Role Purpose

Hatch is on a mission to build a more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem, one where underrepresented founders have the resources, support, and funding to thrive. We are looking for a relationship-driven Fundraising Manager to secure, steward, and grow funding partnerships across trusts and foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI).

You will play a key role in unlocking income growth through strong relationship management, compelling bid and proposal writing, and strategic prospect research. While managing your own portfolio of funders, you will also support senior fundraisers to progress high-value partnerships, developing your skills and confidence as you grow your own partnerships.

At Hatch, we are not limited by opportunities but by capacity. Demand for our programmes is greater than ever, from beneficiaries as well as from funders.  Over the past four years, we have made significant strides in fundraising, growing our income from £500k per year in 2019 to over £2m in 2024. We have built a strong pipeline, developed innovative funding models, and positioned ourselves as leaders in enterprise support for underrepresented founders, earning recognition as  finalists for the Third Sector Fundraising Team of the Year in 2022.

Your role will focus on:

• Developing and managing partnerships across corporate, trust and foundation, and individual giving audiences.

• Securing new funding opportunities and supporting income growth, working closely with the fundraising and marcoms team.

• Leading engagement activities including funder and prospecting events and  funder experiences.

• Ensuring strong reporting and impact measurement for our funders.

• Drafting compelling applications that forge an emotional connection and securing financial support to transform the lives of our beneficiaries.

• Representing Hatch externally to deepen relationships with funding and strategic partners, securing long-term commitments and increasing brand awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage partnerships - Steward a portfolio of trusts, corporates, and individual donors, ensuring consistent communication, timely reporting,  and strong funder retention.

• Lead on bid and application writing - Write tailored and compelling funding applications, proposals, and case materials for grant-giving bodies, corporates, and HNWIs.

• Support senior fundraisers across the team - Assist colleagues working on major partnerships by providing background research, preparing proposals and meeting materials, and helping to coordinate follow-up actions.

• Provide regular updates and comms to funders - Ensure all funders receive timely, engaging updates on programme delivery, impact and outcomes, maintaining trust and strengthening long-term relationships.

• Identify and qualify new prospects - Proactively research and assess new funding opportunities. Bring warm leads into the pipeline and contribute insight to support strategic alignment.

• Respond to inbound funding enquiries - Manage and convert lower-level inbound opportunities, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses that align with Hatch’s offer and impact areas.

• Maintain accurate CRM records and support reporting - Keep the fundraising pipeline up to date in Salesforce and Monday. Track deadlines, ensure data accuracy, and support internal reporting and team coordination.

• Coordinate cross-team collaboration - Work with Programmes and Marcoms teams to gather inputs for applications and reports, prepare for funder meetings, and ensure aligned messaging.

• Use data and storytelling to showcase impact - Contribute to the development of reports, updates, and communications that clearly demonstrate Hatch’s value and the impact of our work with funders.

Person specification

We are looking for a relationship-driven fundraiser who can grow and manage a funder portfolio, write compelling funding bids, deliver employee engagement and volunteering opportunities, and support wider team success. You’ll need to be confident working across income streams and motivated by social impact.

Essential skills and experience:

• Excellent relationship management skills, with experience stewarding funders or clients

The Pembroke Academy of Music (PAM) is an open-access music education programme with a vision that all young people should have the opportunity to learn and grow through high-quality engagement with music. PAM works toward this vision by offering local children low-cost classical music instrumental instruction, providing opportunities for them to perform and enjoy music and supporting their personal development through music. About Us

The Greater Manchester Women’s Support Alliance (GMWSA) was established in 2016 by seven organisations who provide support services to women across all ten boroughs in Greater Manchester (GM) who may be vulnerable or have unmet support needs.

We came together as the GMWSA in order to ensure that our collective voice is heard by policy makers and commissioners of services. We represent the interests of our beneficiaries and service users, we share good practice and experience and ensure that no service operates in isolation. GMWSA is now formed of nine Member and Associate Member women’s centres having a presence in each of the 10 local authority areas across GM all of whom are collectively funded to deliver support services across GM to women either involved in the Criminal Justice System, or whose vulnerability and marginalisation leaves them at risk of offending, but all also have individual funding streams to ensure their provision reaches every woman in need of support.

Alliance members offer a full range of services to women who need support around issues such as domestic abuse, housing, mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, training, and confidence/self-esteem, all delivered with a trauma responsive approach.

Purpose of the Role 

We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to join GMWSA to transform the Alliance to meet future challenges around function and funding.

You will shape and implement the strategic direction of the Alliance, ensure the smooth running of the charity, provide leadership to staff, support the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance duties and ensure the delivery of grants and contracts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Direction

• Provide leadership and direction for the organisation and its staff in line with our vision.
• Clearly articulate and communicate GMWSAs vision, mission and values to staff, partners and others.
• Drive GMWSA’s strategy and business plan while establishing clear targets.

Supporting the Board

• Support the Board of Trustees to ensure that the organisation is in all aspects legally and financially compliant and operating to best practice.

External Affairs

• Promote and encourage multi-agency partnerships with third sector, statutory bodies and the funding and delivery of projects, following our code of ethics and strategy.
• Ensure effective participation in relevant local and regional networks and foster relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
• Oversee the development of systems to measure the organisation's impact, ensuring clear, evidence-based reporting of outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
• Lead on using evaluation findings to drive improvements in services, delivery models and organisational strategy.
• Represent the work of GMWSA in publicity and media opportunities, with quotes and interviews, ensuring a consistently good public image and reputation. 

Finances and Fundraising

• Accountable for fundraising from a range of sources to deliver GMWSA’s agreed strategic objectives in the medium term and working towards an increased sustainability in the long term.
• Responsibility for liaising with funders, writing applications and applying for grants from various government funds, trusts and foundations.
• Responsibility for securing corporate partnership.
• Ensure grants are spent appropriately within aims of the charity, the grants’ terms and in accordance with Charity Commissioner regulation.
• Ensure effective grant management processes are in place across member organisation in order to deliver grants and contracts.
• Report to funders in a timely and accurate way.
• Oversee budget management.
• Oversee all financial reporting ensuring it is accurate and done on a timely and regular basis, including the annual accounts/annual report.

People Management

• Provide leadership, direction and motivation for the team of staff, ensuring supervision and appraisals are carried out regularly.
• Lead on embedding EDI principles and ensuring the GMWSA’s policies and practices reflect its commitment to antidiscrimination and inclusivity.

Accountable to: The Board of Trustees

Quest for Learning is an education charity on a mission to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind - often due to complex and compounding disadvantage. Many of the children we support are growing up in poverty, with limited access to books, low parental literacy, and challenging home environments. Some face health inequalities, live in areas affected by crime, or have recently arrived in the UK as refugees or asylum seekers.

We work closely with schools to provide targeted, high-impact literacy and numeracy programmes that give these children the chance to catch up, thrive, and believe in their potential. On average, our small-group tutoring helps pupils make 13 months of progress in just 10 hours - building not only essential skills, but also confidence, motivation, and a renewed sense of possibility.

By supporting children early, we help prevent the need for more complex and costly interventions later in life, from mental health support to exclusion and social care. About the role

We're looking for a dynamic, relationship-focused, and highly organised individual to oversee our teaching programmes, school partnerships, and tutor network.

This role is crucial to ensuring our programmes are high-quality, well-managed, and meeting the needs of schools. You will be the first point of contact for schools, building strong relationships with headteachers and SENCOs, and ensuring that we offer the right support at the right time.

You will manage our team of tutors, ensuring they have the resources, training, and support needed to deliver our programmes to the highest standard. You will also oversee safeguarding and the measurement of programme impact, working closely with the fundraiser to ensure we have strong data for funding applications.

Key responsibilities

School relationships and programme development (account management) 

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders, ensuring our programmes align with their needs.
• Be proactive in identifying opportunities for growth, understanding school funding challenges, and positioning Quest for Learning as a key partner.
• Stay abreast of educational trends, school funding pressures, and local needs, using this market intelligence to shape programme delivery and ensure our offer remains relevant, impactful, and responsive to the challenges schools and pupils face.

Tutor management and quality assurance

Safeguarding (Designated Safeguarding Lead - DSL)

• Act as the DSL for Quest for Learning (once trained) with support from the Chief Executive as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring all safeguarding policies and processes are followed.
• Train tutors in best safeguarding practices and ensure incidents are properly reported and recorded.
• Liaise with schools and external agencies where necessary. 

Impact measurement & fundraising support

• Ensure a strong framework of assessment and impact measurement for pupils and our programmes.
• Analyse and collate data on programme effectiveness, reporting to the team.
• Work with the fundraiser to provide teaching-related content for funding bids and reports.

Essential:

• Strong experience in account management, partnerships, or relationship management (preferably in education or the charity sector).
• Experience working in education or service delivery (e.g. as a teacher, tutor, or programme manager).
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to support tutors with teaching-related queries.

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients

· Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.

● Developing our Partnership Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to help us grow the network and reach our ambition of 100% of the population living within a 30-minute walk of a registered Warm Welcome Space. This will involve identifying and engaging partners in geographical ‘cold spots’ for the network (utilising our mapping tool developed with UCL), as well as forming partnerships to unlock new or under-represented types of Warm Welcome Spaces (e.g. Housing Association Community Spaces, cinemas, community spaces created by new housing developments etc).

● Leading the development of our Local Co-ordinators Cluster which brings together Local Authorities and others who are leading place-based networks of community spaces.

● Overseeing and developing the Champions Programme, providing more intensive support and connections to a smaller cohort of Warm Welcome Spaces.

Engagement and Inclusion

● Developing our Inclusion Strategy to identify and engage the best potential partners to diversify our Coalition and support local Spaces to become more accessible and inclusive.

● Working with the team to develop regular engagement activities for Warm Welcome Partners.

● Producing compelling communications (written and verbal) to promote the work of the Warm Welcome Campaign and grow the depth and breadth of partnerships - to include but not limited to partnership proposals, pitches and reports.

Good Practices, Standards and Systems

● Supporting, maintaining and developing existing partnerships and manage the systems (including CRM use) needed for excellent partnerships delivery, stewardship and development.

● Leading Warm Welcome Space good practice and driving up quality standards across the network, including through developing a Warm Welcome Awards programme.

● Promoting good practice in volunteering and supporting Spaces to maximise and grow volunteering opportunities.

● Working with the team and, using our new CRM, track, measure and analyse our partnerships delivery.

● Supporting the delivery of other Warm Welcome efforts, as appropriate

Reporting to the Campaign Operations Director, you will work closely with them and other Senior Directors to grow the range and impact of Warm Welcome partnerships. The role will also work closely with the Communications team and with our two Warm Welcome Co-ordinators who deliver our Champions programme and provide a direct link between the campaign and Warm Welcome Spaces.

Working Arrangements

● Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester and Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to travel to Bristol once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting. Given the nature of this role we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both Warm Welcome Spaces and partners across the UK.

● This role is fully remote, with flexible working arrangements.
