About the role

We are seeking a Rural Housing Enabler to join our friendly team and help tackle the rural housing challenges in Suffolk.

In this role, you will:

• Play a crucial part in increasing the supply of affordable housing in Suffolk
• Engage with communities and provide a range of support including:
  • Raising awareness of the need for affordable housing
  • Facilitating initial discussions to assess need
  • Gather evidence of need around rural housing
  • Liaise and engage with stakeholders
  • Assist parishes throughout the journey of developing their own local housing schemes

In this role, clear communication is essential. You’ll be presenting to a range of audiences, and working in partnership with communities / community leaders, parish councils, district and county authorities, landowners, developers, housing organisations, and other partners to bring forward affordable rural housing projects in Suffolk. Good IT skills, and the ability to build strong relationships are crucial.

Although this role is predominately desk space there will be some travel around the county and within rural areas of Suffolk. Access to a car is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:

• Excellent working knowledge of the issues affecting housing in Suffolk, and other issues affecting rural communities
• Experience/ understanding of working in supporting rural communities thorough consultation for affordable and/or community led housing
• A good understanding of the principles of quality community consultation
• Working with local authorities, parish councils, housing associations and similar organisations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Fundraising Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the Director of Fundraising and the Senior Fundraising Lead, you will ensure our high-value corporate partnerships run smoothly, our high-net-worth events are a success and our external pitches are sharp and well-researched. 

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your hands-on experience across corporate, trusts and foundations and individual giving within a fast-growing charity backed by a globally recognised brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research and opportunity generation

• Support the team by researching and keeping abreast of new funding opportunities across trusts, foundations, and corporate prospects.
• Compile background research to help the team evaluate and pursue new business leads.

Funding applications and pitch support

• Assist the Senior Fundraising Lead and Director of Fundraising with writing funding applications.
• Help structure and draft compelling pitch documents to support the team’s new business goals.
• Design and adapt templates for various fundraising documents and pitches.

Partnership coordination

• Take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of our corporate and institutional partnerships, ensuring exceptional donor care and seamless communication with external stakeholders (e.g., tracking partnership metrics, coordinating meetings, monthly data reporting and managing external communications).
• Deliver external logistics, such as school visits and workshops for corporate partners.
• Draft and prepare comprehensive reports for funders, while managing and responding to all ad hoc requests efficiently.

Fundraising operations support

• Be a key, dependable member of the team, supporting various fundraising work streams to ensure targets are met and team effectiveness is maximised.
• Draft supporter newsletters for our donor communications. 
• Coordinate in-person and online events (e.g., roundtables, fireside talks).

• Task management: Experience managing multiple tasks or priorities effectively, whether in a work, volunteer, or educational setting.
• Professional communication: Experience communicating clearly and professionally in person, via email and phone.
• General IT proficiency: Experience using standard office software (such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace) and a readiness to learn new digital tools.

You might have:

• Research skills: An ability to conduct thorough background research to identify new potential funding opportunities.
• Events and logistics: Experience helping to coordinate events (virtual or in-person), including handling bookings and catering.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust as our new Project Manager - National Cycle Network, working within the Delivery Team to lead the successful delivery of active travel infrastructure projects.

We are looking for someone with exceptional project management skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. While some technical knowledge of active travel is important, the focus of this role is on leading complex projects, coordinating teams, and driving collaboration to achieve sustainable, high-quality outcomes.

As Project Manager - National Cycle Network (Network Development Manager), you will oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of projects that enhance the National Cycle Network (NCN) and related infrastructure. You will combine strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership to make a real impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery: Manage active travel infrastructure projects from concept through design, construction, implementation, and evaluation—ensuring alignment with organisational goals and compliance standards.
• Coordinate teams: Provide day-to-day leadership for interdisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Build strong relationships: Engage and influence key stakeholders—including landowners, local authorities, and volunteers—through clear communication, evidence-based reporting, and presentations.
• Community engagement: Plan, organise, and attend engagement activities to ensure projects reflect local needs and encourage participation.
• Strategic contribution: Help shape the future of the National Cycle Network by contributing to long-term planning and vision development.
• Monitor and report impact: Analyse and present quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate progress and outcomes.

This role involves regular travel, with work taking place at different locations to support and deliver projects for the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

ABOUT YOU

We ask that you have experience in the following areas:

• Proven ability to manage infrastructure projects, applying recognised project management frameworks to deliver on time, within scope, and to a high standard.
• Skilled at building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of partners, including local authorities, landowners, contractors, and community groups.
• Experience contributing to long-term planning and vision-setting and working collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.
• A practical understanding of active travel infrastructure principles, with awareness of spatial and transport planning considerations.
• Ability to interpret and apply best practice in active travel network design, and familiarity with health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
• Experience in analysing and presenting quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate project progress and impact.
• Exposure to opportunity generation, bid writing, and budget preparation would be an advantage.
