What is the role?
Reporting to the Director of People, you will lead the development and delivery of our Learning and Development strategy, ensuring it aligns with our organisational priorities and values.
You will:
· Lead learning, education and organisational development initiatives across the hospice.
· Develop leadership and management capability at all levels.
· Oversee mandatory training, compliance and workforce development programmes.
· Work closely with clinical leaders to support education, competency development and best practice.
· Drive a culture of continuous learning, engagement and improvement.
· Build strong partnerships with external organisations, including healthcare and education providers.
· Lead and develop a passionate and dedicated Learning and Development team.
About you
You will be a strategic and collaborative leader with significant experience of leading learning, development, education or organisational development functions.
You will bring:
· Experience of developing and implementing organisation-wide learning strategies.
· A strong understanding of leadership development, organisational development and workforce capability.
· Experience of leading teams and managing budgets.
· Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
· A passion for developing people and creating inclusive, high-performing cultures.
Experience within healthcare, hospice, charity or public sector settings would be advantageous.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Finance to help us ensure the finance function is fit for purpose so that we can deliver our ambitious 10-year strategy.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & IT, this is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the day–to–day management of the finance function, responsible for monthly financial reporting including quarterly reforecasts and co ordinating the annual budget as well as partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation.You will also lead on the annual accounts and external audit.
Managing a team of 3 (2.2 FTE), you will ensure the organisation continues to deliver robust financial control, insightful charity reporting and effective support to operational teams.

Summary Purpose - what you will be achieving:
The Policy Directorate brings together the Academy’s policy, analysis and external affairs functions to address major science and health policy issues in the UK and internationally. Strategic leadership across external affairs

- Position the Academy as an authoritative voice on medical science, policy priorities and the wider health system.
- Build and sustain high-level influencing relationships across parliament and political parties, national bodies, arm’s-length agencies, health systems and sector leaders.
FORUM and commercial
- Oversee and evolve the Academy’s FORUM to align with policy priorities and maximise its impact as a neutral, cross-sector convening space exploring scientific innovation, technological trends and strategic priorities shaping UK healthcare.
- Lead the transformation of FORUM into a leading UK convenor, including membership growth, securing contributions from organisations, and delivering at least six high-quality convenings per year.
- Contribute to income-generating initiatives within approved budgets and ensure external-facing activities support organisational sustainability.
Leadership within the organisation
- As a member of the Academy Leadership Team (Heads and Directors), contribute to organisational strategy, cultural development and the transformation programme.
- Provide senior leadership on organisational measurement, impact reporting and securing external funding.
Financial and governance responsibilities
- Oversee budgets associated with external affairs and related programmes.
- Ensure compliance with governance processes, financial controls and risk management.
Requirements
- Strong track record in public affairs, political strategy or policy influencing, with demonstrable success securing policy adoption and measurable outcomes.

The Vacancy
We are looking for a talented Research and Development Officer to join our children and families team at Research in Practice. In this role you will develop and deliver accessible content and learning activities that promote evidence-informed practice and policy across child and family social care, youth and family justice as part of our annual delivery programme for our partners. You will also be involved in the delivery of commissioned project work.
The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering resources, workshops, webinars, and events for a range of audiences, including senior leaders.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong written and editorial skills, excellent facilitation skills and who is confident distilling complex information into accessible learning materials. While the position requires engagement with and understanding of research, it is not a primary research role.
Key responsibilities are:
- Producing evidence-informed practice and policy resources in a range of formats (e.g. publications, videos, podcasts, animations). This includes evidence scoping, content development, commissioning, project management, editing, writing and quality assuring resources from inception to publication.
- Leading the development and delivery of concise, accessible content and learning activities to enable the development of evidence-informed practice and policy in the sector.
- Developing and facilitating learning sessions and events with a range of participants, including senior leaders across the sector.
- Working on a range of commissioned project work, from development/design through to analysis; presenting findings on completion and representing Research in Practice in project teams with academic and practice partners.
- Building strong relationships with sector experts and effectively managing relationships with authors, facilitators, people with lived experience and those working in research, policy and practice.

As Legacy and In-Memory Giving Manager (Maternity Cover), you will lead one of CHAS’s most meaningful income streams at a pivotal moment, inspiring supporters to create lasting impact through gifts in Wills and in memory of loved ones.
Purpose
In this role you will lead, develop and deliver CHAS’s legacy and in‑memory giving strategy and campaigns, strengthening relationships with supporters and colleagues to grow long‑term income and lifetime value. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will ensure legacy and in memory campaigns inspire support now and, in the future, and play a key part in shaping the future of children’s palliative care in Scotland through your fundraising. This maternity cover comes at a defining time for CHAS as we deliver our £20 million More than a Hospice Appeal, a once-in-a-generation chance to redesign how Scotland cares for children with life-shortening conditions and their families – giving families real choice so they can be cared for at home, in hospital or in a hospice, and that they feel held, supported and not alone.
This is the biggest campaign in CHAS’ history, and as a member of the Income Generation & Engagement Management Team, you will play a key role in its delivery, having impact long beyond your time at CHAS.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.
Position: S11376 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based, Mid Cornwall and West Cornwall. However, Frequent travel will be required as part of this role (to include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 24 hours per week x 2 posts available (one is a maternity cover contract)
Salary: Circa £19,400 per annum (FTE circa £28,300 per annum)

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
- Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

This role requires extensive travel across Cornwall to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

The Role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach in the East of England, you will have the ability to support stroke survivors to identify their goals. Using strong assessment skills and a person-centred approach enabling them to maximise their recovery and improve communication.
