From navigating maternity care to accessing women's health support, our trained volunteers walk alongside other women with compassion, understanding, and advocacy. Our volunteers form a community of women bound by a shared passion for making a difference for other women. Our volunteers are the golden threads, holding our programmes together, bringing possibility to everything we do. They are our Maternity Mates, peer group supporters for those who have expereinced birth trauma or baby loss, trainee counsellors, language translators and so much more.
We are looking for a passionate, organised, and person-focused individual to guide our volunteers through their training and support journeys — from that very first conversation to being fully prepared and confident in their volunteer role. You will coordinate and lead on tasks that ensure a smooth, supportive volunteer experience where each thrives, while also creating spaces for connection, celebration, and storytelling.
We’re looking for someone who:

- Has experience of working with volunteers from diverse and marginalised backgrounds
- Has a commitment to safeguarding, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practice
- Communicates with warmth, empathy, and clarity.

- Is comfortable with admin, databases, and digital tools.
- Can balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking.

Faithworks is seeking an inspiring leader to oversee Poole Lifecentre - a vibrant hub centred on a busy foodbank and a range of essential services for individuals and families in crisis. Alongside food staples, fresh fruit/veg and cooking packs, the Lifecentre provides help with housing, debt, isolation, lone parenting and more. Working in-house and with partners, it delivers both urgent practical help and longer-term “walk-alongside” support that enables people to rebuild stability and hope.
About the role
You will lead the centre’s staff, volunteers, and partner network, ensuring the delivery of practical help, relational support, and spiritual encouragement in a safe, welcoming environment. You’ll champion our values - Welcoming, Alongside, Trusted, Practical, and Empowering - while building strong partnerships with local churches, agencies, and supporters.
What you’ll be doing:

Overseeing day-to-day operations across the main site and satellites.

Recruiting, equipping, and encouraging a thriving volunteer team.

Building partnerships with churches, statutory agencies, and community groups.

Developing services that respond to local needs - e.g. debt advice, community meals, lone-parent support.

Promoting the Lifecentre so it’s seen as a trusted place to receive and give support.

Ensuring the highest standards in safeguarding, health & safety, and professionalism.

Is a practising Christian, ready to share the hope of Christ with gentleness and respect (occupational requirement under Equality Act 2010).

This role is part of our Parks 4 All project – a partnership with local and national Disabled people’s and carers’ organisations, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Together, we’re breaking down barriers so that everyone can enjoy the free health and wellbeing benefits of our parks.
You’ll lead on creating and running accessible volunteering opportunities, from sensory walks to nature-based activities, and support local community groups to make their parks more inclusive. You’ll work closely with Disabled people and carers (DP&C) to co-develop solutions, champion their voices, and make a real difference.

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people.
This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.This role offers great opportunity to work innovatively and responsively to support the genuine needs of LGBTQ+ young people.
In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth group support programmes (12- 24 year olds) & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one-to-one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff. You will have the responsibity to support volunteer mentors.
You will be responsible for the direct delivery of elop’s LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of volunteers and interns. You will work alongside the wider staff team to support elop’s work with LGBTQ+ young people and contribute to sustainable service development.
The delivery of group support and activities will take place in person, and you will be office based three days a week with some remote working on other days before returning to full time in person working.
Full Time: 37 hours per week
You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon. There will be occasional other evenings / weekend working required.
