As PR & Marketing Manager, you’ll join our newly formed Income Generation and Engagement Team — a dynamic group driving innovation, brand growth, and audience engagement across the charity. Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, you’ll have the freedom and trust to review our current approach and design a fresh, strategic programme of marketing and PR activity that truly reflects our values, our mission, and our ambitions.

With 50 years of history, Greyhound Trust has long been at the heart of helping retired greyhounds find loving homes. As the charity evolves to meet the changing landscape, this role will be pivotal in driving a step-change in how we communicate — raising awareness of the growing homing challenge, inspiring new audiences to get involved, and supporting our vital income generation work.

You’ll bring at least three years of proven experience in both strategic and hands-on PR and marketing — from planning and content creation to media relations, digital engagement, brand development and taking a lead on key events, such as Crufts and our annual Great Greyhound Gathering.

You’ll understand how effective PR and marketing can both protect and enhance a charity’s brand while also supporting income generation and engagement goals. You’ll bring the confidence and experience to balance these priorities and work collaboratively to achieve them.

Confident working across multiple audiences and channels, you’ll combine creative storytelling with data-driven insight to deliver measurable impact.

As a national charity, based in Surrey, but represented across the UK via a developing branch network (often volunteer led) you will need to have experience of working with a large and diverse range of passionate and knowledgeable stakeholders. 

This is a role for a person who enjoys variety, autonomy, and responsibility — someone who can balance strategic thinking with a willingness to get stuck in and make things happen. Our charity has grown rapidly over the last five years, with each year bringing new faces and new opportunities. This year, we’re excited to be welcoming a Fundraising Manager to join our team.

About you 

Our ideal candidate is a dependable communicator who enjoys the day-to-day delivery of communications - planning and scheduling content, creating and posting on social media, drafting newsletters, updating the website, and producing simple graphics and videos. They are organised, detail-oriented, and help keep our communications running smoothly. They will also understand how to communicate across different geographies and audiences, and bring some familiarity with the UN system, as well as experience working in INGO or global health advocacy contexts.

The role 

Key components of the role include: 

• Social media content development - collaborate with internal subject specialists to produce consistent and frequent on-brand written and visual content for social channels, in support of brand and advocacy goals. You’ll use Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and AgoraPulse for this. 
• Email - develop, write and send UnitedGMH’s regular email newsletter, working with internal staff to source news, updates and relevant content tailored for email subscribers.
• Website development - develop, maintain and update content for the UnitedGMH website - including uploading content and editing pages.
• Social media channel and community management - lead on day-to-day management and posting on UnitedGMH social media channels, including X, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Manage paid social campaigns where required. Use monitoring tools to manage social media comments (organic and paid).
• Brand guardian: Be a steward of the UnitedGMH brand, helping to ensure consistent application of visual identity and tone of voice across all external organisational outputs, maintaining high standards of design.
• Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting - create regular analytic reports for social, website and email channels. 
• Editorial planning and communications calendar management - lead on the maintenance of the organisation’s communications calendar, ensuring content across channels is planned-in-advance of key advocacy moments. 
• Team support - support the communications team through project management, meeting management, processing supplier invoices, keeping journalist lists up-to-date, and other responsibilities where needed.
• Ad-hoc support for the Global Mental Health Action Network - you’ll also provide a supporting function as needed for the GMHAN team, including tasks related to website and social management, plus others where needed. 

Requirements 

• Understanding, and experience in use, of online channels (incl. website content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress and Squarespace, a broad spectrum of social media platforms and email marketing through Mailchimp) 
• An excellent copywriter, with demonstrable experience crafting copy for different audiences - including for social media and email newsletters
• Strong research and proofreading skills, adapted to key audiences
• Comfortable prioritising and delivering on multiple pieces of work against tight timeframes
• Highly organised individual with experience of team administration support 
• An understanding of using digital project management tools e.g. Trello
• An interest in mental health, advocacy and international development
• Strong relationship management skills
• Willingness to travel at least twice per annum and more if required

Desirable 

• Experience working in an advocacy / international NGO environment within a fast-paced globally distributed staff team
• Demonstrable experience in working with journalists
• A communications-related qualification or vocational experience
• Additional language skills (note the position requires fluent English)

The Communications Coordinator will support colleagues across the team to deliver engaging, accessible and effective communications that help prevent child sexual abuse. This is a rewarding role in a fast-paced, collaborative team, which will bring a greater awareness of our work and help to deliver real impact in the prevention of offline and online child sexual abuse across the UK.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our digital channels, campaigns and content creation - from social media and newsletters to website updates and printed materials. Here are some of the skills we’re looking for and we’re happy to support the right candidate to grow and learn on the job:

• Confident using social media to reach different audiences and be able to design multimedia content that’s engaging and on-brand.
• A strong writer and editor, able to tailor content for different platforms and audiences - from short social posts to longer-form blogs and newsletters.
• Familiar with website content management systems (like WordPress) and ideally have some experience with paid digital campaigns (e.g. Google Ads, Meta).
• Organised and proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks and support colleagues across different projects and teams.
• Comfortable using data and analytics to evaluate and improve communications.
• A team player with a positive attitude, keen to learn and contribute to our organisation’s mission.

You’ll be energetic, curious, and solutions-focused, with a good eye for detail and a passion for delivering impactful, creative communications across our platforms and channels. You’ll be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

Location: Based in London office, E1, with the team meeting in person to collaborate once per week. There is also the expectation of travel as required (usually 2-4 times per month) across London (and potentially) the UK to meet with donors. About the role
Crisis is in the first year of our new strategy, and philanthropy is critical to achieving our organisational goals — especially the £20m Housing Supply campaign, an ambitious initiative at the heart of our strategy to deliver genuinely affordable homes and end homelessness for good

You would use your proven ability to build strong relationships and secure four- to five-figure gifts to manage a dynamic portfolio of major donors and prospects, applying your understanding of moves management and the major donor solicitation cycle to engage, inspire, and retain support. Confident in working with high-profile individuals, you would use your excellent communication and influencing skills to deliver compelling cases for support, represent Crisis with professionalism, and create meaningful donor experiences.

Proactive and creative in your approach, you would work collaboratively across teams, integrate digital techniques to enhance engagement, and measure success against KPIs and targets. Above all, your work would be driven by a deep commitment to Crisis’ purpose and values—equity, inclusion, and the belief that together we can end homelessness for good.

About you

We are looking for an ambitious and relationship-led fundraiser who is passionate about making a tangible difference and inspired by Crisis’ mission to end homelessness. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of moves management and the major donor solicitation cycle, using these principles to strategically cultivate, solicit, and steward high-value supporters. With a proven track record of securing four- and five-figure gifts, you will be confident in engaging and influencing high-value and high-profile individuals, understanding their motivations and inspiring their confidence in Crisis’ work. You will combine excellent communication and influencing skills with creativity and independence, managing a dynamic portfolio of donors while working collaboratively across teams to deliver outstanding supporter experiences. Highly organised, results-driven, and innovative in your approach, you will be motivated by achieving targets and growing income.
