We are River Action

We are a small and agile campaigning organisation on a mission to rescue Britain’s rivers from a toxic cocktail of agricultural, sewage and industrial pollution. We support community action, galvanise and mobilise public opinion, influence government policy, and call out destructive industrial practices to incentivise changes that end pollution. 

We are building a talented team of positive disrupters and community mobilisers to deliver our strategy to urgently protect and restore our rivers for the benefit of community and wildlife.

Britain’s rivers are our life support system and they are dying. We need urgent action to bring them back to life.

We are looking for highly engaged people who share our passion for rivers, wildlife and people who bring a creative, collaborative and investigative approach to campaigning. For this role we are looking for a confident and resilient community organiser who can build strong relationships to support communities to create change locally.

What you’ll be doing:

The Communities Coordinator will support community groups to campaign for clean rivers at a local level. By facilitating grass roots action you’ll be galvanising a strong and powerful network of community activists that have the power to create change both locally and nationally. You’ll be responsible for taking River Action’s national campaign strategy to a local level. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and the wider team to develop a Community Toolkit (including advice for activists, and guidance and services for communications, fundraising, legal support and citizen science projects) to support communities as well as provide strategic support to empower community activists to campaign for clean rivers. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and wider team to amplify the stories of those taking action at a local level and connect campaign groups to the wider national agenda. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver our strategy ensuring our programme of community engagement is equitable, diverse and inclusive. You’ll be working closely with other organisations to ensure our community support compliments the work of others and meets the needs of community groups we work with. 

Main Duties 

• Contribute to the development and implementation of River Action’s campaign strategy.

• Develop River Action’s Community Toolkit as a package of support for local campaign groups. 

• Identify community groups within river catchments areas River Action is working and build positive and impactful relationships..

• Organise site visits to develop good relationships and in-depth understanding of local issues impacting river health.

• Convene and align local stakeholders around river catchment and regional campaigns.

• Facilitate local community groups’ campaigns and provide support in line with our toolkit’s support package.

• Facilitate the creation of community group citizen science projects, integrated within a national system for gathering and sharing evidence of pollution.

• Organise community crowdfunding for citizen science and communications.

• Plan and host webinars, training sessions and online and in person events.

• Develop good working relationships with regulators including Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Environment and Protection Agency. 

• Support the CEO and Campaigns Manager to identify and deliver legal challenges at a local level.

• Maintain and develop partnerships and working relationships with other key groups and stakeholders working in similar areas of work to River Action.

• Identify opportunities to engage, empower and expand River Action’s network of supporters. 

• Support the Communications Coordinator to create inspiring and engaging digital media content and news stories, including taking photographs and videos and conducting interviews.

• Support the Campaigns Manager and Communication Coordinator in responding to the reactive news agenda.

• Contribute to the Monitoring and Evaluation system for demonstrating impact of River Action’s community engagement work, reporting against KPIs. 

• Contribute to fundraising efforts particularly crowdfunding and drafting of funding proposals to support Campaigns and Fundraising Teams and the charity’s mission.

• Work as a motivated and collaborative team player within a fast-paced team.

• Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager or any other member of the River Action team.

CamSight is a respected charity that supports people living with low vision and blindness in Cambridgeshire to live the lives they choose. The charity offers an holistic service ensuring any person with a vision impairment gets the support they need, when they need it.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.

This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled

• Contribute to effective payroll administration ensuing information is shared with the Finance Officer in a timely manner, and collaborating with the People Director to address and rectify any issues and process improvements

2. User journey optimisation

· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.

3. Increasing reach and traffic generation

· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.

· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).

4. Testing to improve results continually 

· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.

· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.

5. Digital project management

· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.

6. Campaign support

· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.

7. Gathering community feedback

· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.

8. Supplier collaboration

About you

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Engagement Manager to head up our Digital Team, taking the lead on driving forward the organisation’s digital marketing and communications. You’ll work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver the digital elements of the wider marketing and communications strategy, and line manage senior officers who lead the operations and development of our website, social media, email marketing and paid advertising activities. 

You’ll play a lead role in maximising digital marketing opportunities, raising the profile of the organisation, communicating information, services and campaigns to new and existing supporters, and using insights and data to drive engagement and growth across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to expert for major initiatives that require digital support, from communication campaigns to change projects. You’ll also bring insights into the latest trends and developments in the digital marketing landscape.

You’ll be a digital all-rounder with enough hands-on knowledge and experience to support your operational leads, and the ability to think strategically, guiding the team and driving forward new ideas and initiatives. 

Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £30,753 - £32,091 (Depending on location)
Location: Remote (UK) with visits to our London & Bristol offices as required.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Young Lives vs Cancer as we set up a new Brand Marketing and Communications function including a team of digital experts.

We are looking to recruit two Digital Marketing Officers to join the newly created Digital Engagement team working to deliver exceptional digital activity that delivers against organisational objectives. One successful candidate will lead on supporting social channels and the other on email marketing, however both roles will be expected to work across all digital channels and cover for each other as necessary.

You will work on digital campaigns across email, organic social and paid digital marketing channels, including PPC and social media. This role will be vital in setting up a new digital hub of expertise within the organisation and helping to drive forward the best use of digital channels.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work with stakeholder teams to develop digital marketing campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels delivering against KPI’s for income, campaigning and brand awareness.
• Work closely with colleagues creating content and landing pages on the website to optimise supporter journeys through digital channels
• Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns to report on key KPI’s and metrics. Using tools within social media platforms and Google analytics.
• Monitor and follow trends within digital and innovation in order to improve the organisation’s digital presence and activities

Scope of the role: 

The Digital Content & Communications Officer is responsible for creating content across FEI’s communications channels, inspiring individuals organisations alike to get involved in the face equality movement. 

This is an exciting new role within the organisation and the ideal candidate will be creative, passionate about communications, content and digital and looking to build their expertise in a growing organisation with a global footprint. There will be freedom for creativity and trying out new ideas, with a focus on personal development through training and ongoing support by working closely with the newly promoted Campaigns Manager who previously fulfilled a similar role.

• Social media – Written, graphic and video content to be produced to support FEI’s mission. With the support from the Campaigns Manager, the Communications Officer will lead on developing engaging content to amplify the voices of the facial difference community. Accessible content standards are essential.  
   

• Graphic/video editing – Using tools such as Canva or CapCut to create and edit content.  
   

• Website updates – All FEI staff have access and responsibility to collectively update our WordPress site in line with their role.

We are now seeking a Digital Communications Lead (maternity cover) who will develop and deliver our digital communications to build awareness, understanding and engagement with Rewilding Britain and our mission. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast growing charity and directly contribute to the growth of the rewilding movement.

Job purpose: 

To lead the development and delivery of Rewilding Britain's digital communications output, to inform, engage and activate audiences in support of our charitable aims.

Objectives of the role: 

Social media

• In line with our organisational objectives, lead on building our profile, reputation and engagement on social media with key audiences.

• Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals, and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members. 

• Ensure that Rewilding Britain is using the best possible tools and techniques, by drawing on your own knowledge of the digital landscape and trends and staying up to date with changing trends.

• Guide colleagues across the organisation to capture and create social content in order to maximise opportunities to engage others with rewilding

• Take responsibility for monitoring social media and community building, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to social media enquiries. 

• Support with the development of social media and other digital policies and style guides. 
   

Email marketing

• Develop and deliver a schedule of email marketing for the organisation, including for fundraising and political engagement campaigns.

• Optimise email marketing by A/B testing content regularly to maximise performance and by making design and content improvements as the digital landscape evolves. 

• Use audience segmentation in support of campaigns, drawing on data from our CRM.
   

Website content & maintenance

• Work with the Content Manager and other team members to create new and updated web content in line with the Content Strategy, that is engaging, accurate and on-brand.

• Ensure web content is optimised for SEO and usability, advising and training staff on best practice.

• Contribute to team efforts to enhance the website as an engagement tool, including liaising with agencies where relevant. 

Other

• Track, monitor and report on digital activity to prove impact and maximise effectiveness. 

• Oversee/brief colleagues and freelancers, where relevant, to deliver discrete pieces of digital content for Rewilding Britain's channels.

• Contribute digital expertise to wider organisational projects and activities in support of our objectives. 

• Support the team in delivering Rewilding Britain webinars and events.
   

Essential skills, experience and behaviours

Experience

• At least three years' experience in a digital management role in a comparable organisation, overseeing digital communications to further organisational objectives. 

• Proven experience in managing social media channels in a professional role.

• Experience in producing and optimising email marketing (ideally using Mailchimp).

• Experience in managing and optimising website content.

• Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital monitoring tools.

• In-depth experience and understanding of current social and digital communications tools, landscape and trends.

Skills

• Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.

• Skills in creative content developments, such as video and photo editing, ideally using Adobe Creative Suite. 

• Skilled digital planner, with a track record of inspiring and leading on digital.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This role is as maternity cover (9 months with possibility of extension).

This is a full time 5 day (35 hour) a week position, but we are open to a conversation with candidates who are seeking a role of 28-35 hours a week.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

The salary is £35-40,000 f.t.e. per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.

We are a virtual team who work from home and/or co-working spaces. We will support you to achieve a suitable virtual working environment. Some meetings are held face to face across Britain, so a willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays is desirable.

About the Team

This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh.

Our Practitioner Led Assessment Service is the entry point for our beneficiaries seeking support from the Charity. Our Assessment Practitioners work in partnership with our beneficiaries to identify goals, individual needs and appropriate solutions.

The team provide advice, information and support and work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to ensure our beneficiaries are offered the right support at the right time.

Reporting into the Beneficiary Experience and Continuity Lead you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the practitioner led assessment service, holding a small case load and reviewing and resolving complex cases with the team. 

You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders across health improvement and rehabilitation services, to ensure services are integrated, person centred, outcome focused and based on an ethos of recovery.
