The role

Business Disability Forum has recently restructured its corporate services function.

The Finance Manager role will be a pivotal position in the newly formed Resources Directorate. This role will work closely with the Resources Director and lead on financial management.

In addition, the Finance Manager will have the remit to optimise and innovate our ways of working by embedding controls, automating processes (where feasible), optimising the use of our systems and streamlining financial reporting.

The requirement

• Strong knowledge and understanding of FRS102, Charities SORP, PAYE and VAT through experience and/or accountancy qualification.
• Experience of preparing monthly management reporting and year end accounts.
• Proven ability to prepare insightful management information packs including KPI’s and dashboards.
• Advanced use of excel formulas.
• Ability to work collaboratively with peers to deliver budgets, forecast and project level analysis.

About the role

We are seeking a Branch Finance Manager to provide financial oversight, compliance support and business services across our national branch network and National Support Centre.

You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, accurate reporting and consistent compliance across branches, working closely with staff and volunteers to strengthen financial governance and operational effectiveness.

Job description

DMI is looking for a motivated Finance Manager to join our friendly team in London. Working closely with the Head of Finance and the finance team in the UK, and liaising with relevant staff in DMI’s international offices, the successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring that DMI’s finances are managed effectively and in line with internal policies and statutory requirements.

More specifically, the Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Key responsibilities

1. Supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring that DMI complies with relevant financial legislation and regulatory requirements in the UK and internationally. For a well-known charity in central London, we're recruiting a permanent FP&A Lead to join a high-performing finance team. This role will design and deliver accurate and timely financial information, supporting the decision-making process for stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified bookkeeper to join our small staff team in a part-time Finance Manager role. As a successful local charity with a committed and engaged board of Trustees, you'll be helping support young people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

You'll be responsible for managing the charity's day-to-day financial matters, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded, maintaining compliance with statutory and charity requirements and tracking specific project funds so the organisation can report transparently to donors and trustees. The role is available either as paye or on a freelance basis at £25 per hour. It's mainly remote working, with occasional time spent in the Twickenham office. 

Responsibilities

• Dealing with all the day-to-day financial activities of the charity (the charity uses QuickBooks). In particular, processing and setting up for payment, supplier invoices and expense claims; issuing invoices for services or grants; recording donations, fundraising proceeds, and grant receipts, and reconciling all bank accounts, petty cash, and credit card statements. The recording in QuickBooks involves fund accounting, as some income is restricted and some is unrestricted.
• Managing and recording the transactions from outsourced payroll and pension providers.
• Production of Quarterly management accounts using an Excel template.
• Production of cash flow forecasts.
• Attendance at Business Committee Meetings on Zoom 6 times a year.
• Preparing the required schedules and liaison with the external Independent Examiner, in order for them to sign-off the charity’s statutory accounts in line with the Charities SORP.
• Generating financial analyses required by grant-makers regarding the utilisation of money granted by them to the charity.
• Processing gift aid claims.
• Working with the Manager and Treasurer to prepare the charity’s annual budget.
• Supporting the Manager with the management of any capital projects. This may include production of budgets and forecasts and management of specific grants relating to those projects.

Group Consolidations Manager | £700 per day Umbrella Co. | Remote | 18-Months +

For a government organisation based in London, we are recruiting an interim Group Finance and Consolidations Manager to lead delivery of day-to-day group accounting and consolidations processes during an organisation-wide ERP implementation programme. The interim Group Finance and Consolidations Manager will focus on maintaining high-quality business-as-usual group consolidation and financial reporting delivery, while working closely with the ERP programme teams to share knowledge, provide input on system-wide consolidation processes, and support readiness.

Main Duties:

• Lead delivery of the day-to-day group consolidation and financial reporting
• Support the Compliance and Financial Accounting Team with BAU group accounting delivery
• Support the ERP implementation team activity across the group accounting and consolidation management life-cycle
• Ensure continuity and accuracy of all BAU group accounting activities
• Collaborate with the ERP programme teams to share expertise, input into design decisions, and suggest improvements to the consolidation tool management life-cycle
• Support the local design phase of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system for day-to-day group reporting and consolidation processes
• Support system integration testing for all group reporting and consolidation processes end-to-end and support real-life users of the system (UAT)
• Support the Oracle Fusion cutover phase, completing tax data migration, and the final transition.

Person Specification:

• CCAB qualified
• Strong technical accounting experience, particularly in group consolidation and financial reporting
• Experience with consolidation tools and processes within complex organisations
• Ability to contribute to ERP design and implementation, particularly in relation to group reporting requirements
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced programme environment
• Ideally experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud

• Support the local design phase of the Oracle Fusion Cloud system for day-to-day inventory accounting management processes

Person Specification:

• CCAB qualified with strong hands-on experience in inventory management systems
• Experience operating within complex or large organisations, managing inventory accounting at scale
• Good understanding of inventory accounting principles
• Experience contributing to ERP implementation or system change activity is desirable
• Ability to work independently and quickly establish credibility in role
• A working knowledge of Inventory / stock in a medium sized organisation is desirable
• Ideally experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud

We are seeking a Roaming International Finance Manager to provide short- to medium-term finance cover and additional capacity across a global programme portfolio. This is a hands-on international finance role, supporting Programme Managers and country teams to manage financial risk, strengthen financial controls, and ensure effective delivery of standard financial operating procedures.

The role may also include the induction, training and capacity-building of new International Finance Managers and local finance teams.

The successful candidate will work across a range of country programmes, often in challenging or developing-country contexts, providing support on budgeting, donor reporting, financial planning, monthly close processes, cash management, statutory compliance, audit preparation and partner contract oversight. They will play a key role in ensuring financial systems, reporting and controls are robust, compliant and aligned with operational needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting country financial planning, forecasting and grant/contract budgeting.
• Monitoring grant and contract spend, including cost-to-completion and spend-out plans.
• Identifying and managing programme financial risks.
• Ensuring financial policies and standard operating procedures are implemented across programme locations.
• Overseeing monthly financial close and ledger accuracy.
• Preparing donor, client and country financial statements.
• Managing cash flow, banking arrangements and exchange-rate exposure.
• Supporting statutory, donor and external audits.
• Building the capacity of national finance teams and supporting staff development.

About you

You will be a qualified accountant, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience, with at least five years’ financial management experience, including two years overseas. You will bring strong financial planning, reporting, donor compliance and risk-management skills, together with the flexibility and resilience required to work in varied international contexts. Experience managing and developing small teams is essential.

This role would suit a practical, adaptable and culturally sensitive finance professional who is comfortable working both strategically and operationally, including in environments where living and working conditions may be basic.
