Job description
  • Are you an experienced fundraiser with a track record of maximising income through digital channels?
  • Do you thrive on delivering impactful communications and excellent customer service?
  • The UK Sepsis Trust are seeking a Digital Fundraising Officer to work with a successful team to develop and deliver its digital fundraising strategy and support fundraisers’ activities.

Digital is at the heart of our strategy and the DFO will work closely with the Head of Fundraising to recruit new supporters and retain existing fundraisers. We’re looking for an individual with a passion for communication, technology and delivering excellent service. This is a fixed-term six month, home-based opportunity offering a competitive salary.

In this role you will:

Fundraiser stewardship and events

  1. Steward UKST’s fundraisers and support them through a range of events and activities, ensuring they have a first-rate experience
  2. Work closely with colleagues to manage fundraising events
  3. Maintain information relating to community and corporate fundraisers within the CRM (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge)
  4. Co-manage the fundraising inbox
  5. Undertake any other duties as required within the job purpose and grading.


  1. Grow the charity's digital fundraising capabilities
  2. Create and implement digital fundraising events and campaigns to increase income and secure long-term support
  3. Produce compelling, effective digital assets (audio, video etc.) and adverts
  4. Create engaging and impactful digital content to recruit supporters and encourage retention
  5. Produce resources to support the fundraiser journey – e.g. digital fundraising pack
  6. Monitor and analyse performance data (insight and analytics), and produce reports and recommendations
  7. Optimise activity across digital channels to maximise impact.

We are looking for candidates who have…

Proven experience of:

  1. Driving income through digital campaigns and events
  2. Recruiting and supporting fundraisers – community (essential) and corporate (desirable)
  3. Managing digital fundraising campaigns from concept through to evaluation
  4. Measuring, interpreting and evaluating campaign results
  5. Creating compelling digital content (audio, images, video) and campaigns to recruit fundraisers
  6. Producing resources and materials to support fundraisers
  7. Working with and managing digital agencies (desirable)

Knowledge and skills

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present with confidence and produce written materials to a high standard
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  3. Excellent problem solving and research skills
  4. Demonstrable working knowledge of:
    • Fundraising CRMs (preferably Raiser’s Edge)
    • Google Analytics and AdWords
    • Wordpress and HTML
    • Facebook Fundraisers
    • Audio, image and video production and editing tools, preferably including Photoshop and InDesign.
