The role
The Head of Assessment will lead the ACU’s contribution to the successful delivery of a major education mobility scheme, providing strategic leadership and robust contract management in collaboration with a wide range of UK-based partners (subject to funding being available). This pivotal role demands a results-driven professional with education sector insight and extensive experience in assessment quality, inclusive safety, and operational control. You should be capable of deploying effective tools to monitor progress, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks - ensuring full assurance to the ACU senior team and stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?
You will need:
• Degree level education (with post-graduate qualifications an advantage) or equivalent in professional experience.
• Significant project management experience at a senior level in an educational setting – professional track record and/or appropriate qualifications.
• Demonstrable experience of managing multiple priorities and work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Proven financial skills, with knowledge and experience of budget development, and financial monitoring and reporting.

Summary
We are currently looking to appoint a Home Academy Liaison Officer (HALO) to oversee educational welfare across the academy.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing Educational Welfare across the academy.
- Managing a caseload of ‘at risk’ students, where attendance falls below 85% and implement strategies to improve attendance
- Monitoring and improving the attendance of most vulnerable students
- Ensuring compliance with statutory duties, including reporting persistent and severe absenteeism
- Conducting home visits to engage families and address barriers to school attendance
- Maintaining accurate attendance records and preparing reports
- Representing the academy at external meetings e.g. Social Services Case Conferences, Child in Need Meetings, LAC Reviews
- Communicating effectively with all external agencies including possible alternative providers
- Ensuring effective communication/consultation as appropriate with the parents of students

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you have:
- Qualifications to degree level or equivalent

- Basic knowledge of first aid (e.g. emergency first aid course)
- At least three years’ experience of working in an inner city school or educational establishment in a pastoral capacity
- Experience of dealing successfully with a range of issues influencing poor attendance
- Experience of working with staff to ensure excellent standards of attendance and punctuality
- Experience of working with families
- Experience of working with challenging students and parents, and finding ways in which we can meet their needs more successfully

The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.
The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).
The NST are developing high quality, robust safeguarding learning and development pathways, based on legislative requirements and evidence of good practice. This role will be pivotal to delivering this.
This post will have responsibility for the creation and revision of national safeguarding learning, for planning its implementation and for leading work for the NST on evaluating the effectiveness of the learning pathways offered. Working alongside the Safeguarding Learning and Development Manager (Development Lead) the postholder is responsible for ensuring that the learning pathways are based on best safeguarding practice, adult learning best practice, latest relevant academic research, national legislation and safeguarding policies and guidance.
- This is a 12 month Fixed-term contract
- Hybrid role frequency in the London office (Church House, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3AZ) to be agreed with Line Manager
- A salary of £48,557 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

The Role
The Finance & Operations Coordinator is a central position in a small, purpose-driven team. JOB TITLE: Senior Schools Education Officer - Digital Projects

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):
- Oversee the delivery of our Foundation Digital Blue programme; in line with Foundation outcomes and line management of associated officers and coordinators to ensure all elements meet required standards
- Develop and deliver further Digital Blue programme schemes to inspire participants of all targeted ages involved in the programme – which includes the creation of resources and promotional materials.
- Work collaboratively across the Foundation on our Digital Blue initiatives to identify potential service gaps, and potential for further grants to develop provision.
- Work with the Schools Education Manager and Futures Manager to identify development opportunities and service gaps within existing programmes.
- Support the Philanthropic Partnerships Team and Grants Teams with approaching suitable partners and/or funders as identified to develop programme funding opportunities.
- Attend Local Strategic Partnership Meetings to raise awareness of our local provision, and then network to enhance new funding and delivery opportunities
- Coordinate and devise scheduling or the delivery of Digital Education programme, including schools based and stadium sessions

About the opportunity
We're in a fantastic position to have recently have partnered with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) for an evaluation of our programmes.
We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Manchester.
- The Manchester Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.
- The Manchester Programme Coordinator supports the recruitment of volunteer tutors, manages the tutor sign up process, develops relationships with schools including their Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers, collects data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and works with other internal teams on business development opportunities.

Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. - Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.
- Proactively report to the Programme Manager on the details of Action Tutoring’s operations in their partner schools.
