Qualifications

• CCAB part qualified accountant (desirable).

Experience

• 2 years relevant experience in financial accounting and financial reporting

• Experience of working in international development organisations, UK charities or donor agencies

Senior Finance Manager

The Senior Finance Manager will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Finance & Operations team play a critical role by running the day-to-day operations and providing the infrastructure that enables the continued delivery of the Trust’s mission and objectives.

Main duties

• Overseeing the Finance Officer’s work including sales ledger, purchase ledger and general processes and ensuring transactions are posted accurately and timely as well as supporting reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  Other duties as necessary from time to time 
• Overseeing month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and preparing trial balances and journal postings.
• Preparing year-end schedules and statutory accounts, working closely with the Director of Finance & Operations and external auditors. Liaising with external auditors and managing the audit process.
• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance (e.g. Companies House, Charity Commission)
• Managing the finance system, including data integrity, user access and system upgrades. Supporting finance-related integrations with other systems, and ongoing system improvements/ automation.

The Finance Coordinator will prepare financial reports for the board and ensure compliance with financial regulations. They will work with our bookkeeper to ensure excellent day-to-day financial management. They will also use produce cashflow forecasts and scenarios using the Xero integration with Syft that Selce has implemented. They will also play a role in HR processes reviewing timesheets monthly and ensuring contracts are amended as staff roles evolve. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health and sustainability of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

· Review financial data and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.

· Present financial reports with variance analysis and commentary for the board.

· Support with the preparation of annual accounts, working with Selce’s nominated accountants and the Board.

· Respond to any queries from Selce’s nominated accountants or from the Board.

This is a strategic and technical position, responsible for ensuring the integrity, performance, and continuous development of financial systems, while delivering operational support and enabling innovation across the University’s Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of Senior Financial Analysts.
• Oversee the daily operation and data integrity of the Unit4 finance system.
• Drive system upgrades, enhancements, and integration of financial data sources
• Act as the key liaison between Finance, IT, and third-party vendors
• Champion continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation within the finance function.
• Shape and execute the finance systems roadmap aligned with King’s strategic goals.
• Provide expert guidance on technical system architecture, controls, and reporting.

About You:

• We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional with:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance system administration within a complex organisation
• Strong skills in SQL and report writing
• A proven track record in team leadership, stakeholder management, and delivering finance system upgrades or process improvements
• Experience working with multi-currency General Ledgers and system integration
• Desirable: experience with Unit4 Business World (Agresso), higher education sector knowledge, and a background in business analysis or financial accounting

Head of Finance

Brain Research UK are seeking a Head of Finance to oversee the finance function and participate in the development of this evolving charity.

The role

Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Finance will lead on financial matters and be expected to provide critical financial information, insightful analysis and timely reporting to facilitate the growth of the Charity.

The role is standalone but working within a closeknit team. It with therefore have a degree of autonomy but will be expected to contribute to the wider development of the Charity. This is a pivotal appointment within the Charity and will provide some broad exposure to the Board and Investment Committee.

We are therefore seeking a dynamic qualified accountant who has had wide exposure to financial reporting and processes, preferably within a fundraising Charity. Being a financial ‘all rounder’, there is a real opportunity to contribute to the way the Charity operates by instilling sound financial operations and providing meaningful financial reporting. The role provides an opportunity to lead the finance function and will suit a progressive accountant looking for this kind of responsibility.

We would therefore be looking for an individual that has demonstrable experience in operating financial functions and has the personality to fit within a charity that works collaboratively. 

Ivy Rock are supporting King’s College London on the search for an experienced and proactive Senior Finance Systems Analyst to support and develop the enterprise finance system (Unit4 Business World), ensuring it underpins financial management across the institution.

Working within the Finance Systems Team, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining system integrity, resolving operational issues, driving process improvement, and enabling smarter use of data for financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure daily system integrity, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with IT and vendors (Unit4)
• Provide system support and training to Finance users and Business Partners
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and reporting within the finance systems landscape
• Lead and support on business analysis activities (e.g. process mapping, data analysis)
• Manage and develop a Finance Systems Analyst, supporting team capability and development
• Support transformation projects and contribute to enhancing financial data quality

About You:

• You will bring a mix of system expertise, analytical skill, and a passion for service excellence. The ideal candidate will have:
• Solid experience working at a Senior Analyst level in a finance systems environment
• Strong SQL and report writing skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Desirable: experience with Unit4 Business World, prior work in the university sector, and project/process management exposure

Job title: Project Accountant

Location: A short walk from Russell Square station

Pay: £50k - £55k

Duration: 6 months

The growing international membership organisation is looking for a Project Accountant to join its existing finance team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, you will ensure that the finance team delivers an effective and timely service.
The organisation is going through system migration and your working knowledge of Business Central will be essential.
Working as a Project Accountant your day-to-day duties will include;
-Fund accounting – Including restricted and designated funds accounting
- Statutory reporting and statutory accounting
- Donor reporting and reconciliation with finance system
- Experience in using Business Contral System (exposure to Project Accounting Module would be desirable)
- Business Partnering with budget holders on projects
