About this exciting opportunity
Our successful candidate will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies including Probation, Prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users is a key element of the role.

Youth Development Officer - Cardiff / Wrexham

Based: Cardiff/Wrexham (occasional home working)

We are seeking a Youth Development Officer for Young Adults in our Children and Young People’s Department to oversee the development and delivery of our opportunities for Young Adults.
Due to external funding available until 30th September 2021, we have this new and exciting role for someone who is dedicated to improving services for Young People aged 18-25. St John Ambulance Cymru runs two successful programmes for Children and Young People, Badgers (5-10) and Cadets (10-18). Young Adults are offered two award schemes – the Amalfi Challenge and The Duke of Edinburgh. The post holder will be given flexibility to influence policy and procedure and even create their own Young Adult provision should they wish. The role will support our current work and seek to provide new opportunities and promote good practice. The Youth Development Officer: Young Adults will be a point of contact, advice and support for the organisation’s Young Adults.
The post holder will be a confident creative problem solver who can bring lots of new ideas to our charity. You’ll be passionate and ready to hit the ground running. You’ll have experience of working with Young People and be able to bring knowledge and experience to our evolving team.

St John Ambulance Cymru is Wales’ leading first aid charity. We believe that everyone who needs first aid should receive it. We’re looking for someone with lots of service design experience to lead the practice of Service Design and its community of practice at Citizens Advice. The role sits within our Customer Journey team, which is at the heart of the organisation’s ambition to deliver our vision for 2022.
In Customer Journey we often design digital services and products, but we’re not limited to digital. Our Service Designers work on discoveries, prototypes and continuous improvements that span the breadth of our services. We believe Service Design is about understanding, translating and joining up user and organisational needs into the end-to-end design of valuable services - no matter the channel.
In this role, you’ll lead a multi-level team of service designers working in multifunctional teams across a variety of services and products, in partnership with development and service delivery teams across Citizens Advice: you will create the right conditions for Service Designers to work effectively, set the strategic direction of their practice, assure the quality of our work, and ensure we always design with all users in mind. You’ll work in close collaboration with user researchers, product and content designers, and teams across Citizens Advice.

What is Kickstart?
The Kickstart Scheme is the UK government’s flagship employability scheme for young people in response to the COVID pandemic and provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit. Objectives:
To help young people make the most of their Kickstart placement and build the skills and confidence to sustain employment beyond.
What will I do?
As a Prince’s Trust Executive, you will be delivering a combination of group workshops, webinars and 1-to-1 support in employability and personal and social development. You will also provide ‘buddy training’ for employers to help them support young people during their placements.
You must be comfortable delivering programmes on virtual platforms, as all sessions will be delivered virtually. You may at some point, be asked to occasionally deliver face-to-face, but there are no plans for this anytime soon.

Senior Project Manager

JobSense is a collaborative employment support project (RNID being the lead partner), which supports people who are deaf or have hearing loss and people who are blind or have sight loss, into volunteering and paid work. The c£3m project is funded by the Wales European Funding Office (WEFO).
This senior role will lead the JobSense project by planning and overseeing all aspects of project delivery; including co-ordinating the partnership, monitoring progress against planned performance, ensuring key milestones are met and managing a complex budget, requiring stringent reporting and compliance.
The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills, be confident in managing a large budget with excellent attention to detail and have demonstrable experience of successfully monitoring and managing a diverse project. Experience of European funding requirements, or the ability to quickly learn and apply the requirements, is essential. Familiarity with the employment policy landscape in Wales is advantageous.
