As a Procurement Assistant within our Finance & Assurance directorate, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's transforming how we deliver financial partnership across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their procurement career or looking to move into the field. You'll be the person who supports Procurement Officers and Business Partners to deliver their work across the Society. From major strategic projects to day-to-day operational needs. You'll handle a broad remit of work, from keeping records organised and gathering data that spots efficiency opportunities, to helping design how we communicate with colleagues across the organisation. It's a role that gives you genuine insight into procurement in action at a major charity, building knowledge and experience that will set you up for future success.

You'll also collaborate closely with other Assistants and Trainees across Finance & Assurance, bringing fresh thinking about how we can work together more seamlessly and support colleagues even better.

The Apprenticeship Opportunity

We're committed to developing our people, and we're open to supporting the successful candidate to pursue a Level 3 Procurement & Supply Assistant Apprenticeship - though this isn't essential, and we equally welcome applicants with prior experience who are looking for their next step.

This apprenticeship offers:

- Two qualifications in one – You'll gain both the apprenticeship standard qualification and Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) certification.
- Clear progression pathway – With the option to progress onto Level 4 if desired.

Apprenticeship Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the apprenticeship programme, you must:

- Have lived in England for the last 3 years.
- Be aged 16 or above (there is no upper age limit).
- Spend more than 50% of your time working in England.
- Not hold a higher qualification in the same subject area as the apprenticeship.

What you’ll focus on:

- Supporting Procurement Officers and Business Partners to deliver high-quality contract management and advice to colleagues across the Society, with a focus on driving efficiencies.
- Managing procurement records, files and documentation with accuracy and care, ensuring information is accessible and well-organised.
- Providing administrative support to the procurement team and wider directorate, including scheduling and minuting meetings.
- Gathering and analysing procurement data to help identify efficiency opportunities and support senior colleagues with recommendations.
- Helping colleagues across the Society navigate and understand our procurement processes through creative engagement approaches.
- Working collaboratively with other Assistants and Trainees across Finance & Assurance to address duplication, streamline administration, and improve how we support the Society.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role involves reporting and analysis by examining different business areas, producing reports for budget holders and the executive team, and presenting conclusions to support decision-making. Responsibilities include analyzing business performance on a monthly basis for specific areas, meeting regularly with strategic budget holders to review spending, highlighting underperforming areas, and supporting executive budget holders in implementing improvements. Reports will be prepared that link both financial and non-financial information.

In terms of budgeting, the role requires working with executive budget holders to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts, with a strong understanding of the key drivers behind budget bids and forecasts. It also involves analyzing budgets and forecasts by area, explaining variances between actual, budgeted, and forecasted results, and writing monthly management accounts commentary for allocated areas.

For wider finance tasks, the role includes working closely with the finance team to connect customers to finance processes, supporting the simplification and streamlining of finance procedures, and understanding the broader business impact of spend, income, assets, liabilities, and reserves. Taking ownership of problems and driving them through to resolution is also a key expectation.

Additionally, the role contributes to special projects such as new bids, systems implementation, and chart of accounts design.

What do I need to bring with me?

Here's what the team will be looking for

You will be ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified, or hold an equivalent qualification, with demonstrable post-qualification experience and continued professional development. You will be able to recognise the value in “data mined” information and inspire stakeholders to make effective use of it. You will also have strong knowledge of management information and integrated accounting systems, alongside expertise in budgeting and financial control techniques, with the ability to produce accurate monthly management accounts for defined business areas.

You will bring highly developed skills in financial system reporting, spreadsheet analysis, and database management, with the capability to link information from different sources to financial data. You will be committed to improving service delivery and able to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong interdepartmental relationships and earn trust through a balance of assertiveness and diplomacy.

You will be able to analyse large volumes of data and draw clear, concise conclusions. You will have significant experience providing management information to clients or customers within tight deadlines, producing ad hoc reports with insightful analysis to support decision-making, and working with senior-level budget holders. You will also have experience in delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Finally, you will demonstrate a strong set of soft skills including presentation, relationship building, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution.

The International Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing complex, high-risk financial operations related to our partner's international grantmaking and emergency relief support. This role combines financial leadership with flexibility and responsiveness to needs in volatile contexts, particularly for grassroots movements and activist groups globally.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Finance Oversight

- Lead all financial processes for international grants: budgeting, transfers, reconciliations, reporting.
- Manage multi-currency payments into high-risk regions; ensure compliance, mitigate fraud/diversion risk.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial systems for expanding global operations.
- Be agile to respond quickly to humanitarian needs.

Risk & Compliance

- Ensure due diligence (KYC, AML) and enhanced vetting particularly for overseas partners and informal/unincorporated networks.
- Comply with HMRC and UK banking rules, counter-terrorism finance regulations.  Work with the Compliance, Risk & Innovation team to improve policies/procedures.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as finance lead for philanthropic clients working in relief and grassroots activism.
- Provide advice on financial risk, best practices.
- Foster relationships with grassroots partners; ensure transparent, accessible reporting.
- Apply trauma-informed approaches in working with clients in conflict or activist settings.

Humanitarian & Global Finance Expertise

- Use knowledge of international finance especially in difficult contexts (e.g. unincorporated groups, sanctions, restricted jurisdictions) to design processes that satisfy both donors and grassroots partners.
- Monitor emerging risks globally and help shape responses.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

• Significant experience in finance, grantmaking or compliance in international/ humanitarian/ philanthropic settings.
• Experience in managing overseas financial transactions, handling multi-currency payments, managing exchange rate risks etc.
• Experience dealing with high-risk jurisdictions and partners, including unincorporated or grassroots networks.
• Familiarity with due diligence, risk frameworks, KYC/AML, UK charity and banking regulations.

Desirable

• Arabic (spoken/written) skills preferred
• Past work in NGOs, fiscal hosts, or international grant making.
• Experience with cryptocurrencies.

About the Role 

We are seeking a capable, motivated Operations Manager to lead on the effective running of our charity’s systems and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring our work remains efficient, financially sustainable, and aligned with our strategic goals. 

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Leadership Team, you will oversee the smooth functioning of our internal systems—including finance, CRM, IT, and communications—while supporting fundraising processes and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Leading Our Operations: Accountable for the smooth operational running of our Operational, HR and Financial Systems, including Salesforce, and identifying operational risks that could affect the charity’s mission. Your proactive approach will help us stay on track and keep making a difference.

2. Supporting Our Fundraising: Work closely with other members of the Leadership Team to identify fundraising opportunities, support with bid writing, and take responsibility for individual giving, managing our fundraising CRM, Donorfy. 

3. Supporting Change: Accountable for managing transitional change programmes across the organisation in respect to operational processes and procedures. Help our team adapt to new processes and procedures by providing guidance, training, and resources.

4. Financial Oversight: Understand the revenues and expenses of the charity in order to promote operational efficiency while managing cashflow risks. Whilst this role doesn’t require advanced experience in accounting or bookkeeping, the holder will take responsibility for day-to-day finance processes, including invoicing, account reconciliation on our account software Xero, and monthly financial reporting, as well as working alongside our external accountant.

JOB PURPOSE

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who wants to go beyond the numbers and help shape a more equitable humanitarian system.  The Finance Business Partner - Programmes will lead business partnering and financial planning for Start Network programmes teams taking responsibility for ensuring budgets and forecasts are robust, aligned with donor requirements and strategically positioned to achieve organisational objectives. Would you like to be part of a small, collaborative HR team that supports the people driving CSE’s mission to tackle the climate emergency and end fuel poverty? We are looking for a proactive, organised and values-driven HR Officer to join our busy HR team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operations, supporting around 150 staff and 60 line managers across the employee lifecycle.

As HR Officer, you will provide practical, people-focused support from recruitment and onboarding through to contract changes, benefits administration, and leaver processes. You will act as the first point of contact for HR queries, helping colleagues and managers to apply policies effectively, use systems confidently, and follow processes that are consistent and people-centred.You will also play a key role in maintaining accurate information across systems such as Employment Hero, SharePoint HR Intranet and Monday, ensuring data is compliant and well managed. Working closely with the Senior HR Manager and Senior HR Advisor, you will contribute to improving how HR supports staff, helping to strengthen processes, enhance systems and create a positive employee experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting the detail right, solving problems and improving the way things work. You will be part of a small, friendly team where HR systems and processes are evolving, so you will need to be comfortable balancing daily operational work with helping to shape clearer, more efficient ways of working.

The Role

As Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in driving financial performance, providing strategic insight, and helping senior stakeholders make well-informed decisions. You will have experience in supporting financial reporting for externally funded projects, preparing charity accounts. You will have an understanding of charity finance, including restricted/unrestricted funds, knowledge of SORP, and charity accounting standards. You will have a strong attention to detail, and confidence in analysing and presenting financial data.

As Clerk to the Board of Governors

Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to the Board of Governors. Responsibilities include:

You must have the right to work in the UK to work in paid employment with us. You’ll need to share documents showing you’re eligible to work in the UK if we offer you employment.

You can find the UK visas and permits granting you the right to work in the UK on the UK Government website. We currently don’t have a Sponsor Licence agreement with the Home Office and aren’t able to support you with your visa applications.
