What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

- Leading on the delivery of 2 x Individual Giving appeals per year (Big Give);
- Leading on our Gift Aid management for all donors;

About the role
As a Business Support Officer, you will support individual areas and provide positive and timely business support for the Care and Support function to meet their delivery of organisation business processes. The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners (known as In-Pensioners). It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation as well as residential and nursing care for approx. 300 retired soldiers. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Health & Wellbeing team in a new role as Tenancy & Contributions Officer.
The Tenancy & Contributions Officer will lead on the delivery and continuing evolution of the tenancy agreement (known as the In-Pensioner Agreement). Part of the delivery of the agreement will be coordinating the process of setting and reviewing In-Pensioner’s personal financial contribution to the Royal Hospital. The role also requires the individual to support with benefit applications as required, as well as undertake other housing management related tasks on behalf of the organisation.
In addition, the role is also a core component of the recruitment process for new In-Pensioners being the point of first appeal should a candidate be unsuccessful in their application to join. The role is complex, but we have a vibrant multidisciplinary team that is there to help. This role will add tremendous additional value to how we develop and deliver our services.

About the Role:
The role is office based across the Wakefield and Shipley sites. We are currently operating on a hybrid rota which includes some days working from home. There may be occasional travel required for training and development purposes.

- Dealing promptly with the issuing and payment of invoices.
- Liaising with all Head Office departments, particularly Finance, as required to ensure the payment of invoices.
- Obtaining quotations from suppliers and making purchases based on a value for money structure.
- Answering and responding to all initial enquiries from outside agencies or prospective service users.
- Providing telephone reception and maintaining and updating all service information resources.
- Co-ordinating the taking and passing on of internal and external messages and assisting in the preparation of written reports, having due regard for confidentiality.
- Providing typing and word processing support for the staff team as necessary and taking and distributing minutes of meetings as required.
- Attending staff meetings, staff support groups and service meetings.
