for someone to join our membership marketing team and deliver income-generating recruitment campaigns.

You will have proven expertise of managing the delivery of paid search, social and display advertising using a range of targeting techniques including macro demographic and internet-based targeting, as well as micro audience segmentation-based targeting and re targeting techniques. You will manage the media agency at delivery level to ensure this activity is planned and monitored closely and optimised regularly to maximise impact and ROI.

You will also work alongside direct marketing managers to integrate with paid offline and DM/EM campaigns and with the website team to optimise conversion across the join journey.

Tutorials are delivered online to groups of up to 4 students via our bespoke online learning platform.

Tutorials generally take place between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on weekday evenings, with flexibility around the schedules of our tutors and students.

This is a new role within a growing fundraising team which is aiming to significantly grow income to achieve our growth strategy. Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, your main responsibility will be to develop relationships with individual and community donors, and legacy pledgers. Your personalised approach and friendly manner will help them feel valued, understand the life changing difference they make and deepen their connection to our work reducing loneliness in later life. As part of your role, you will also have opportunity to support the Individual Giving Manager with fundraising activities.
 
Key responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for supporters and build good relationships with them - respond to queries, take donations, and support them in their fundraising.
• Develop a programme to regularly thank donors for their support and find out more about them, including a schedule of supporter phone calls and sending a donor survey.
• Make sure all individual, community and legacy gifts are recorded correctly on our CRM and thanked within a timely manner. Look for new ways to thank donors in a way that surprises and delights.
• Develop and implement personalised stewardship plans for donors and legacy pledgers to provide regular updates that demonstrate their impact or help to build engagement ahead of a fundraising appeal.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to communicate with one-off donors about how they can set up a regular gift, and to regular givers about how they can increase their gift.
• Provide support on the production of fundraising appeals, identifying potential stories to use, writing briefs and liaising with suppliers, producing mailing lists and analysing results.
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement marketing plans for challenge events, community, in memory and legacy fundraising, planning regular content throughout the year and identifying key times to promote specific activity.
• Look for opportunities to incorporate legacy messaging into other communications with donors, volunteers and older people.
• Support on the development of new KPI and reporting frameworks, and help to update results for post-campaign and ad-hoc data analysis projects.
• Keep up to date with developments in direct marketing and fundraising practise. Comply with the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice and charity/fundraising law at all times.
