Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity is looking for a Skills Development Manager to support with building a learning culture across the organisation.  

Centrepoint help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year. Our staff work in frontline services and offices in locations across London and the North/North East. Our aim is, with the help of our partners, to end youth homelessness by 2037.

We are looking for an experienced people manager for our Skills Development team. This team creates and delivers internal training for Centrepoint colleagues. This role will lead a small team of trainers who design and deliver training both under an existing curriculum and new developments as demand requires. We are ideally looking for a manager with a background in Health & Social care, Social Housing, local authority, charity sector and/or delivering and developing training.

What you’ll be doing

The Skills Development Manager is responsible for a team who are developing a robust, diverse, inclusive and inspiring curriculum across the organisation. We are developing a large amount of new and exciting courses across a wide range of subjects, so we are open to individuals with a variety of experience. To ensure colleagues are suitability supported the role holder will be responsible for liaising with managers, HR and other functions to ensure that team members have access to training that fits around organisational requirements and that all team members are safe and competent.

The role will also include elements of operational management such as ensuring a demand lead programme of training, reporting to demonstrate progress and highlight areas of focus, processing invoices, supporting staff completing external apprenticeships and external stakeholder management.
