Job Title: Member and Supporter Acquisition Lead (Maternity Cover)

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £33,367 to £50,051. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £41,709 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Context and purpose of role
At the heart of the Ramblers lies our community of over 100,000 members and supporters, enabling us to fulfil our charitable mission across the length and breadth of Great Britain.
You will drive the growth of the organisation's membership and supporter base through strategic marketing, outreach, and engagement efforts.
This role is vital for expanding the Ramblers reach, enhancing its financial stability, and strengthening its community impact. You will develop and implement effective acquisition strategies, engage potential members and supporters, and foster long-term relationships aligned with the organisation's mission and values. You are a subject-matter expert in fundraising acquisition and digital marketing.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver the Ramblers membership acquisition programme to attract and retain new members and supporters. This includes integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns (including digital and face-to-face) and a test-and-learn approach to optimise conversion rates, sales, ROI and life-time value, with support from the Head of Member and Supporter Experience. At the Ramblers our current key acquisition channels are Digital Marketing, telemarketing and private site.
- Manage our welcome and reactivation programmes (email, mail and telephone).
- Using evidence-based insights, work with the Head of Member and Supporter Experience to evolve the membership proposition (embedding Ramblers new digital assets, platforms, products, offers) to enhance our relevance and reach.
- Manage the acquisition budget of c£500k, producing timely reports to the Head of Member and Supporter Experience on income, expenditure and KPIs to monitor performance against plans. Lead the reforecast process for key lines accountable for and support the budget process.
- Lead key acquisition projects across the organisation, delivering to time and budget.
- Ensure regulatory compliance is embedded across team processes and communications in areas such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), Gift Aid, and the Fundraising Regulator. Ensure any agencies used adhere to the high standards we set.
- Work across teams to develop and deliver engaging supporter journeys that enhance and deepen supporters’ experience of the Ramblers.
- Agency and supplier management – manage and develop strategic relationships with our agencies, including the management of SLAs and performance measures, ensuring consistently high levels of performance.
- Consult, equip and support the Ramblers GB-wide network of volunteer ‘membership ambassadors’ providing tools and resources to grow membership.

- Proven experience in working with external stakeholders/suppliers and managing performance
- Extensive experience in digital marketing for recruitment of supporters/members, including in using Facebook. A subject-matter expert.
- Digitally savvy, with knowledge and experience in testing new ideas through digital channels and an early adopter of new technology and digital products and platforms.
- Proven experience in analysing complex data and building testing plans to inform strategic decisions and solve complex problems.
Desirable:
- A proven track record (more than 2 years’ experience) in recruiting new supporters or members to a charity.
- Experience of working with telemarketing agencies.
- Experience of Private site or using dialogue approaches to recruitment.
- Experience in developing multi-channel supporter journeys for new supporters/members.
- Experience in using Salesforce or other CRMs
- Experience in using an email-marketing platform, like Mailchimp or Marketing Cloud

Summary of the role:
The Income Generation Support Officer will provide day-to-day administrative departmental support and support to the department Director to ensure the successful delivery of the organisation’s operations in an efficient manner. This role will focus on generating reports, tracking progress, and ensuring all the necessary processes relating to compliance, finance and HR are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
About the Role:
- Maintain and improve departmental filing systems to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Prepare purchase orders and document payments according to Muslim Aid’s financial procedure and in conjunction with the Finance team to ensure speedy payment of invoices for internal / external stakeholders.
- Undertake small-scale project work including researching, analysing and recommending next steps.
- Provide support to the IGM management team in responding to correspondence, booking meetings, minute-taking, planning and supporting events, organising travel and preparing travel itineraries and relevant tasks as required.
- Track Managers delivery of action points to ensure timeframes and outcomes are met, escalating to Head or Director of IGM for further action as appropriate.
- Undertake full inbox and extensive diary management, ensuring an effective use of time and preparation of information in advance. Sort, redirect and action emails and review an effective ‘bring up’ system to brief and prepare the Director Income Generation and Marketing for meetings / events.

About This Job
As Fundraising Assistant at sister charities, ACCT UK and CCFA, you will play a key role in the growth of existing fundraising and in the creation of new income streams. About the role
Individual giving is a fantastic, high performing team, generating over £20 million fundraised income per year. Your role will help to plan and develop fundraising strategy, budget management, as well as being responsible for delivering campaigns of significant scale and generating income both now and for the future.
If successful you will be responsible for reaching out to thousands of people across the UK to find new committed supporters, as well as growing long-term engagement with existing supporters through retention communications.

About the Role

STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Deputy Director, Digital Fundraising you will be based in the London office or work remotely and will be part of the Mass Markets Global Support Team. The Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in advancing IRC’s global digital fundraising efforts by providing consultation and hands-on support across paid media, creative development, analytics, and process improvement. Serving as a strategic adviser to country teams, they will guide campaign planning, platform strategy, and performance measurement while handling key relationships with digital agencies and platform partners. They will also support creative process refinement, champion digital ads testing and optimisation, and ensure compliance with data privacy standards. Through thorough analysis and cross-functional collaboration, the role will help refine attribution models, enhance reporting infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement across digital programs. Additionally, the Deputy Director will lead special projects to streamline operations and foster knowledge sharing across the global digital network.
SCOPE AND AUTHORITY

In this role you will provide consultation and guidance on spending decisions about how best to utilise IRC budget on paid digital platforms to maximise income, and responsibility for suggesting, planning and delivering new and engaging ways to introduce prospects to the IRC brand.
Responsibility for Resources:
- Oversee Digital donor acquisition market support and cross market pilots - assessing the market needs and requirements and working with HQ functions to support local market fundraising goals and objectives
- Oversee and assess potential digital acquisition external opportunities available to IRC and advise fundraising markets on implementation.
- Coordination and oversee the work of any and all agencies, freelancers and external consultants required to deliver on the agreed strategic plan.

1) Digital Media Consultation & Support— 40%
- Act as subject-matter guide and adviser on paid platforms (Meta, Google, programmatic and others) for digital country teams.
- Guide efforts to translate digital strategy into campaign and audience recommendations, investment levels and bidding strategies, and measurement approaches.
- Work with internal MarTech colleagues and external digital media agencies to ensure operational readiness - to include pixel/tagging, audiences, budgets, trafficking, and more.
