This role plays a vital part in supporting family and friend carers across West Sussex, with a particular emphasis on the Worthing and Adur districts. While you’ll work across all South localities as needed, your main focus will be on these communities.

As a Locality Co-ordinator, you’ll provide line management and guidance to a team of Carer Wellbeing Workers. You’ll work closely with fellow Co-ordinators and the Carer Community Services Manager to help build a strong, responsive local team. Together, you’ll deliver high-quality information, guidance, and wellbeing opportunities that make a real impact in carers’ lives.

This is a hybrid role, combining remote and home working with delivery in community venues. You’ll need to readily travel across Arun, Adur, and Worthing to provide carer support and attend meetings, so familiarity with these areas—whether through work or residence—would be a real advantage.

Job Role

• Team Leadership: Support the Community Services Team Manager with the day-to-day operational management of a team of Locality Wellbeing Workers.

• Line Management: Undertake 1-1s and annual reviews, celebrating successes and implementing effective performance management to support individuals. 

• Carer Support: Provide direct support to a small caseload and use the Carers Star™ to empower carers to create personal plans to achieve positive change.

Key Responsibilities

Advisory

• Provide advice to line managers on employee relations (ER) issues e.g. policies, performance management, end-to-end absence management including return to work meetings, reporting and occupational health referrals etc. Able to resolve complex employee relation issues and conduct investigations where necessary.
• Provide advice to managers across all policy and practice areas, for example on family friendly policies such as maternity, paternity, shared parental leave, carers leave, etc.

The Advice and Representation team plays a vital role in championing student voices and ensuring they receive the support they need throughout their university experience. The team provides independent academic and welfare advice, supports democratic processes, and facilitates student representation across the institution. By working closely with elected officers, Student Voice Leaders, and key stakeholders, the team ensures students are empowered to influence policies, shape their education, and access essential guidance when facing challenges. Role

The role ensures students receive high-quality, independent support and have a strong voice in shaping their university experience. The role oversees both the advice service and student representation structures, managing a team that delivers casework support, representation initiatives, and democratic engagement. Main Responsibilities

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. This is a key role driving the delivery of the Education Programme of a leading mental health charity focused on supporting the systems around children and young people. We are looking for a compassionate, flexible and focused professional with excellent interpersonal skills and experience of managing a complex and substantial portfolio of work, who is eager to work with the CWT team to achieve meaningfully.

The Education Programme Manager’s workload includes supporting a small Education team to deliver specific projects; delivering key organisational projects directly; managing programme level work; liaising with the Education trainers; and supporting Education-related work across the Trust – from fundraising to reporting. • Support and retain oversight of the Clinical Lead’s quality assurance of the Education trainers on an annual basis, or other frequency as agreed. 

• Support CWT’s Fundraising team to identify potential funding opportunities within the Education programme, and at times support bid development by developing viable project proposals swiftly.

• Develop and maintain a strategic overview of ‘the Education landscape’ so as to:

• advise the CEO and Head of Programmes of key developments that will help shape the Education programme’s future direction (alongside freelance experts who are further embedded into specific areas within education), and

• to represent the Trust externally and developing our reach, impact and credibility in new areas, so as to help CWT achieve the growth strategy laid out in our Strategic Business Plan (currently 2025-27).

• Work with other teams within the Trust to identify opportunities for cross programme working to develop engagement with our information, training and services. 

• Manage a small Education team to deliver effectively and efficiently; while supporting their development, embodying a collaborative and supportive leadership culture in line with the Trust’s values. 

• Approve Education programme expenditure as per a delegated budget, including querying unexpected expenditure and highlighting anomalies to the Finance team; and supporting budget development and reforecasting processes by offering a key ‘front line’ perspective on priorities and costs.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. The Education Access Coordinator will equip young asylum seekers and refugees to access further (FE) and higher education (HE) through advice and guidance, 1:1 casework and training for other professionals. 

This role sits within the Education Access team: everything we do is focussed on supporting young refugees and asylum seekers into an appropriate form of education from primary school right the way up to university.

The team is separated into three work streams: access to schools, access to FE and access to HE. We also run a national email and telephone advice service through which young people, their families and the professionals who support them, can receive timely and accurate advice and support about any aspect of accessing education in the UK.

This role straddles the access to FE and HE streams of work and, although it would be helpful to have some experience of working in these sectors, our experience is that this knowledge can be taught and is not as important to us as other qualities and experience.

The successful candidate will, however, need to be able to understand and retain a great deal of complex information and then clearly articulate this to others both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate would be someone who would relish becoming an expert in refugee access to FE and HE and would enjoy the problem solving element of navigating complex regulations to find the right solution for an individual struggling to access education. 

The successful candidate will also need to have experience of and enjoy working with vulnerable young people both individually and in groups. A key element of this role is ongoing casework with individuals - where you will need to build a supportive and trusting relationship over the long term - alongside running one-off workshops for large groups where the priority is to quickly gain young people’s confidence and attention. 

Finally, the successful candidate will be responsible for representing REUK’s access pillar externally.  You will co-deliver training to a high standard as well as maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, FE colleges, universities and other NGOs - it is therefore imperative that you have excellent people skills.

This role can be done 4 or 5 days per week, depending on preference (salary would be pro rata for 4 days).
