MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator is to provide support in ensuring the
local community is kept informed about Matrix and its projects, as well as engaged in
supporting us. We expect you to be creative, enthusiastic about our cause and an effective
communicator. In this role you will work independently, but in close liaison with the CEO,
Wider Leadership Team and the wider Matrix team.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
External Communication
● In collaboration with the CEO, write, edit and coordinate the production and delivery of
all postal and electronic newsletters.
● Plan, prepare and coordinate communication with Matrix donors, supporter Churches
and the wider public.
● Create, plan and schedule posts across all Matrix social media channels.
● Develop original copy for social media platforms, websites, broadcast and printed
advertising materials.
● In collaboration with the Data Coordinator, simplifying complex data into a user-friendly
format such as graphs, charts and other visual aids.
● Ensure Matrix team understand and use the correct branding for internal and external
communications.
● Understand brand guidelines and consistently implement the brand voice across all
channels and marketing materials and encourage the wider team to do the same.
● Collaborate closely with the Data Coordinator and Head of Operations to ensure our
supporters database meets GDPR and Fundraising Regulation requirements.
● In liaison with the CEO, write and submit press releases as required.
Income Generation and Networking
● Participate in the Fundraising Working Group, working with the Income Generation
Strategy to enhance our income.
● Attend Matrix fundraising events, taking photographs and supporting with appropriate
creative tasks.
● Support the Head of Operations in producing written funding applications, as required.
● Represent Matrix at networking events alongside the Leadership Team.
Support to Executive Team
● Under the direction of the Head of Operations, collaborate closely with the Operations
Team.
● Undertake a variety of creative administrative tasks for the CEO and Head of
Operations as required.
● Under the direction of the Head of Operations, provide additional administrative
support to the wider Leadership Team.
● Work within our wider Organisational Strategy and Communications Strategy.

As Company Secretary, you will play a key role in ensuring governance and compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements.
You will provide expert advice and support to the Chair of Trustees, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership, acting as a link between trustees, the Co-CEO's, and the executive team. You will manage board and sub-committee meetings, optimise information flow, support trustee recruitment, induction, training, and appraisal, and governance reviews.
You will also oversee the production of the Annual Trustees' Report and Statutory Accounts, act as the primary contact with the Charity Commission, ensuring the charity maintains the highest standards of governance.
To be successful within this role, you will have proven experience in a company secretarial role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
You will have proven expertise in governance and project management. You will have strong decision-making skills, with the ability to support the Board in a professional and trusted capacity. You will have excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work to deadlines. This role is available on a permanent contract and part-time basis (4 days a week). The salary banding on offer is circa £48,000 pro-rata (depending on level of experience). This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to attend their London office 1 day a week.
Within this role, you will work with developers and digital teams to improve reach, engagement, and conversion across digital channels by analysing user data. You will manage website tracking and tagging and help with implementation required for technical functionality. You will utilise digital tools to drive marketing performance and audience insights. You will provide reports on digital performance and offer guidance/expertise on compliance matters.
You will be a strong communicator who has experience in digital/marketing analytics. You will have strong skills in website analysis (GA4), SEO tools, and conversion rate optimisation. You will be proficient in tracking setup (Google Tag Manager). You will have knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS. You will have experience using SQL, Google Looker/Data Studio, and excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
You will have understanding of social media analytics and Google Ads. You will also have an understanding of cookies, data privacy, and digital marketing best practice.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and proactive Projects and Communications Co-ordinator, for the Royal College of Psychiatrists Strategic Communications department.
Working directly with the Director and department senior leadership team, you will be the vital bridge facilitating our cross-department planning, project co-ordination of our flagship campaigns including Choose Psychiatry and Thrive in Psychiatry, and support essential day-to-day administration assistance to the Strategic Communications leadership team. Beyond project management you will provide on-the-ground support for high-profile events like the President’s lectures and Congress, and occasionally provide assistance with out-of-hours crisis communications.
