The Trusts and Foundations Officer will support the Trusts and Foundations team to meet income targets and develop and maintain relationships with donors and prospects. The role combines supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager, Senior Trusts Officer, and Head of Fundraising with the maintenance of existing relationships as well as generating their own income from both smaller and larger trusts. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in securing grants from charitable trusts, foundations, and institutional donors. Proven experience in trust and foundation fundraising, preferably within the nonprofit sector or a similar environment is essential.

About the role

Partnerships
- Support with creating proposals and pitches to secure Brand, Corporate and Commercial Partnerships, with a strong focus on shared purpose and mutual benefit, to create successful long term strategic partnerships.
- Support with relationship management of current partners of Rays of Sunshine, ensuring they have materials to aid their fundraising.
- To manage the input of corporate partnership data on the CRM system (currently Donorfy).
- Manage the updates to the corporate pipeline master document, ensuring appropriate actions are met within deadline.
- Supporting the Corporate Volunteer Researcher to undertake the necessary research to support our pipeline of approaches.
Philanthropy
- Creating supporter updates and reports to demonstrate the impact of funding received from our Patrons and Major Donors, providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.
- Provide support with the event planning of major donor events, and attend in person to provide support of events on the day.
Trusts and Foundations
- Support with research and the successful completion applications to secure donations from a pipeline of identified Trusts and Foundations
Stewardship
- Identifying new opportunities to create wow moments for donors and provide excellent stewardship of all major donors and partnerships.
General
- General administrative duties, including record meeting notes and actions, following up with partners, sending out of promotional materials, monitoring and responding to email enquiries, and taking telephones calls.
- Any other duties to support the success of the fundraising team.

Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and creative appeals as well as supporting the fundraisers responsible for in-memory and donor acquisition to achieve their targets and objectives.
Individual Giving is a growing income stream for Birmingham Hospice, and this have been recognised by the Executive Team who are investing in this area, in particular regular giving and legacies.
If you are a focused and driven individual who enjoys creating new and exciting fundraising appeals and campaigns, then we want to hear from you, but more importantly you must have a passion for fundraising and hospice care and the ambition to grow income and increase donor recruitment and retention.

The vital work of the charity is partially enabled by income generated through fundraising; from supporter engagement and community events and activities, as well as philanthropic sources, such as trusts and foundations, and major donors.
As Supporter Engagement Officer you’ll play a key role in helping us to engage new and existing supporters as well as helping to deliver first-class stewardship to retain support and build trust. In addition you will develop appeals and communications that engage and inform supporters which help to raise more voluntary income.
Directly supporting the Direct Marketing and Legacy Manager and working closely with all of the Supporter Engagement team it would be beneficial if you have previous experience or an interest in Fundraising. Being a confident communicator with a “can-do” approach is essential as well as being able to demonstrate proven administrative skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and be highly organised.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. Please note that all employees are contractually required to work from the office a minimum of 4 days a month.
Some roles may be required to be in the office more often than others and this will be agreed with the hiring manager upon starting at Turn2us.
