You’ll hold a small caseload of families while also supporting the smooth running of our service—helping to coordinate hospital visits, review caseloads, and ensure families get the right help at the right time. You’ll play a key role in building strong relationships with hospital teams, supporting service development, and deputising for the Family Support Manager.

This role covers management of our caseload of families across London and Surrey, supporting families linked to our hospital partnerships including Kingston, Royal Marsden, St George’s, Epsom, St Peter’s and Royal Surrey—with the Evelina Children’s Hospital joining in the future.

Role overview

Leadership & Team Support

· Manage a team of Family Support Workers.

· Oversee caseloads and conduct monthly reviews.

· Ensure regular hospital visits are co-ordinated and met as planned, adjusting in line with need. 

· Support the allocation of referrals across the team to make sure families receive timely and appropriate support.

· Contribute to the recruitment, supervision, and development of Family Support Workers.

Family Support Delivery

· Hold a small caseload, providing empathetic, non-judgemental emotional and practical, needs-led, support.

· Plan and attend family events, working with external suppliers where needed.

· Provide regular visits to nominated hospitals and ensure families are linked in with appropriate services.

· Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, safeguarding boards, and service planning discussions.

Hospital & Community Partnerships

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with hospital teams and community partners.

· Maintain regular contact with paediatric teams to share patient updates and identify new needs.

· Deliver presentations and training to raise awareness of Momentum.

· Identify new partnership and referral opportunities in clinical and community settings.

· Support the transition of hospital services from the Royal Marsden to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Service Monitoring & Development

· Support the Family Support Manager in delivering service outcomes and contributing to operational planning.

· Maintain accurate and timely records to support reporting requirements.

We’re looking for someone to plan and organise our activities programme which offers Unpaid Carers in Lewisham the opportunity to have a break from their caring responsibilities in a social environment where they can meet other carers and focus on their wellbeing.

You’ll work closely with the service manager to plan and arrange a wide programme of activities for young and adult Unpaid Carers. This will involve researching activities, and liaising with providers, ensuring health and safety, insurance and other checks are in place, arranging resources and refreshments, completing risk assessments and booking venues.

You will actively promote activities to Unpaid Carers, manage bookings and respond to queries. The role is based in our Carers Hub, so you will interact with Unpaid Carers visiting the team or enquiring about the service. You will also prepare regular newsletters for the service and provide additional admin support to the team as needed.

Applicants should have experience in an admin or activities planning role and excellent customer service skills. You will require exceptional communication, organisational and written skills, and should be proactive and resourceful. You must be proficient in using Word and Excel, and experience of using databases would be an advantage.

The part-time hours (22.5) can be worked as 3 full days or shorter days across the week. Some flexibility is required for occasional evenings or Saturday working.

The Digital Communications Manager is responsible for leading and expanding the Trust's digital presence, ensuring our research, policy priorities, programmes, and alumni stories are shared in an impactful way with external audiences. Reporting to the Head of Communications and Public Affairs, and working closely with one direct report, they will deliver a step change in digital communications activity, driving data-led improvements and developing new and compelling multimedia content for the Trust's website, social media channels and digital communications.

Main duties

Website and digital communications

• Oversee the management and strategic development of the Sutton Trust website and associated microsites.

• Ensure the main site delivers impactful communications showcasing the breadth of the Trust’s work, whilst being responsive to the needs of our key audiences: students, teachers, policymakers, academics and media.

About the role:

We are the Best Companies Top 100 mid-sized organisation and Top 20 Charity is looking to appoint a Family Support Manager to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Thames Valley Care Team.

Reporting to the Head of Care out of our Thames Valley team base and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for delivering a high quality family support service: and will act as the local Registered Manager for the Care Quality Commission, providing management and leadership to the team in relation to all safeguarding issues.

Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment within the community, you have a commitment to working in partnership with children, young people and their families, developing, monitoring and delivering service outcomes and building and maintaining successful professional partnerships to ensure the service is accessible to relevant families.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who understand the impact of family dynamics of having a child/young person with a life threatening or terminal illness and those who have worked in bereavement support.

· A poised and convincing communicator - you will maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including families, referrers, partners and other statutory, private and voluntary agencies.

· Practiced in child protection, information sharing and the rules around data protection - you lead by example, drawing on your own professional experience and working within established guidelines

· Comfortable with a changing environment - you will thrive working at a fast pace and controlling tasks form conception to completion and understand that quickly connecting with people is essential.

· A persuasive, inclusive approach to achieving goals quickly and correctly - with a warm and friendly working style.

· Strong networking skills and confident use of MS Office - educated to A-Level with a recognised childcare and management qualification (NVQ4 or equivalent).

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.
