Overall purpose

We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join our team to help us deliver partnership management to our corporate partners. Having expanded our services into Birmingham and Greater Manchester for the first time, fundraising and charitable activities with our corporate partners are a key area for growth to ensure that our organisational development is sustainable and permanent. Building on our success to date, working with over 50 active partners, our focus is on developing long-lasting and growing relationships that deliver both increased income and outcomes for our refugee clients. You will play your part in supporting and delivering external relationships working across multiple opportunities from staff engagement, hiring initiatives and volunteering projects, that maximise the value for Breaking Barriers, our clients, and our partners.

We are a team of around 70 staff who are all and committed to helping the UK’s refugee communities. The main purpose of the Partnerships Officer role is to support the Partnership Management team on the delivery of first-class account management to our portfolio of corporate partners. Each partnership at Breaking Barriers is bespoke, comprising fundraising, skilled volunteering, awareness raising and, crucially, placement and job opportunities for our refugee clients. This diverse role is perfect for someone looking to make a difference and gain experience working within a corporate partnerships team. The successful candidate will provide crucial administrative, internal/external comms and wider support to the partnership management team. You will work closely with the Breaking Barriers delivery teams to help ensure our shared value partnerships have the maximum impact for our refugee clients.

Key responsibilities 

• Supporting the Partnerships Managers and wider Partnerships team to help deliver bespoke partner activities across our portfolio of 50+ partners.
• Support the Partnerships team with administrative support, financial tracking, and monitoring and evaluation reporting.
• Work closely with the Partnership Managers and Employment teams to support the delivery of workshops, placements, hiring pathways, and volunteering activity with each corporate partner, as well as any additional programmes which are developed to support our refugee clients.
• Manage a portfolio of small partnerships, including fundraising, comms and delivery requirements.
• Create compelling proposals, reports and correspondence in relation to partnership objectives.
• Maintain regular monitoring and updating of our CRM database, ensuring data is updated regularly and timely for reporting requirements.
• Support on logistics and creation of key external events or projects.
• Champion the value of refugees and work collaboratively with colleagues across the UK to drive our mission forward.

Senior Personal Safety Assessor

Age UK Croydon’s very successful Personal Safety Project (Falls Prevention) for older people in Croydon is recruiting a new Senior Personal Safety Assessor. If you are an enthusiastic, passionate and organised individual, this could be the role for you.

Our Personal Safety Project (PSP) is a free service which aims to help older people who have fallen or are at risk of falling at home. The service is available to anyone aged 50 and over who lives in the borough of Croydon.

Our trained assessors carry out a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential causes of falls and hazards in the home and can arrange for stair rails, grab handles and other necessary aids and adaptations to be supplied and/or fitted, free of charge. The project can provide ongoing telephone support for up to six weeks to monitor the risk of further falls post engagement.

We’re currently recruiting two full-time Peer Support Workers to work in our Sutton and Merton offices.

These 2 posts are part of a partnership between local voluntary sector organisations and South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust. Both posts focus on offering a range of emotional, social and practical wellbeing support to young adults aged 18-25. These posts do not require a formal mental health qualification. The Peer Support Worker posts are designated for those with their own lived experience of mental health challenges who have reached a point in their recovery where they feel ready to support others on their mental health journey.  

For these roles you need to have an open and flexible attitude; an understanding of mental health; excellent engagement skills and a passion for working with young people. All posts are full-time office based and will require flexible working across service areas and interventions and will involve some regular evening and/or weekend work to meet the needs of young people.

• Research and identify opportunities for growth, including expansion of existing provisions, acquiring schools/college centres and developing new service models

We are seeking a Training Officer for a maternity cover, to lead and deliver impactful in-person training events that support early years professionals across the UK.

Position: Training Officer (Events) – Maternity Cover

Location: Huddersfield/Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum

Contract:  Maternity cover to June 2026

The Role

As a key member of the Quality and Training team, you’ll take the lead in managing in-person training events. From initial planning to post-event evaluation, you will ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard and in line with organisational goals. You will play a central role in upholding the quality and impact of member events.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, coordinating, and hosting in-person training events across the UK
• Ensuring Associate Trainers are booked and prepared with relevant materials
• Liaising with stakeholders including trainers, customers, and venue providers
• Managing budgets, financial records, and procurement processes
• Supervising a Training Administrator to deliver excellent customer service
• Reporting on KPIs and training impact to managers and stakeholders
• Supporting product development and identifying training needs
• Organising the charity Talk and ad hoc online events with marketing and PR support
• Leading customer engagement from registration through to post-event feedback

About You

You’ll be highly organised and confident in managing events from concept to completion. With strong administrative and communication skills, you’re comfortable managing multiple priorities and working with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll bring energy to your team and take pride in delivering training that makes a difference.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven experience in training or events management
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office and database systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Financial administration and budget monitoring experience
• Ability to work flexibly and travel within the UK as needed

Desirable:

• Experience using video conferencing tools
• Degree in events management or a related field

Full Time. Permanent. Hybrid working

This role can be based in any of our UK locations; Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, or Warrington. 

You will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 2 days per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.
