This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in local communities. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues in the Social Value Team, the Charities Liaison Team and wider Group functions, playing a key part in ensuring our initiatives continue to improve lives and places. You will assist LHCPG’s Group and Regional Business Units in implementing the broader Social Value Strategy across our products, services and projects, whilst collaborating with associate partners and companies planning community projects and supporting them to report on the outcomes of their social value plans.

You will also be:

• Supporting LHCPG’s two charities Lintel Trust and Lifting Lives
• Helping develop policies, procedures, tools and resources for social value management and reporting
• Gathering data to report on achievements and social impact

This permanent position will support the South of the UK and will involve regular travel throughout the region. The successful candidate will be expected to offer hands-on support in various locations and collaborating with teams and clients across multiple regions. The proposed start date will be in July 2026. 

We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating and engaging effectively with various teams and stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and evidence proficiency in IT, including familiarity with relevant systems and software packages.  You can confidently present content to colleagues and clients and turn strategic plans into measurable results.  You will also have: 

• A degree in a relevant subject or relevant experience in corporate socialresponsibilityor social impact and innovation
• Knowledge of social value approaches and measurement frameworks used in the public sector
• Demonstrable understanding of the importance of social value

Role Purpose

GDI Hub CIC is seeking an experienced PA/ Team Assistant to provide high-level support to its CEO and Academic Director as well as support the wider team.

The successful candidate will enable the CEO and Academic Director to be more effective by providing proactive administrative, communication, and operational support. The role will act as a key coordination point across the organisation, ensuring priorities are managed, diaries are coordinated, and that the CEO and Academic Director’s time is used strategically.

In addition, the candidate will also support the wider GDI Hub CIC team, particularly Operations, Comms and Project Delivery.

Across all elements of the role, the successful candidate will need to work with multiple colleagues and balance competing priorities. Responsibilities will include diary and time management, handling written communication, arranging national and international travel and logistics, event coordination, administrative support, and meeting and document preparation.  This role will work closely with members of the GDI Hub team, with some interactions with external partners, collaborators and stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate with strong organisation, administrative and communication skills. The ability to work in a changing environment is essential, as is a coordinated approach and willingness to take on new tasks.

Successful candidates will need to be proactive and organised with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Personal assistant

• Manage complex calendars, scheduling internal and external meetings and setting reminders
• Prioritise appointments and resolve scheduling conflicts where these arise
• Ensure the CEO/Academic Directors time is used efficiently and plan for commitments in advance
• Track director credit/debit card spending and supply timely copies of receipts as required
• Collate/ process expense claims
• Monitor and manage inbox as required

Travel & Logistics

• Arrange international travel, accommodation, transport and itineraries for both Directors and project staff
• Arrange travel visas for Directors
• Manage travel alterations and resolve issues promptly

Administrative Support

• Implement and maintain procedures/ administrative systems
• Support CEO/Director with line-management administration (1:1s, objective setting etc)
• Provide basic budget tracking and administration
• Maintain organised filing systems
• Draft and prepare routine correspondence
• Prepare presentations and documents
• Maintain accurate records and contact databases
• Provide IT support and troubleshooting where needed

Meeting & Document Preparation

• Assist CEO/Director with meeting prep as required
• Prepare agendas and collate meeting papers

Team Assistant  

• Process staff travel claims for payment, checking receipts and sign off from line managers
• Logistical support for UK based events inc. away days for venues, travel, materials
• Logistical support for project events and workshops (UK & overseas) 
• Ad-hoc diary coordination for group events
• Contract management support; including due diligence info and evidence gathering
• Support Comms and other teams as required

Purpose of the job

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s passionate about supporting the delivery of the youth engagement strategy for the #iwill Movement and ensuring young people are at the centre of our work at UK Youth.

The Youth Development Officer (Towns & Cities of Social Action), will support the development and delivery of youth participation in our place-based work with the #iwill Movement and UK Youth Network. You will create positive relationships with local youth organisations and young people, so that our work is driven by their voices and experiences, helping to develop and deliver a range of opportunities and activities to build and engage different communities of young people. You will help empower young people to become active citizens and creative positive change, by creating innovative ways for young people to engage in various networks through volunteering, social action and campaigning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure partners and young people in our eight #iwill Towns & Cities of Social Action (TaCSA) understand and feel connected to the #iwill movement through consistent communication, engagement in opportunities, and inclusion in movement development discussions/activities.

• In partnership with our partners in the TaCSAs, develop and deliver a programme of youth development and social action activity, with emphasis on those communities.

• Working closely with the Communications team, co-create and support communications that profile youth voice, platform stories, and showcase impact through digital and traditional media.

• Facilitate opportunities for young people to build their confidence, skills and leadership through volunteering, campaigning and social action opportunities.

• In partnership with the Nationally-focused Manager and Officer, ensure young people from our TaCSAs have access to opportunities to influence and take action at a national level as well as in their local area.

• Coordinate and support on youth-facing campaigns and events such as Power of Youth Day, #iWill Week, and key regional activities.

• Ensure opportunities for young people prioritise inclusion and accessibility for those who might need additional support and encouragement to step up and engage.

• Support young people to create digital content (e.g. blogs, videos, social posts) and partner with them to tell their stories across local and national platforms.

• Develop content on agreed digital platforms to engage and connect young people and networks across the UK.

• Organise and manage logistics for youth activities: prioritising safeguarding, appropriate briefings, communication promotion and stakeholder coordination.

• Engage with partners and stakeholders—youth workers, media, funders, local authorities—to build alliances, increase visibility of youth-led work and encourage new opportunities.

• Communicate the benefits of the UK Youth and #iwill Movement and progress against our priorities to organisations and individuals, through a variety of channels, updates and specific marketing campaigns.

Experience we're after

• A nationally recognised youth work qualification or ability to demonstrate experience of frontline youth work delivery, understanding of contextual safeguarding and data protection is highly desirable.

• Experience of working with young volunteers and/or social action projects.

• Demonstrated experience in digital engagement and communications activities—especially creating content with young people.

• Experience of using digital platforms to engage networks and communities.

• Proven track record of project coordination, event management, or logistical planning within a youth or voluntary sector setting.

• Experience working in place-based contexts and understanding how to engage local communities and young people meaningfully.

• Confident engaging with and coaching young people to take on new opportunities, lead campaigns, tell their stories, or influence decisions.

• Familiarity with facilitating groups sessions and workshops is highly desirable.

The Role

The Communications Manager (to Executive) is responsible for what, where and how the Chief Executive, Directors (collective referred to as ‘Directors’ from this point forward) and members of the Board of Trustees communicate about the charity to employees, volunteers and supporters.

You will enable charity leaders to convey and reinforce consistent messages to build reputation and trust in both the charity and the leadership of the charity.

As Communications Manager (to Executive), you will be responsible for Directors’ communication about the charity and its:

- purpose

- brand

- public affairs

- reputation (including crisis management and responses to complaints)

The role holder will help to identify communication gaps and opportunity, working with Directors to address these through a communication plan.

You will plan, agree, draft and support Directors to deliver proactive thought-leadership.

Specifically, you will:

· Develop and agree a bespoke internal/external communication plan for Directors, reflecting both their shared, collective role in leading the charity.

· Optimise existing, and develop new, communication channels to enable Directors to reach new audiences and reinforce messages to existing audiences.

· Identify corporate developments, projects and initiatives that will benefit from Director communication and work with project/initiative leader(s) to ensure a planned, aligned and integrated approach to key messages and their delivery.

Brand

· Ensure the charity’s brand, strategy and purpose is accurately and proactively reflected in all messaging and content which quotes or is on behalf of Directors.

· Reflect the charity’s tone-of-voice, taking a plain-English approach to communication by avoiding technical terms, jargon and acronyms.

Process and Governance

· Ensure Directors are advised about potential PR and communication opportunities and can consider and input before they are committed to.

· For proactive communication, diarise approval time in Directors’ diaries and provide Executive briefings and content well in advance (giving weeks’ rather than days’ notice) so that there is plenty of time for Directors to review, adapt and approve before the deadline or event.

· Where reactive opportunities (e.g. tv and radio interviews) are available, ensure the relevant Director has adequate notice and time to prepare, negotiating longer timeframes on their behalf where this is possible and necessary.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· To be educated to degree level or equivalent.

· To have achieved a recognised professional qualification which demonstrates an ongoing commitment to learning and development.

· To have demonstrable experience of effective PR management, preferably with a not-for-profit organisation.

· To be experienced and confident working with and advising an organisation’s most senior leaders.

· To have clear experience of having embraced organisational change and transformation, and of helping colleagues and team members to do likewise.
