Your expertise will be instrumental in solidifying the Cathedral’s financial position, optimising its resources, and advancing our service to the community.
Following the implementation of the Cathedrals’ Measure 2021, and the registration of Portsmouth Cathedral as a charity in March 2024, the new role of Chief Finance Officer, funded by the Cathedrals Sustainability Fund, will support Chapter, the Cathedral’s governing body, in offering strategic financial leadership. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the CFO will be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will manage a small team and will oversee the operational processes and functions, and communicate the necessary assurances, information and reports to the Senior Management Team, Chapter and the Board of our to be established trading company periodically. This will involve communicating complex financial ideas and information to a range of stakeholders (mostly non-financial).
The successful candidate will be CAEW, ACCA or CIMA Qualified or similar and be able to show continued professional and personal development . They will have:
- Demonstrable experience in strategic financial leadership, with a track record of leading financial governance, compliance, and team development.

Strong knowledge of VAT, tax planning, and advanced accounting practices.

Excellent verbal and written communicator with an enthusiastic can-do approach and the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders clearly and effectively.

Experience of dealing with colleagues, trustees and stakeholders.

Excellent analytical and reporting skills, proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with a multi-fund accounting software

Job Purpose:
- Manage the digital assets of Islamic Relief UK, particularly the website, ensuring that it operates in an optimal manner.
- Manage the development, evolution and/or integration of digital assets, e.g. digital giving platforms and digital events management systems.
- Ensure all development projects have well considered user interfaces and provide an optimal user experience.
- Provide the Digital Marketing team support with technical SEO, email marketing, and tracking/reporting across key digital marketing platforms.
The successful candidate must have:
- Proven record of excellent people and interpersonal skills with strong communication skills at individual and group levels.
- Experience of managing web development projects
- Experience of working with internal clients and diverse teams
- Experience of delivering with a marketing budget and using resources effectively to successfully balance creative aspirations with limited financial and other resources

- A comprehensive knowledge of CMSs, preferably WordPress
- Working knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, SQL and JavaScript and version controlling with Git
- Experienced in interpreting data from Google Analytics, Google Search Console and other analytic platforms
- In-depth understanding of UX and UI in the context of web design
- Knowledge and understanding of implementing technical SEO
- Commercially aware, with good understanding of budget management
- Ability to communicate technical information and requirements to non-technical management and internal stakeholders
- Experienced in working from wireframes and written design briefs to build mobile responsive solutions
- An aptitude for managing short-term projects effectively
- An understanding of marketing trends and the charity market

Oasis Ashburton Park are now in a position to employ an experienced Youth Development Lead to work alongside wider team in Croydon. The role will be focussed on the Ashburton Park area (surrounding Oasis Academies; Arena, Shirley Park and Ryeland’s) working closely with the academies as part of Oasis Ashburton Park and the ‘100 Years of Ashburton Park’ Project funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund.
As a Youth Development Lead you will;
- Develop and oversee a Youth Advisory Panel to ensure that youth voice is central to the design of our Youth Engagement Programme and the 360 Youth Centre.
- Develop and oversee the Youth Engagement Programme as part of the ‘100 years of Ashburton Park Project’ including a range of activities in and nearby to Ashburton Park, including after school drop-in’s, evening sessions, group work and one-one mentoring.
- Support the development and engagement of young people in a Food Growing Enterprise based at Ashburton Lodge.
- Work closely with Croydon Council and other partners to support young people to engage with a wide range of programmes and activities that are part of the ‘100 years of Ashburton Park Project’.
- Deliver open access sessions, group and one to one interventions with young people including; half term, afterschool, evenings and residentials, using a planned youth work curriculum.
- Line manage youth workers, sessional youth workers and youth volunteers to plan, deliver and evaluate youth work termly.
- Contribute to the development of youth work across the area and lead on specific areas of work on behalf of the team.
Amongst other requirements, the successful post holder must have:
· Relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC), Social Work (QSW) or SEND.
· Proven experience working with young people ‘at risk’.
· Reliability, with a flexible approach to changes and able to work unsociable hours.
· Experience of project and/or people management
