FUNDRAISING EVENTS OFFICER

The Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) aims to create and develop the conditions that will enable people who have Down's syndrome to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives. We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Fundraising Events Officer to join our fundraising team.

Reporting to the Fundraising and Events Manager, the successful candidate will manage all challenge events in the portfolio.  This includes the planning, organisation, marketing, delivery, recruitment and stewardship of participants and day to day administration for all DSA events.

Candidates should have at least 3 years work experience in Events.

The Main Responsibilities of the role are:

Assist the Fundraising and Events Manager with future event plans and creating and building on our Community Fundraising offer.

Managing the Events Inbox; Replying to all enquiries coming into the inbox.

Sending out application forms via email and any other information requested by the supporter.

Input all application form information onto Saleforce, ensuring GDPR is adhered to at all times. Set reminders on all records – FR chasing, Good Luck emails, Thank You Letter reminders, etc. to keep on top of everyone’s supporter journey.

Assist in the sale of items from the shop- especially Christmas cards, socks and merchandise.

Work closely with the Communications Team to develop promotional plans for each event maximising recruitment and exposure through our newsletter and social media platforms.

Provide support to your team members during particularly busy times (and vice versa) such as Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week.

Attend and participate in events as required.  This may involve occasional evening and weekend work, for which you will receive equal time back in lieu.

To work in conjunction with the Fundraising Team in the production of budgets and in developing and implementing the Events teams strategic plans in order to maximise income and support across our events programme.

Identify and research new opportunities to develop the events programme and maximise income as well as maintaining and extending the existing events which generate a healthy ROI.

Work with the membership officer to develop relationships with members, supporters who participate in events taking responsibility for the supporter journey; providing motivation and encouragement from start to finish to ensure they continue to support.

Evaluate the current processes and procedures with the Fundraising and Events Manager and implement improvements where necessary.

Manage the fundraising pages of the website ensuring copy is up to date and relevant and those events that require extra marketing are featured on the home page.

To undertake any other duties as required by the Fundraising Manager that fall within the grade and remit of this post.

The Mix Stowmarket Ltd. is an established youth charity working with young people across Mid Suffolk. We have recently appointed our new CEO, who takes up post in October 2025.  We now seek an experienced Head of Finance and Data to support the senior team as they lead The Mix into its next chapter, with prime responsibility to provide sound and rigorous financial and data leadership across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Finance and Data, you will be an experienced, and trusted professional, who can bring strong financial and data disciplines to the organisation.

Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement The Mix’s financial and data strategies that are aligned to our vision to expand the reach of our crucial support of young people in Suffolk.

You will have a thorough understanding of financial accounting and planning relevant to the charity and social-enterprise sectors, with a strong attention to detail.

You will be passionate about the use of financial and non-financial data to inform business decisions and be an effective analyst and communicator of business performance.
 
You may come from the youth, charity, health, education, or social enterprise sectors — but above all we welcome candidates who can bring the vision, leadership and heart to shape the future of fundraising and marketing at The Mix.

Main Responsibilities

1. Financial leadership

· Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and practices.

· Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

· Lead the Finance sub-committee

· Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and relevant analysis of performance, at a project, site, and business level.

· Manage financial risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

· Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board.

2. Data Strategy and Management
 

· Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy.

· Ensure data quality, security, and governance.

· Drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

· Chair the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group.

· Oversee data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

· Collaborate with other departments on data-related initiatives.
 

3. Stakeholder Engagement
 

· Communicate financial and data insights to senior management, the CEO, the Board, and stakeholders.

· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Function as a point of contact for audit and regulatory inquiries.
 

4. Team leadership and development
 

· Lead and mentor the finance and data team.

We are excited to offer trainee positions within the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holders will work within OTR as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering brief, focused, evidence-based psychological interventions in the form of low-intensity support and guided self-help to young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience whilst also completing a Graduate or Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies Practice (Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Children, Young People and Families) delivered by the University of Exeter.

The post holders will attend all university-based teaching and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed curriculum, and work within OTR services for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

• Taking responsibility for the overall management and operation of the store.

Finance and Business Support Officer

Salary: £30,500p.a. FTE (£24,400p.a. pro-rata if a 30-hour week)

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our IT team, helping to provide support to users across our locations.

This role will receive support and ongoing guidance from across the team to build on your experience so a keenness to learn and develop your skills is key.

You will ideally have experience of supporting a wide range of end users in a Microsoft network using Windows 11 and Office 365. The Events & Fundraising Manager will work at the heart of our public events programme, helping to organise fundraising walks and other events across London and the South East, and raising funds to support the provision of free legal advice. Our events include the London Legal Walk -- an annual event which raises over £1 million each year -- regional Legal Walk events, and other fundraising events such as the Great Legal Quiz and the Great Legal Bake. LLST also purchases places for third party events such as the London Marathon, Brighton Marathon, and Big Half. We also raise money through individual and corporate donations.

The Events & Fundraising Manager's principal role is to manage these events and promote our fundraising in support of free legal advice charities in London and the South East. Your main duties and responsibilities will include the following:

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis because of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. Our specialist Youth Service provides holistic, one to one casework and a programme of activities and trips. We are looking for an experienced, proactive Mental Health Practitioner to manage our Registered Recovery Service in Whalley Range, Manchester. You'll lead a dedicated team providing person-centred care for 11 individuals with enduring mental health needs and one with a learning disability.

Our service focuses on developing skills and confidence for independent living and an active lifestyle. We empower service users, encouraging self-management, resilience, and strength-based approaches rooted in respect and positive regard.

In this role, you'll support the Service Manager in line-managing the team, meeting service user goals, conducting holistic assessments, and creating support plans with accurate records on our ECCO system. Strong customer care and proactive communication skills are essential for managing risk and ensuring service user welfare.

You'll demonstrate warmth, compassion, and build trusting relationships based on empathy and respect. Engage service users in meaningful planning and therapeutic activities, working collaboratively with their families and mental health professionals and agencies. An up-to-date understanding of recovery principles, mental health legislation, and interventions is required, along with knowledge of the MHA, MCA, DOLs, and care standards.

Ensure safe management and administration of medicines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to plan and organise care delivery, with flexibility to work shifts on a rota system.

A minimum of 2 years practitioner experience, supervisory/management experience, and a relevant health or social care qualification (such as RMN/DipSW, degree, or Diploma Level 5) is essential. Be well-organised, professional, and credible with multidisciplinary team members, demonstrating leadership and management competencies.

Overview

The Olive Tree Cancer Support Group (the Olive Tree), is a registered Charity, dedicated to the relief of the physical and/or emotional distress of persons with cancer and their partners, families, friends and carers, through the provision of services, operating from its support centres in Crawley and Horsham.

A Centre Manager is being sought to manage all aspects of the Horsham centre, working closely with the Crawley Centre Manager and reporting to the Board of Trustees, delivering the charity’s goals and long-term strategy. The responsibilities include staff and volunteer management and recruitment, onboarding new patients / service users, engaging with external stakeholders and all other operational and day to day financial matters, including supervision of team members responsible for fundraising activities, social media and communications. 

Salary: £31,000 to £35,000, depending on experience

Full time, Monday – Friday, flexible as required.

Location: Lavinia House, Horsham with some local travel.

Knowledge and Experience

· Experience of supporting vulnerable people

· Experience of planning and implementing in a service based organisation

· Knowledge of national and local cancer care, support and information, including holistic approaches

· Knowledge of good practice in user involvement

· Experience of monitoring, evaluation and continuous development of services

· Experience of team management and development of staff through personal development plans

· Experience of recruiting, retaining and working with volunteers

· Understanding of cancer and the effect it has on patients and those supporting them
