GoodWork is a youth employment and social mobility charity, creating fairer opportunities for young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. This is an exciting opportunity to join GoodWork at a pivotal moment in our growth. Founded in 2022, we’re a fast-growing organisation with real impact and big ambitions to drive systemic change for the community we serve.
About the role
This is a key strategic hire for GoodWork. As our Operations Manager, you'll play a central role in how the organisation runs, grows and delivers impact. Reporting directly to our CEO and joining our Leadership Team, you'll bring structure, pace and clarity across GoodWork, helping turn our strategy into effective day-to-day delivery.
You'll be the only person at GoodWork dedicated full-time to operations - plugged in to what's happening across every team, helping the CEO, trustees and staff connect the dots and making sure GoodWork runs coherently and efficiently. This is a broad, stretching role, but as we’re a small organisation, a lot of the job is rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into the work yourself, and we're looking for someone who finds real satisfaction in both the bigger picture and the detail.
You'll have real ownership and influence across the organisation, including:
We’re a small team, which means we need everyone to pick up some admin. For this role, this will include managing our Shared Mailbox, processing DBS checks and keeping the office well stocked and organised. As GoodWork grows, we expect this role - and the wider operations function - to grow and evolve too, including the potential to build a small team around you in time.
As our first Operations Manager, you'll be building this function from the ground up. We'll work with you to prioritise what matters most, but we'll also expect you to bring initiative, judgement and high standards from the start.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who's excited by the chance to help build the operational engine of a growing, ambitious charity - someone who enjoys making organisations work better, brings structure, judgement and pace, holds a high bar for quality and follow-through, and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
You'll need to be a self-starter with a proactive, hands-on attitude who wants to get stuck in and solve problems as they arise. You don't need to have experience solving every issue that comes up, but you should be a generalist at heart, comfortable with uncertainty and learning as you go. A growth mindset is essential.
Just as important as your experience will be how you work. We're looking for someone who's motivated by mission, energised by growth and comfortable playing a visible, trusted role at the heart of the organisation. You won't need experience in the early careers, youth or education sector, but you will need to connect with GoodWork's purpose and show real commitment to helping us increase opportunity for young people from underserved communities.
We work with a diverse group of young people from underserved communities. We particularly encourage applications from minoritised ethnic candidates and those who have lived experience relevant to our programme, particularly non-graduates and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Then join Shelter as Senior Fundraising Campaign Manager and lead the delivery of our flagship integrated fundraising campaign, the Winter Appeal.
About the role
As Senior Fundraising Campaign Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of Shelter’s 2026 Winter Appeal — our largest integrated fundraising campaign and a vital contributor to the organisation’s financial sustainability.
Working across Income Generation and with teams throughout Shelter and Shelter Scotland, you will bring together fundraising, media, marketing, digital, creative, campaigns, services and retail activity to maximise income, supporter acquisition and longer-term value.
Alongside delivering the 2026 appeal against ambitious targets, you will work with the Head of Planning and Project Management to develop a multi-year Winter Appeal strategy. You will oversee campaign governance, coordinate activity across multiple workstreams and ensure that marketing plans, media activity and creative content are fully aligned with the campaign’s audiences and objectives.
You will identify opportunities, anticipate challenges and ensure risks or barriers are understood, escalated and resolved at the earliest opportunity. You will also own key project documentation, including campaign plans, governance arrangements, risk registers and stakeholder reports.
As part of the role, you will line manage a Senior Project Management Executive, supporting their work across content development, creative delivery and performance reporting. Following the campaign, you will lead a full evaluation and establish clear, timebound improvement actions to strengthen future Winter Appeals.
You may also support other organisational campaigns, acting as a fundraising representative and ensuring income generation is embedded within their development and delivery.
Apply to be part of our team and help bring colleagues and supporters together in the fight for home.
About you
You will have experience project managing complex, cross-organisational income-generating projects and understand the opportunities and challenges involved in bringing multiple teams and priorities together.
You will also have experience developing and delivering multi-year fundraising strategies, balancing long-term strategic thinking with the detailed, hands-on delivery needed to achieve results.
You will be:
Experience of leading multi-million-pound campaigns and working across fundraising, marketing, media or other integrated campaign disciplines would be particularly valuable.
Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family-friendly policies, a competitive pension scheme and interest-free travel loans.
Our employees also have access to flexible working practices, salary sacrifice schemes, a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, a cycle-to-work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
We are happy to talk about flexible working and personal growth, and we are committed to creating a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based on your merit.

About Shelter
Home is a human right. It’s our foundation and where we thrive. Yet every day, millions of people are being devastated by the housing emergency.
We exist to defend the right to a safe home. Because home is everything.
We need ambitious, passionate people to join us. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
Our enemy is the social injustice at the core of the escalating housing emergency. To win this fight, we must be representative of the people we are here to help and those who support our movement.
In all our people decisions, we take pride in being inclusive, equitable and transparent. We are committed to combating racism both within and outside Shelter, and we welcome you on our journey to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation.
We recognise that people from marginalised groups may face additional barriers throughout their careers. Research has shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply for roles unless they feel they meet every requirement.
If you are excited about this role but your experience does not align perfectly with every part of the job description, please do not let that stop you from applying. We encourage you to tell us how your skills, knowledge, behaviours and experience would support your success in the role.
