About The Role
This role will use all elements of digital communication to put supporters at the heart of our communications work. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role involves overseeing all aspects of digital communications including developing our website, overseeing email communications with supporters, and managing our social media platforms (including paid for social media advertising).
You will need experience in managing all digital channels for a charity or a similar organisation as well as an understanding of the needs of different audiences. But, most importantly, you will have a passion for creating and sharing engaging and relevant content across multiple channels. You will be keen to test new approaches and quickly learn what is working. You will also have a passion for amplifying the voices of the families we work with and a commitment to diversifying the stories we tell and ensuring that voices from minority or marginalised communities are heard.
You will combine the ability to manage the technical side of maintaining websites and social media accounts, with an understanding of the power of the right words and images to communicate our messages.

About this role
The Digital Acquisition Officer is a key member of the Mass Engagement team and part of the wider Development team. The Mass Engagement team exists to raise awareness of Reprieve’s work, shift public opinion and to inspire support. Your role will be to engage members of the public, grow the Reprieve’s community and help establish our supporter base.
It is an exciting time for our team, as we launch their first mass engagement strategy to promote the long-term growth of the programme. Digital fundraising boomed between 2020 and 2021 but has faced challenges in 2022 and 2023. You will support our Industry Forum, working with existing and new members to broaden the group.
The DPA aims to work through partners in delivering to our core mission and, as such, we retain only a small core team with support from our PR agency. As such, you’ll lead on delivering our policy and public affairs work, from briefing MPs to developing our policy positions.
Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. Given the need to attend meetings in Westminster and Whitehall, you will need to live within commuting distance of London.
Key focus areas
- Building relationships with public, private and third sector organisations, including the wider DPA community.
- Working to convene and collaborate with organisations and individuals committed to ending digital poverty.
- Work with colleagues across local, regional and national governments and across political parties to advocate for policies to promote digital inclusion.
- Undertaking research and analysis to understand digital poverty and the impact of policies to address it.
- Managing policy and research projects including the ongoing development of the national delivery plan and supporting ‘proof of concept’ projects.
- Developing commercial and research partnerships with organisations and supporting the development of the industry forum.
- Communicating the DPA vision and perspective through verbal and written communication.

Role Summary
With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Development of a Try Dry local product

With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area

Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up

Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer

Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience
Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’

Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls

With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising

Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate

Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion

Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact

Are you passionate about supporting older people to have better access to online services? Do you have the skills to inform and coach older people to learn and improve their digital skills and knowledge?
Age UK Sutton is looking for someone to join the Let’s Connect programme team as a Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator supporting older people to develop digital skills and improve their access to digital services.
You will champion the service and be responsible for working with people from initial referral completing assessments to understand a person’s situation, creating a goals-based plan to support clients to access digital skills training through group and 121 offers. You will work with older people to enable them to become more confident in using digital equipment such as tablets and smartphones through arranging and delivering digital skills training sessions in both group and 121 settings.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, no two days will be the same and you will be making a valuable difference to older people living in Sutton.
