The Catholic Diocese of Northampton covers the traditional counties of Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, together with the town of Slough, a Unitary Authority within Berkshire.

The Diocese is involved in many different areas of life. Not just in parishes, but also in schools, hospitals, prisons and religious communities; working with people with disabilities, and with the young and the old; promoting the value of family and of marriage; caring for the poor, the homeless and those who live at the margins of society.

With its southern edge resting on the Thames and its northern tip in the East Midlands, it is by no means the smallest English diocese. There are 69 principal parishes with another 26 "satellite churches", chapels of ease, and a few more Mass centres in private schools and other institutions. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Diocese, with a particular focus on the effective management of property, land, and other physical assets. The COO will ensure that Diocesan operations support the mission of the Church, are financially sustainable, and are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in safeguarding and enhancing the Diocese’s Mission and the supporting physical estate for current and future generations.

COMMUNITY EVENTS / OUTREACH

• Plan and implement a programme of attendance at external events such as Naval Charity Days

  • Maintaining and updating an events calendar for assessment of attendance by the Charity

  • Ensure event checklist is completed for approval of costs involved with each event and signed off by HOO or CEO.

  • Arrange site for charity gazebo.

  • Ensure manned throughout event by postholder and volunteers.

  • Put together all items required for event.

  • Ensure appropriate risk assessments/licences in place.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety throughout the event.

  • Publicise events using Social Media and website

• Children’s competitions (such as Art or seasonal) to be run to increase awareness into schools

• Support the caseworking team in their community outreach programme with resources and liaison with areas as required. This programme focuses on areas containing a high population of Naval personnel to include (but not limited to) Culdrose, Yeovilton, Plymouth and Devon.

• Reach out to families through attendance at community events, presentations to schools and other organisations.

VOLUNTEERS & FUNDRAISING

• Develop, manage, train and steward a network of regional volunteers and individual fundraisers, particularly in areas with strong Naval presence.

Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader at Woodview, Birmingham. 

The post holder will lead the development of the Hub, situated on the periphery of central Birmingham, serving the community of the Woodview estate, supporting the Oasis Academy and wider local community. The role will hold the vision of integrated community delivery, which will include a range of projects such as family support, volunteering, advice and support, community events.
