The Role:

As the Director, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of the charity’s model for those in suicidal crisis ensuring its success and sustainability. In this demanding yet deeply rewarding position, you will be working closely and collaboratively with your fellow Co-Director, sharing 24/7 responsibilities, and report jointly to the Trustees.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the charity’s services and model, being accountable to the Chair of Trustees
• Rebuild and sustain client's culture, ethos and values. - integral to the model
• Manage and supervise and be a hands-on member of a dedicated operational team, together responsible for service delivery 27/7
• Lead/oversee the training, selection, supervision and development of volunteers
• Collaborate with the Secretary to manage service support functions, including IT/systems, house facilities, and media/external relations

• Professional qualification and experience working with those in crisis and/or mental health issues including applying psychoanalytic understanding
• First-hand experience working with and befriending individuals experiencing suicidal ideation

The Director of Finance Business Partnering (Operations) is a critical role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance division that will lead, develop and deliver high quality finance business partnering and decision support to all the central services of the university, including providing financial planning, reporting and insight across revenue and capital funded activity. 

You will support the senior Director of the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance function in development and improvement projects. Examples include the development of a professional competencies framework to support career progression and performance at all levels, supported by learning and development opportunities, improving key processes, resource allocation and financial planning methodologies, and reporting on financial performance.

As part of the function’s senior management team, this role will lead a team of finance business partners who will provide outstanding partnering services to our central services including large functions such as Estates and Facilities, IT, Students & Education, Research Management and on other crucial ‘head office’ activities. Working closely with the corporate reporting team on the provision of management accounts, you will lead on financial performance support in-year and across our three-year financial planning framework. You will also undertake and provide professional support to your team on business partnering skills, financial modelling, business case development and financial appraisals. You will play a wider role as a senior member of the finance leadership team on cross-college initiatives and be asked to deputise for the senior Director of the division or their peers.

It is an exciting time to join the university as we are making a step change in our support and advice, particularly to directorate heads and our Senior Vice Principal (Operations), and onwards through the leadership roles across the central service directorates where financial and operational decisions are made.

This is a full time post (36 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. We work in a hybrid way and there is an expectation of being able to work at least three days a week in our offices to help facilitate a collaborative working culture.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and driven Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive to join our team in this integral and newly created role. The role will lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners, and developing and managing a pipeline of strategic corporate partners that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. Key responsibilities:

· Identify and nurture relationships with prospective corporate partners aligned with the mission and values of PCR.

About the role

This is an exciting senior role for an environmentally committed leader to cover maternity leave. We are looking for someone who can take strategic oversight of our Green Space for Health programme and provide effective management of the project and its staff.

Our Green Space for Health programme helps to realise the value of green space for physical and mental health, both at healthcare sites and in the wider community. Our flagship project, the NHS Forest, promotes tree planting and woodland creation at NHS sites, supporting and encouraging sites to plant and maintain trees through offering free trees and advice. We support NHS sites to develop their greenspace for the benefits of patients, health staff and communities, while improving biodiversity and combatting climate change. The Green Space for Health Director will oversee the development of the NHS Forest and other Green Space for Health projects, delivering the programme strategy. The Green Space for Health Director will deliver our programme strategy through fulfilling the following responsibilities:

• Provide line management for the Green Space for Health Team’s 5 staff members. This will include one-to-one meetings, appraisals and regular team meetings.

1. Background and Purpose

The Deputy Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to enhance the work of the small, dynamic secretariat team to create more momentum across its network. This new role will be instrumental in delivering on the strategic objectives and securing sustainable funding through its continued evolution. The person will be responsible for connecting the various programmatic areas of work quality assurance and impact, capacity support and its new country level work. They will guide planning processes to be able to track and analyse our impact. They will leverage the knowledge of the team to seek new opportunities for ensuring the Alliance delivers on its mission. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing long-term plans and processes that can bring new levels of success for the organisation.

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Guide and facilitate the team’s delivery of the CHS Alliance strategy:

· Work with the ED on delivering the strategy to position CHS Alliance as a network driving system change for greater accountability to people in crisis, creating relationships within teams and externally to influence change across the global humanitarian sector.

· Develop processes to support the team track progress on how we are meeting our objectives so they can be clearly communicated and analysed to continue to deliver on the ambitions of the Alliance’s strategy.

· Facilitate a strong culture of organisational collaboration to achieve goals and objectives; developing a framework that support the team’s cohesion in delivering the goals of the organisation to create greater impact.

· Provide oversight of the funding needs and priorities and support strong proposal development and compliance with donor funding and guide decisions on how to allocate and manage resources.

· Work closely with the ED, to establish and execute a fundraising plan to achieve the strategy and workplan of the CHS Alliance, including donor intelligence.

· Provide support to ensure staff can complete their responsibilities to their highest potential.

· Initiate programmes and activities that are resourced and effective and efficient as possible.

External partnerships & donor engagement:

· Stay abreast of emerging trends in the volatile context of humanitarian action and provide strategic thought leadership on the dynamic and shifting priorities and what it means for the Alliance network.

· Work closely with the ED to create a strong donor advocacy and engagement plan that goes beyond fundraising to work with donors as drivers of accountability.

· In coordination with the rest of the Alliance team, engage with external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships contributing to the CHS Alliance strategic objectives.

· Work closely across the teams to keep abreast of the Alliance members’ needs to meet the CHS commitments.

· Actively seek opportunities for partnerships to advance the CHS Alliance Strategic Plan (e.g. with members, academia, coordination bodies like the IASC, or other key stakeholders).

· Promote the CHS and the work of the CHS Alliance through relevant social media channels or platforms, through conference presentations and through workshops or other events.

· Represent CHS Alliance and its positions at meetings, speaking engagements or through opinion pieces. Assist the CHS Alliance to influence policy in the sector.

· Act as the public face of the CHS Alliance, along with the ED, to promote its mission and purpose.

Key responsibilities

Programming & artistic relationships

• Devise and implement the artistic strategy and programme of the Philharmonia Orchestra in close consultation with the Chief Executive, Principal Conductor and Exec Team colleagues

• Act as primary liaison to the Principal Conductor and other titled artists, discussing and agreeing programmes and projects

• Engage guest conductors and soloists for all Philharmonia own-promoted performances and engagements, including fee negotiations

• Identify and lead opportunities for commissioning and co-commissioning of new works, negotiating commission fees and contracts. Liaison with publishers

• Negotiate co-promotion deals with external partners such as Serious or Southbank Centre

• Liaise with conductors and touring partners to develop programmes for foreign touring, while

  considering market and budget limitations

• Initiate and develop non-standard orchestral projects, such as film with live orchestra, cross-artform or cross-genre collaborations, and performances at non-standard venues

• Develop suitable programmes for Philharmonia Residency venues, taking both box office and logistical considerations into account

• Handle artist and conductor cancellations and identifying suitable replacements. Liaising internally with other departments over all cancellations

• Develop repertoire ideas and ensure timely registration on clash-diary, with support from Concerts Manager

• Lead on chamber music programming, including liaison with players over proposals

• Research and identify future featured artists, composers and guest conductors proactively

Internal & external communications

• Represent the artistic programming function to senior staff, promoters, agents, donors, Board members and volunteers

• Collaborate with the Learning and Engagement department to integrate the performance programme with educational projects in the planning stage, including Artist in Residence programme

• Collaborate with the Development Department on programmed-led fundraising activities

• Be in regular contact with Marketing colleagues as artistic plans consolidate and confirm. Advise on narrative and proof-read key documents

• Act as artistic liaison with external partners as required

Budgeting, rehearsal & instrumentation planning

• Work with the Concerts Director and Managers to create project and season activity budgets, accurately forecasting expenditure and advising on box office targets

• Oversee the planning of rehearsals by Concerts Managers, seeking advice from members of the orchestra as necessary

• Agree special instruments, and relevant additional fees

Principal liaison with Southbank Centre

• Lead on the day-to-day relationship with Southbank Centre, both in terms of strategy and date requests as principal point of contact

• Keep SBC colleagues updated on future artistic plans, specifically identifying future projects which may be of interest to Southbank Centre to collaborate on, on a co-promotion or engagement basis

Orchestra liaison

• Lead the Artistic Committee discussions re future plans, and ideas around conductors and soloists • Work with the Concerts Assistants and Data & Insight Manager to issue periodic conductor and soloist survey, using results to inform future programming
• Be in regular contact with key orchestral personnel over suitability of repertoire if rehearsal time is  severely limited

Recordings & digital

• Lead on Philharmonia Records, developing and overseeing the recordings strategy
• Identify, and plan potential own-label recording projects
• Listen to recordings to assess suitability for release, and discussing in-house recordings with Artistic Committee
• Work with Immersive Producer on programmatic aspects of digital projects • Identify projects which could be digital first from the outset

Other

• Work with the CEO and Exec team colleagues on developing future business plan and strategies built around the Orchestra’s new mission, vision and values

• As a member of the Exec team represent the Orchestra in key operational and strategic relationships, as required

• Attend performances at Southbank Centre and at venues out of London and overseas, as required, in order to monitor artistic performance and quality

Required skills & experience

• Excellent track record of working in artistic planning or artist management (min 7-10 years)

• First-class knowledge of orchestral repertoire and artists, as well as the work of the Philharmonia

The Director of Operations will work as part of the management team to develop and implement the organisation’s strategy and operational plans and to build the longer term sustainability of the organisation. They will be required to deputise for the Chief Officer in their absence and assist in the overall management of the organisation.
