Are you the right person for the job?
· Strategic leadership experience and experience of working with a board

What will your role look like?
You will provide strategic leadership and direction to enable the CAYSH group to achieve its mission – to provide a safe home and better futures for young single homeless people and vulnerable adults.
Working in collaboration with the Board of Trustees/Directors and the leadership team, you will ensure the effective operational performance and success. The role is pivotal in continued growth and sustainability of the organisation and to improve the lives of our service users.
Main Responsibilities
· Drive the values of the CAYSH Group, raise its profile and develop a motivated and high performing workforce which is responsive to the needs of service users
· Be responsible for compliance with the organisation’s legal and regulatory duties
· In collaboration with the board, develop and implement strategic and business plans
· Oversee the CAYSH Group’s budgeting process and monitor financial performance
· Proactively grow income by developing business opportunities and securing donations
· Oversee the tender process with the Executive team, directing the acquisition of new business with governmental and charitable organisations and local authorities
· Support the leadership team to achieve their objectives in the areas of business development, operations, financial management, business support and compliance and HR, ensuring that outcomes for service users are at the heart of all we achieve
· Be a champion for equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring that these principles are integrated into all aspects of the CAYSH Group and that its HR and employment processes match the values and ethos of the organisation
· Lead in creating an engaging and positive culture that inspires and motivates our passionate and hard-working team

Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK-registered charity (1081455) offering funding (Awards), training and media profile to inspiring leaders of wildlife conservation projects across the Global South. We support pragmatic, sustainable, and long-lasting work rooted in science and community involvement. The opportunity
“Saving our planet is now a communications challenge. We know what to do, we just need the will” Sir David Attenborough. WFN is a fundraising and grant-giving nature conservation charity. Established in 1993, we have channelled £23 million to 220 conservation leaders in 80 countries across the Global South, benefitting wildlife, landscapes, and people. We are now seeking to expand the team in line with our activities by recruiting a Communications Assistant to maintain and grow the organisation’s online communications across digital and social media platforms and support the team with office administration and event organisation. The post-holder should be keen to make a difference by working in a small team across an impactful organisation. As well as creating compelling content for our core communications platforms, you’ll also provide valuable support to our ambitious press plan, helping to amplify the voice of Pilgrims’ Friend Society in local and national media.

The Opportunity

Develop the organisation’s internal communications and engagement strategy, in line with the overall People & Culture Strategy, policies and best practice. Lead and implement a programme of internal communications and engagement initiatives that ensures AAUK staff feel connected to and engaged with the mission and objectives of the organisation, and boosts staff engagement levels. Responsible for ensuring all comms and engagement activities are promoting our feminist principles, anti-racist and decol agenda and contributing to the overall staff experience and employee proposition as an employer of choice.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be asked to participate in criminal records checks at the point of offer.

ActionAid UK has a hybrid working policy for many of our roles. The requirement will vary from team to team and the responsibilities of individual roles. As a minimum, all colleagues are expected to attend the office 12 days per year, plus additional time for induction, training, and “Company Connection days.” Some roles may require in-office attendance on all days and if so, these will clearly be marked as in-office roles.
