Purpose of the Role
To lead on the recruitment, development, training, and well-being of a team of volunteers who deliver vital Home-Start support to families. The role involves managing a caseload of volunteers and supporting families directly where appropriate. Over the course of the year, an average of one day per week will be dedicated to leading volunteering strategy and practice, with the remainder focused on family support delivery.
Key Responsibilities. As Volunteer Lead Co-ordinator you will:
- Carry out initial home-visits and support families to set and monitor goals
- Match volunteers with families according to need and capacity
- Supervise an appropriate caseload of volunteers and enable them to support families
- Monitor safeguarding concerns and liaise with the Operations Manager/Director as needed
- Lead volunteer recruitment to grow and sustain HSH’s diverse pool of volunteers
- Create marketing materials (flyers, social media, newsletter content) in collaboration with Communications and Campaigns Coordinator (CCC
- Oversee and co-ordinate the delivery of Volunteer Preparation Courses
- Organise / deliver a programme of training sessions for current volunteers
- Lead on annual volunteer social events and develop ongoing opportunities for volunteer recognition and reward

About the role
You will be at the forefront of establishing a centrally-located PMO to embed project excellence in a mission-driven environment, operating both strategically and hands on across the King’s Fund. Job purpose
The Executive and Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, operational, and executive support to enhance the effectiveness of Toynbee Hall’s Advice Services directorate. The Roundhouse’s 13-person fundraising team has recently increased its ambitious annual target, largely driven by strong performance from the Trusts and Statutory team. Trusts and statutory funding is a core part of this model. Job description
Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Project Manager and SCONUL Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Organising the schedule of meetings for the SCONUL Board and SCONUL working Groups.
- Managing the diary of the Executive Director.
- Supporting the delivery of the SCONUL Access Scheme including:
- answering routine queries from Access Scheme users, applicants and university administrators
- providing SCONUL Access contacts with timely and relevant information about the scheme
- providing routine technical support to applicants and university contacts responsible for processing applications and refer potentially more complex or disruptive technical problems
- drafting changes to website content to reflect the scheme’s current practice and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of SCONUL events including:
- drafting and following up invitations to speakers and other participants with support from the Project Manager
- managing and processing events registrations
- booking accommodation and travel arrangements when required
- production of event documentation
- helping to manage events on site, including briefing and managing colleagues, volunteers, and external suppliers, supporting, advising and directing event participants.

The finance department is responsible for the overall financial management and administration of the 4million turnover at GSU. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, including HMRC, Charities Commission, Companies House, and pensions. This includes supporting our annual external financial audit.
The finance team act as Business Partners to the rest of the organisation ensuring they understand financial processes to aid effective working. The team also work alongside our external payroll provider and our external digital system provider to ensure smooth and effective working.
Job Purpose:
Provide a professional, accurate, and timely accounting service in respect to all management and statutory reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external support services to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department, ensuring excellence in service delivery.
Reports to:
- Currently reporting to the CEO whilst the senior management role in the Finance Department is under review. The senior management post is currently vacant.
Responsible for:
- Supporting, managing, supervising, and developing one Finance Coordinator and one Finance Assistant.

1. Management and Statutory Reporting:

- Project management and delivery of the WeRPollards project (2 days/week), a grassroots local initiative running from September 2025 to September 2026

Role overview
Leadership & Service Delivery
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of family support across all regions, ensuring services are accessible, consistent, and impactful.
- Line manage a skilled team including Family Support Workers, a Senior Family Support Worker, and a Senior Social Worker.
- Oversee referrals and caseloads, ensuring support is tailored to each family’s needs.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing safeguarding policy, training, and practice.
- Monitor service outcomes and contribute to strategic planning and budget management.
- Participate in the on-call family support rota (occasional weekends).
Hospital & Community Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital teams across London, Surrey, and Sussex. Including, St George’s Tooting, Royal Marsden Sutton/Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Kingston Hospital, St Peter’s Hospital Chertsey, Epsom Hospital, Royal Surrey Hospital Guildford, East Surrey Hospital Redhill, Worthing Hospital
- Represent the charity in multidisciplinary meetings, safeguarding boards, and service planning discussions.
- Support the transition of services to Evelina London Children’s Hospital.
- Identify new partnership, across new regions and referral opportunities in clinical and community settings.

Person specification
Essential
- Significant experience working directly with children and families.
- Background in health, education, care, or social support.
- Proven experience leading and managing staff teams.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and experience as a DSL.
- Knowledge of the emotional impact of serious illness and bereavement on families.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and digital literacy.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and evaluating service delivery.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Reliable internet and suitable space for remote working.

- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., social work, nursing, education, counselling) or equivalent experience.
