The Benefits Service within South East London Mind is a well-established offer of support to clients who need to access welfare benefits they are entitled to receive. The service currently provides casework support for people who need to challenge benefits decisions across the three boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. There is also a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and all aspects of the assessment process.

We are looking for a Benefits Service Manager with significant experience of working within welfare benefits. You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems and the links with welfare issues. You will take responsibility for the quality of support the team deliver to ensure it is robust and accountable. We hope to be able to extend our offer of support in the future so it will be important you have an interest in developing the service.

Applicants should have previous experience of thinking strategically to develop a service and of managing a team to deliver the support. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.  

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role could suit two types of candidates:

• A practitioner with experience of working with children and families who wants to use their practice experience in a programme management role, or;
• An experienced programme manager with strong public sector and/or charity sector experience, who is confident working with data and is relational and collaborative with colleagues and partners.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience of Family Group Decision Making, solution-focused practice, or the children’s social care sector.

Whilst this role is a managerial role, and not day-to-day family-facing we do make space for our Programme Managers to hold a limited number of referrals each year to nurture skills and practice experience. Full practitioner training is provided for all Daybreak employees.

The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. A successful candidate would also need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities in and around Bromley and Hackney on a regular basis, depending on service needs. Willingness to travel to other areas, depending on service need and growth is needed.

What does a week look like for a Daybreak Programme Manager?

No two weeks are the same, but as a Programme Manager you can expect to balance a mix of operational oversight, supporting your freelancer team, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities include:

Ensuring a quality service for families, and delivering on contract aims

• Reviewing and triaging referrals, including case discussions with referrers.
• Quality-assuring referrals and Family Plans, ensuring procedures are followed and records are kept up to date in our case management system.
• Monitoring case records to make sure Family Group Conferences are progressing appropriately, and accurate records are being kept.
• Collating and analysing performance data (KPIs), using MS Excel and other tools.
• Writing quarterly reports for commissioners, analysing service delivery, providing narratives and identifying areas for development.

Working with your freelancer team of Coordinators

• Allocating new referrals to our team of freelance Independent Coordinators.
• Engaging Coordinators in best practice discussions, providing guidance to overcoming barriers or issues.
• Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, reviewing incident reports and escalating when required.
• Hosting in-person and online Practice Development Groups to share key messages and facilitate best practice discussions.
• Recruiting, inducting, and supporting new Coordinators - from advertising and interviews to observing practice.
• Reviewing and signing off invoices from freelance Coordinators.

Working with external stakeholders and referrers

• Building relationships with referrers such as Social Workers, through consultations and attending team meetings.
• Promoting our services to commissioners and senior managers in children’s social care, ensuring referrals are high quality whilst also raising awareness of the value of FGCs and our service.

Contributing to the wider Charity aims

• Attending Programme Manager and staff team meetings.
• Contributing ideas and expertise to strengthen processes, improve service delivery, expand our offer to families, and support Daybreak’s wider charitable goals.

DETAILS

• Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
• Location: The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. There is also occasionally travel to Southampton (Head Office) for meetings and other areas, based on operational need.

Purpose of the role

1. To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group 
2. To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
3. To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
4. To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary

Supporter care

• To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
• Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
• Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.

 Donations and data entry

• Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
• Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
• Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
• Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.

Fundraising & volunteer support

• To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
• To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers 
• Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
• To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.

Other

• To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
• Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
• To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
• To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.
   

Knowledge and experience:

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment, preferably within fundraising
• Good working knowledge of CRM database
• Experience of banking processes and consistent financial reconciliation

The Role 

The Director of Service Development is a strategic role, responsible for the development and growth of services across HNHA. Duties will include:

• Responsibility for the people strategy, HR processes and marketing.
• Accountability for the implementation and development of the organisational strategy, including HNHA’s hospitability and community engagement projects.
• Identifying and exploring opportunities for strategic service expansion, improvement and innovation.
• Responsibility for partnership strategy and building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders.
• Developing and delivering a robust people strategy and managing and supporting departmental leaders.

The Person

We are looking for a talented strategic leader with prior experience in a senior role within the care, housing, or charity sector. With extensive experience in HR management, people strategy and service delivery and growth, you should also have excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.

This is a leadership role so we are looking for someone inspiring, someone who can lead the team and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence. ADVOCACY SERVICE MANAGER

Salary: £37,000 £40,000 (dependent on experience)

Rape Crisis South London (RCSL) is seeking a skilled, passionate, and professional Advocacy Manager to join our team and lead our ISVA and Casework department. 
 

As Advocacy Manager (maternity cover), you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality support services for survivors of sexual violence, particularly those engaging with or considering engagement with the criminal justice system. You will manage a team of ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advocates), Caseworkers, and our Advocacy Operations Administrator, ensuring excellence in recruitment, induction, and training.
 

Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you will play a key leadership role within our organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues across our frontline services and our training and prevention teams.
 

What We are Looking For: 
 

• A proven track record in people management and supporting survivors of sexual violence
• Experience working within the violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector
• A creative and collaborative approach to service development and evaluation

Purpose of post

By instruction and in partnership with the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) the Programme Director will manage and coordinate the operational areas of VFCC based on company policies, goals, and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met. The Programme Director prioritise the target/ objectives. We are looking for an experienced Programme Director to supervise a wide range of programs. You will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program. You will supervise teams and inform management on progress and performance.

A successful Programme Director must have a broad knowledge of program management principles. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their subordinates.

The goal is to ensure every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization

Key tasks

• The Programme Director will assist senior management in establishing the development of the organisations long-term business Plan.
• The Programme Director will ensure that the strategic aims and planning of departments budgets/objectives are in conjunction and agreed by the CEO.
• The Programme Director will be responsible for monitoring workflow, ensuring optimal productivity, performance, milestones and deadlines are met across the organization.
• The Programme Director will be responsible for managing the performance and objectives for key staff.

The Programme Director will also be responsible for:

• CRM system – lamplight.
• Fundraising – to support the fundraising strategy and monitor and produce reports.
• Assist SMT in setting goals that promote company growth which will support the strategic objectives of the organisation.
• Oversee daily activity of the team.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and other organisational reports as needed .
• Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine and manage the need for improvements team workloads to meet goals and deadlines.
• Develop plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Improve existing systems and policies
• Promote and enforce safety in the workplace
• Work closely with other departments to promote efficient optimisation.
• Execute plans designed to meet company goals by updating/monitoring policies employees and coaching.
• Updating management with detailed and accurate reports/presentations regarding budgets, and bids
• Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed, read reports prepared by managers to monitor progress.
• Ensure program operations and activities comply to legal guidelines and internal policies.
• Knowledge of child protection/safeguarding policy/procedures and be able to act and make reports as necessary

The VFCC experience:

• To ensure that care experienced children and young people have a positive experience of VFCC.
• To ensure VFCC is a safe and supportive environment for children and young people.
• To ensure young people are signposted to further opportunities to develop their skills and experience.
• To coordinate children and young people’s meaningful involvement/participation with the governance and operations frameworks of the organisation.

Other duties:

• To work within the organisation’s policies and practice guidelines.
• To participate in supervision sessions, staff meetings, managerial meetings, and the team activities.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as may be required by the Chief Executive Officer.
• Deputise with the Influencing Director in the absence of Chief Executive Officer.
• The Programme Director will occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends with the occasional requirement to stay away from home overnight.
