What you'll be doing:

The Director of Fundraising is a senior, strategic leadership role responsible for driving significant and sustainable growth in income for MQ, with a target of achieving £10 million annual turnover over the next five years.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the postholder will set and deliver an ambitious, data-led fundraising strategy across philanthropy, trusts and foundations, partnerships and other income streams. They will personally steward high-value relationships while building a high-performing, commercially minded fundraising function capable of supporting MQ’s long-term mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Income Growth

• Develop and deliver MQ’s overall fundraising and income generation strategy, aligned to organisational priorities
• Set clear income targets and KPIs across all fundraising streams
• Personally lead and secure six- and seven-figure gifts, grants and contracts
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with major donors, funders and partners
• Ensure excellent stewardship, reporting and donor experience across all income streams

Pipeline, Performance & Data Oversight

• Provide strategic oversight of the fundraising pipeline, ensuring a healthy balance of prospecting, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
• Use data, insight and CRM reporting to track performance, forecast income and manage risk
• Identify income concentration risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Drive continuous improvement in fundraising processes, systems and ways of working

Financial Management & Reporting

• Own the Fundraising budget, including income forecasting, expenditure control and cost-of-fundraising oversight
• Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate income phasing, reporting and financial planning
• Produce regular reports for the CEO, Executive Team and Board on income performance, pipeline health and risks
• Ensure all funding is managed in line with grant conditions, donor expectations and regulatory requirements

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide strategic leadership and line management to the team
• Build, develop and retain a high-performing, motivated fundraising team
• Foster a collaborative, ambitious and accountable fundraising culture
• Support succession planning and talent development within the Fundraising function

External Profile, Partnerships & Thought Leadership

• Represent MQ at high-level events, conferences and networking opportunities
• Strengthen MQ’s profile with funders, corporates, policymakers and partners
• Work closely with the Board and Science Council to maximise fundraising and partnership opportunities
• Undertake speaking engagements where appropriate to generate visibility & awareness

Executive Leadership & Governance

• Act as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy and decision-making
• Support the CEO with Board engagement, particularly around fundraising strategy and performance
• Ensure fundraising activity complies with all relevant legislation, regulation and best practice
• Uphold MQ’s values, reputation and commitment to ethical fundraising

Person Specification:

• Significant senior leadership experience in fundraising or income generation, ideally within the charity, research or mission-driven sector
• Proven track record of delivering substantial income growth and securing high-value gifts
• Experience leading and developing high-performing fundraising teams

• Demonstrable experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships
• Strategic, analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making

The focus of the Senior Fundraising Manager role will be to deliver and run the successful fundraising appeals and draws function, delivering against targets of c. £1.25m for 2025/26. Managing a small appeals team within the wider membership function, you will grow our income and innovation in this space, ensuring fundraising best practice principles are adhered to.

Our ideal candidate will be results driven, with an open, curious, intelligent approach to analysis and reporting. You will be able to work successfully in partnership with other teams and departments as well as influence key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be able to demonstrate: 

• Substantial professional experience of the project management of appeals and campaigns fundraising gained within a charity or other fundraising organisation including their planning, development, running and evaluation
• Experience of running fundraising appeals or campaigns across a range of channels and running lotteries or draws for fundraising
• Outstanding written communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications for different audiences and media whilst maintaining consistent tone and messaging
• A track record in setting and meeting income targets
• Excellent project management skills, with evidence of having successfully delivered concurrent projects

An understanding and knowledge of the art forms is not essential but the ability to learn and communicate effectively and persuasively about opera, ballet, music and dance to supporters is critical for this role.

We make sure babies and children receive the vital treatment they need, no matter where they are. We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team on a fixed-term 14 month contract (maternity cover). 

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the management and delivery of our challenge events, special events and community fundraising streams, but the post-holder would also be expected to regularly support activities across our corporate partnerships, individual giving and Family Fundraising streams of fundraising too.

You will play a key role in developing these income streams, engaging our supporters to motivate them to fundraise for Lia’s Wings and creating initiatives that introduce new people to our organisation.

Key Responsibilities: 

Event Management

• To manage our Challenge, Community and Special Event fundraising streams to achieve set targets. This will include management of challenge events such as our flagship event, Ride for Lia, as well as London Landmarks and the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
• To manage our annual Air Ambulance Mingle and develop existing plans for a new Christmas Carol Concert

Corporate and Community Partnerships

• To assume account management of our smaller corporate and community partnerships (who are primarily engaged with us through event fundraising)
• To support the Director of Fundraising in the delivery of our larger corporate and community partnerships.

Supporter Engagement

• To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in year-on-year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting and feedback on outcomes of events.
• To build strong relationships with existing and new stakeholders, including event committees and our Board of Trustees.

Essential Experience and Skills

• A minimum of three years proven experience in a fundraising role, preferably in a challenge, community or special events fundraising role.
• Demonstrable ability to build relationships and effectively steward and support fundraisers to exceed their targets.
• Experience in writing and developing stewardship plans and in creating engaging fundraising collateral to support donors and supporters of all levels.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and managing fundraising evens from design to completion, including logistical planning, budgeting, forecasting, stewardship and evaluation.
• Experience working with fundraising committees and/or Trustee Groups.

Essential Skills:

• A strong communicator, able to confidently engage with stakeholders of all levels, internally and externally, to share our vision and maximise fundraising success.

Job Purpose:

The Marketing & Fundraising Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing St Hilda’s East’s marketing strategy and will take the lead in organising fundraising events and securing funds from individual donations, and rental and room hire income.

About the role

The Senior Legacy Manager will lead the development and delivery of London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s legacy programme, ensuring legacy giving is embedded across fundraising and marketing activity and is front of mind across the organisation.

This role is responsible for managing our legacy marketing programme, working closely with the marketing team to deliver compelling, sensitive and effective activity. The postholder will also oversee our outsourced legacy administration partner, ensuring legacy gifts are processed efficiently, compliantly and in line with best practice, through regular performance monitoring and review.

Working across the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, the Senior Legacy Manager will champion legacies as a vital form of support, collaborating closely with all teams in the directorate. This will include working with the major donor team to identify and develop high-value legacy opportunities and supporting the community engagement team to integrate in-memory and legacy messaging into the community talks programme and engagement activity within the community.

The role also plays a key part in connecting our legacy and in-memory programmes, working with the community engagement team and the Deputy Director to develop a joined up in-memory strategy that ensures a coherent and compassionate supporter experience.

About the person

You’ll be an experienced and confident legacy fundraising professional with a passion for building long-term impact. You’ll be a strong collaborator who can influence across teams and seniority levels, and a persuasive advocate for the importance of legacy giving. You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands on delivery, ensuring legacy activity is well planned, insight led and supporter centred. Comfortable working across disciplines and a self-starter, you’ll play a key role in embedding a culture of legacies across London’s Air Ambulance Charity.

LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people.  The Fundraising & Marketing Team at LGBT Foundation is a small yet collaborative group of professionals. They are dedicated to advancing the visibility and impact of the UK’s leading health and wellbeing charity. The team is responsible for implementing wide-ranging fundraising, communication, and marketing strategies. By leveraging various channels such as email marketing, the organisation’s website, video, social media, OOH advertising and traditional media, the team strives to support the national visibility, brand awareness, impact storytelling and income generation of the charity by attracting, engaging and stewarding a growing supporter base.   LGBT Foundation’s Partnerships & Philanthropy Advisor will work with fundraising & marketing colleagues to deliver against strategic objectives and achieve in-year financial targets, significantly increasing income and support, specifically from corporates, individual giving (donations), legacies and fundraising events. You will also work with the Director of Fundraising & Marketing to shape four individual giving campaigns a year and two legacy awareness campaigns a year. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager to keep fundraising information on webpages and social channels active, ensuring regular promotion of charity challenges and shaping digital mobilisation efforts which will build the charity’s supporter base, attracting more new donors.   

You will support regular reporting on performance towards financial targets, working closely with colleagues to reconcile income, ensure Salesforce records and reports are up-to-date and that integrations support automated data flows.

Working as part of the Partnership Team and line managing one Partnerships Officer, the Partnerships Manager position will secure critical income from new and existing corporate partners through compelling pitches and excellent stewardship.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Corporate Partnerships Development

• Ensure achievement of annual income target for corporate partnerships
• Take primary responsibility for managing the current pool of medium and large corporate partnerships, including global partners (working with Operation Smile Inc), to ensure their growth and longevity – strategic input into the growth of each partner will be essential
• Develop and implement plans for partner activity to maximise all income channels, including corporate philanthropy, employee engagement, cause-related marketing and more
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new corporate fundraising prospects, creating propositions/proposals and making approaches, working with the Director of Partnerships
• Enhance our employee engagement and community fundraising offer with simple, easy-to-do fundraising activities, linked to key moments in the calendar
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to partners and internal stakeholders
• Represent Operation Smile UK in global corporate partner discussions, applying any global strategies to develop successful fundraising plans for the UK
• Lead on the development and management of any corporate partner cultivation events

Additional Responsibilities

• Line manage one Partnerships Officer, supporting them to manage inbound community fundraising requests and existing relationships, as well as smaller corporate partners
• Oversight of community fundraising income target delivered by the Officer
• Create and maintain annual corporate partnerships and community fundraising budgets and business plans, including activities from current supporters and forecasting new business income

The Role

We are seeking a Director for Charities to lead and further develop the Company’s grant-making, philanthropy and fundraising. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering charitable strategy and ensuring the Company’s resources create meaningful, long-term impact for young people and communities.

The Director for Charities will oversee our grant-making, steward key funding relationships and play a central role in developing fundraising with members, including growing individual giving, legacies and events-based income. The role is inherently relational, working closely with charity partners, schools, dioceses, Company members and colleagues. You will support and advise grant-making committees, convene learning and engagement events, and represent the Company within external funder networks to remain connected to best practice in modern philanthropy.

We are looking for a values-driven leader with strong experience of flexible and responsive grant-making and fundraising in the charitable sector, and a clear commitment to improving outcomes for young people and communities. Income and Engagement Specialist

At Mencap, we’re at a genuinely exciting point in our journey. Our new strategy, Mencap 2030, sets out a bold ambition for the future, and engaging and growing our supporter base is central to making it happen. We’ve made significant investment in our engagement capability, including a state-of-the-art CRM, alongside face-to-face fundraising and digital innovation.

We’re now looking for an experienced leader to step into a senior interim role, providing stability, leadership and momentum across our engagement activity during a period of transition.

This role will lead all of our mass fundraising and engagement activity, including Individual Giving, Legacies, Community & Events Fundraising, and Supporter Care. It is a senior, influential role shaping how supporters experience Mencap, how we grow income sustainably, and how we build long-term relationships rooted in trust and shared values.

As part of the interim remit, the role will also provide operational oversight and support to our High Value Relationships team, working closely with the interim Executive Director of Fundraising and other colleagues to ensure continuity, strong performance management and clear oversight of income and KPIs during this period.

You’ll bring strategic vision and clarity, alongside strong operational judgement. You’ll know how to turn insight into action, how to use data intelligently (without losing the human touch), and how to lead teams through change with confidence and care. You’ll be comfortable holding performance, using financial and KPI information to support delivery and decision-making.

Just as importantly, you’ll recognise that our supporters aren’t just numbers or segments – they’re individuals who care deeply about our work and want to feel connected to the difference they’re helping to make.

You’ll lead the place where Mencap’s fundraising brand, proposition, and voice really come to life, designing experiences, appeals, campaigns and supporter journeys that reflect the voices and lived experiences of people with a learning disability and show the world why our work matters.

This is a full‑time role (37.5 hours per week), offered on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, with flexibility on location.

Make a real difference to the lives of Afghan communities. In this role, you will drive change: stewarding relationships with public donors and fundraisers, supporting income generation and retention, maintaining high quality supporter data, and helping identify opportunities to grow engagement and income across these areas.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Communications and Giving team to support the delivery of fundraising appeals, donor communications and events, including the London Marathon, while also contributing to the smooth running of the London office through essential supporter liaison tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of individual giving activity and Afghanaid’s annual fundraising appeals, as well as regular giving and donor acquisition campaigns. 

• Coordinate multi channel fundraising campaigns across email, digital, direct mail, telephone and face to face

• Contribute to income growth by supporting testing and optimisation of fundraising approaches, and staying informed on sector best practice and developments

• Deliver high quality day to day stewardship of individual donors to build long term engagement and loyalty

• Ensure timely and appropriate donor communications, including thank you letters and messages, supporter updates and impact newsletters

• Respond to donor enquiries and maintain excellent standards of supporter care

• Liaise with Programme and M&E teams to source up to date impact data and stories from the communities Afghanaid has supported

• Support the delivery of Afghanaid led fundraising events, both offline and digital, including administration and coordination

• Maintain accurate and up to date donor records within the CRM, ensuring GDPR and fundraising compliance

• Create segmented and tailored donor journeys with Afghanaid’s CRM to improve stewardship

• Monitor campaign performance and prepare reports on income, return on investment and donor retention

• Use data and insights to support targeting and future campaign planning

• Support monthly income reconciliation by accurately coding donations and maintaining records within Salesforce and marketing systems

• Process fundraising post and ensure timely delivery of supporter thank you letters and shop orders

• Ensure Gift Aid declarations are secured, recorded and filed correctly

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll be an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Wales, with a particular focus on South Wales. 

We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters.  You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop the local region.

The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.

You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities, and celebrating their incredible successes.

No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.

The role is initially offered as an 18-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

Confident in approaching new contacts and are experienced in developing new relationships from scratch. This may currently be in a customer service, account management or a stewardship role.

Experienced in managing and building new and established relationships with a focus on retention and income growth.

Enthusiastic, proactive, organised and unafraid to test and try new ideas.

This role will involve being out and about in the community you’re building, so you must be able to work independently outside of the office in varying locations and enjoy being busy.

Previous experience working in a charity is not required. The ability to speak Welsh would be desirable.
