The AI Opportunity Fund:
The AI Opportunity Fund, led by the Centre for Public Impact with support from Google . org, is currently a €16 million initiative aimed at empowering underserved workers across Europe with essential AI skills. The programme has selected 73 organisations from hundreds of applications to provide tailored AI training to at least 20,000 workers across 24 European countries. These organisations focus on diverse communities, including rural job seekers, underemployed women, and public sector workers, aiming to bridge the digital divide and promote economic resilience. The initiative underscores AI's potential to drive social mobility and equitable growth across the continent. We are also hoping to scale our work in this area in the future.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Grants Programme Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. This role is responsible for the operational leadership of the programme, ensuring that it is planned and executed effectively on time, on budget and within scope. A key focus of the role is ensuring that the grant-giving component of the programme is designed and stewarded diligently.
This is a middle management role that is primarily operational with some elements of strategic leadership. It requires strong project management skills, good grant-making practice and the ability to manage relationships with diverse partners. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with considerable scope and complexity; and who embraces the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment where learning, adaptability, and building the plane as we fly it are central!
Responsibilities and Competencies:
Programme Development and Delivery

Lead on shaping the design and execution of the AI Opportunity Fund utilising appropriate project management frameworks.

Coordinate high quality project deliverables including implementing an AI training programme at scale and convening peer learning and knowledge sharing workshops.

Collaborate closely with Finance and Senior Leadership to manage and monitor the programme budget and expenditure.

Identify, escalate and contribute to addressing programmatic risks to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and donor requirements.
Grant Making and Management

Lead the design and implementation of the AI Opportunity Fund grant making function, embedding good grant making practice whilst adhering to donor expectations.

Develop and implement robust grant-making systems, processes and structures to successfully execute each stage of the grant lifecycle.

Provide excellent stewardship of a large portfolio of grants, providing technical support and effectively managing escalated issues to ensure the programme achieves its strategic objectives.

Build the capacity of the wider AI Opportunity Fund team in grant making skills and capabilities.

Manage and coach the Grants Officer, ensuring they deliver their grants administration responsibilities effectively.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Management

Provide excellent donor stewardship of Google . org, securing their confidence in CPIE as a thought and delivery partner.

Cultivate, maintain and oversee strong relationships with wider stakeholders on the programme including service providers and evaluation partners.

Support senior leadership to position the programme strategically internally and externally in order to advance CPIE’s reputation and offer.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning

Ensure that CPIE prepares and submits accurate, timely and high quality programme and grant reports to Google, CPI’s Board and other key audiences.

Collaborate closely with the Communications Team, Senior Leadership and external providers to ensure robust impact measurement of the AI Opportunity Fund.

Identify and leverage opportunities to share insights from the AI Opportunity Fund to a range of stakeholders including broader CPI teams, wider civil society and current and potential clients.

Embed a culture of learning and reflexivity in the team, utilising insights from the Programme to shape project management in an iterative way.

The Role

Clinical research is an essential element in ensuring new treatments are rapidly and safely translated to clinical use to transform the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Nine years ago, the Trust set up an ambitious programme of work to broaden the reach of trials to all people with cystic fibrosis in the UK, the Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP). CTAP is a national cystic fibrosis clinical trials network which has created the infrastructure (network of CTAP centres) and funded additional research capacity (trial coordinators) to support NHS Cystic Fibrosis centres to grow their clinical trial portfolio. This in turn has increased the number of clinical trial opportunities for the UK CF community, and improved access to the newest therapies for people living with cystic fibrosis.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Network Coordinator to join the CTAP coordinating team as maternity cover. The postholder will oversee the coordination of the four CTAP regional clinical trial networks which sit within the main CTAP programme. This role will play an important role in overseeing the smooth running of the CTAP regional networks in addition to providing support and guidance relating to the referral of patients for clinical trial participation.
To be the right candidate, you will:
- Have experience of working within the area of clinical trials in some capacity for the NHS, a university, research funder or a commercial sponsor
- Have an in-depth understanding of the clinical research landscape, particularly in the context of a national/disease-specific clinical trials network

Programme Officer for Europe & Eurasia
About the role:
The Programme Officer will provide programmatic support to a portfolio of Internews Europe’s projects in the Europe & Eurasia (E&E) Region. The role will be part of Internews’ Regional E&E Team and report to the UK-based Regional Programme Manager. The role will support the project teams in the E&E region as they conduct their project activities and ensure effective programme implementation, particularly related to project reporting, work planning, and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL).
The role will coordinate with diverse international donors to contribute to development opportunities that support E&E media and journalists to safely provide good-quality information. The role supports the design and development of innovative programmes and serves as the point of contact for E&E projects within Internews Europe and for some project donors. The role may also be asked to represent Internews at partner and donor meetings. The role will also contribute to Internews’ knowledge management and improvement of Internews systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the project teams across all programmatic and operational aspects of European-funded grant programmes to implement high-quality projects on time, according to the budget, and to the highest technical standards, and in a way that positions projects within a broader regional or thematic portfolio and contributes to organisational impact
- Monitor progress towards project deliverables and provide guidance to project teams
- Support project openings/start-ups and closeouts
- Advise on project team composition and support with hiring key project personnel
- Guide the project teams on rules and requirements of European donors and Internews’ internal policies and procedures
- Work closely with the E&E Business team on business aspects of project delivery, including budget management and financial tracking
- Review and revise donor narrative reports, workplans, and MERL plans to ensure their high quality
- Review and provide feedback on relevant programmatic and monitoring aspects, including MERL reporting, external project evaluation, and other research and studies
- Solicit, draft, and edit success stories, briefers, and other communications materials for E&E projects in coordination with project teams
- Contribute to or draft scopes of work, programme descriptions, etc. for subgrants or contracts as needed
- Coordinate and contribute to various aspects of proposal development, including research, writing, and editing
- Provide input and support for organisation-wide initiatives as needed
- Travel within the E&E region as necessary
- Represent Internews in official meetings as necessary

About Activate
Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith. Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms. A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project.
In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities. The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes.
About your team
With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch
The RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
The main activity of our branch is specialised in the rehoming of small animals including cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs and hamsters. The animals come into our care from various sources such as those which are rescued, abandoned, neglected or given up by their owners. Each animal is medically and characteristically assessed to ensure it is fit and well before being available for rehoming. This all costs money, and could not be achieved without your support.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for the development, implementation and operation of appropriate financial and business management tools to support the day-to-day business and financial administration of the Branch.
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Executive Office (CEO), you will be expected to make use of the full capability of the Branch’s existing software systems (Google Workspace, and Quick Books) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and develop management information to aid the Trustees & CEO in decision making.
You will be responsible for all financial management across the charity. This includes bookkeeping; financial statements; financial planning; financial policies, processes and controls and budgeting.
You must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with current legislation, Branch and Society policy, relevant Health & Safety regulations and any associated statutory or legislative requirements.
Note: Branch targets and budgets are agreed on an annual basis and these will inform the personal targets agreed at the annual performance review. Progress towards personal targets will be reviewed at regular one-to-one meetings with your line manager.
This role is home based, with occasional travel across South Bucks.
Principal Accountabilities
Financial Management & Operations

Support the CEO as a key strategic and operational partner, acting as second-in-command and deputising in their absence where appropriate.

Maintain all financial records and accounting systems (the Branch currently uses Quick Books accounting software), registers and statistics as required by the CEO & Branch Trustees.

Work with the CEO and Branch Trustees to develop financial plans and an annual financial budget.
-
Maintain close oversight of the branch’s budget in collaboration with the CEO, proactively identifying and addressing any discrepancies, overspend, or unplanned financial activity to ensure effective financial control and informed decision-making.

Process, monitor, record and manage all receipts & payments to/from the Branch in accordance with the agreed procedures and in liaison with the appropriate staff and volunteers including weekly banking, cash handling, invoice creation and processing, Branch payments (including those made via credit cards and petty cash) and account reconciliation.

Monitor, review and reconcile monthly receipts & payments on the Quick Books accounting system.

Produce monthly management accounts which include bank reconciliations, balance sheets, Branch/departmental profit & loss statements, departmental comparisons and performance against budget and such other financial reports/management information as may be required including monthly reporting to the board of trustees.

Coordinate bank accounts across the charity, including set-up and balance management.

Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.

Prepare annual financial statements and coordination of annual audit review.

Support the staff and volunteers with day-to-day financial operations and ensuring departmental financial records are maintained and that monies received or expended are accounted for correctly.

Work with the RSPCA Society National team regarding legacies, submission of care contribution funds, renewals of insurances etc.

Ensure that strict protocols are followed for cash handling and that unbanked cash remains within the insured limit for cash held at each premises.

Liaise with the Branch’s payroll provider to ensure staff hours are submitted and salary payments processed on a monthly basis and within the appropriate timescale.

Process all staff and volunteer expenses in a timely manner.

Manage all bookkeeping processes and functions, including the asset register, ensuring annual accounts are produced no later than the end of March each year.

Develop, implement and maintain appropriate financial administrative procedures and processes.
Business Administration

Responsible for day-to-day financial administrative support for the CEO and Trustees.

Ensure that all administrative paperwork, including external correspondence is processed in accordance with Branch and Society procedures, including completion of all appropriate records for insurance and risk management purposes.

Ensure financial data processing, retention and destruction conforms to the relevant policies such as GDPR.

Ensure regulatory and legislative compliance of financial charity policies.

Work closely with relevant operational staff to ensure appropriate responses are issued to all enquiries whether from members, supporters & volunteers, RSPCA colleagues or the general public.

Liaise with staff and volunteers to facilitate the ordering of materials, supplies and equipment for the effective operation of the Branch, ensuring budgetary controls are maintained at all times.

Work with the CEO and other staff to manage relevant licences, vendor relationships, service agreements and invoicing.

Work with staff and volunteers across the whole charity on financial processes and controls.
Fundraising & Donations

Identify, assess, and apply for appropriate grants and funding streams to maximise income for the branch, ensuring applications are timely, well-prepared, and aligned with funder criteria to support the branch’s strategic and operational objectives.

Ensure that all donations (financial or otherwise) are acknowledged in a timely manner, receipts are issued for financial donations and the banking of all funds raised.

Responsible for the accurate recording and banking of the funds raised.

Canine Partners' mission is to change the lives of disabled people using expertly trained dogs to improve physical, emotional and social wellbeing. Our amazing dogs bring greater independence and an improved quality of life to their partners, offering security, companionship, and practical help with everyday household tasks.
We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual to join our dedicated Marketing and Income Generation Team as a Database Manager. This is an exciting opportunity at a prominent assistance dog charity for someone who has worked in a senior database administrator role and is ready to take on more responsibility or an experienced database manager interested in working in the charity sector.
Position: Database Manager
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part-time hours considered)
Location: Homebased
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract

You will be responsible for managing the data infrastructure and insights that support all charity operations, from matching assistance dogs with our partners, to securing vital funding, to measuring impact and outcomes. A proactive approach is key to ensure that you provide comprehensive management, maintenance, and development of Canine Partners' database systems and data recording strategies. You will manage the provision of accurate, timely, and compliant data selections, reports, and analytical insights to support all charity operations. You will have the opportunity to lead major database development projects and shape data strategy across the entire charity.
About you:
• Demonstrable experience in database administration and development.
• Strong understanding of GDPR compliance and data protection in database management.
• Experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and training skills with ability to work across all organisational levels.
• Experience with database integrations, particularly with websites, email platforms, and third-party systems.
• Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrable commitment to data validation and checking.
Salesforce administration and development experience is desirable, but not essential. Most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative impact that our assistance dogs provide to our beneficiaries.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.
Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South–South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.
The Policy Engagement Assistant role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make up their own minds about SRM.
Joining a growing team, the Policy Engagement Assistant will support the Policy Engagement and Programmes teams through the provision of administrative services to ensure the efficient organisation of, execution of, and participation in events. Secondarily, the Assistant will provide general administrative support to the Policy Engagement team.
The Policy Engagement Assistant will work under the supervision of the Policy Engagement Director, while supporting the Policy Engagement Managers and the Programmes team. Responsibilities will include:
- Arranging travel, lodging and other travel logistics for Degrees staff, funded scientists, policymakers, and other external participants;
- Arranging meeting facilities;
- Facilitating requests for visas and other travel authorisations;
- Serving as a point of contact for external event participants’ queries about travel and events;
- Ensuring proper distribution of information documents and meeting minutes in a timely manner;
- Drafting general and formal correspondence; reviewing and formatting documents and slides according to style;
- Organising and maintaining the policy engagement team’s shared mailbox and filing system;
- Scheduling staff and other meetings;
- Supporting processes for this new team, including aspects of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL);
- Maintaining the list of external policy engagement contacts;
