We attract learners from every corner of the country, every type of charity and social purpose organisation. Through our open and bespoke training we are able to make training more affordable and allow a range of charities to access quality training either online or face to face.
We are looking for someone to come in and provide temporary administrative support to help us manage our event journeys within our CRM system. You must be able to work quickly and accurately and be able to prioritise and manage a busy workload. Some experience in Finance would be preferable, as the role includes financial administration.

The role

Our location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be occasions when you will need to attend face-to-face meetings with, donors, your team, our partner agencies, or several team away-days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times a year at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for our mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days.

The key duties of the Finance Manager are as follows:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for DF&R to review
- On completion of the monthly management accounts; to distribute to Heads of Department and Managers the relevant reports, e.g. Housing, Domestic Abuse, Maintenance, Retail, Staff Training Marketing & Fundraising etc
- To meet with the relevant Heads of Department and Managers on a periodic basis to discuss the financial performance and outlook for the remaining periods
- Budget – to take responsibility for providing instructions/templates to Heads of Department and Managers for the submission of data to complete the draft budget. To arrange meetings as appropriate with the budget holders to discuss and agree the draft budget. Work with the DF&R to present the Draft Budget to Executive Team and then uploading to Xledger
- Cash – managing the cash resources of IMPAKT to ensure that any returns are achieved whilst ensuring there are adequate funds to meet liabilities as they fall due
- Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Providing staff with relevant guidance and training in the use of Xledger to meet their responsibilities
- Liaise with auditors and preparation of pre-audit information requests and dealing with any subsequent queries and requests in consultation with the DF&R
- Manage the finance team and oversee/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash posting and all general ledger entries and that all reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis
- Overseeing the completion of the monthly payroll and submission of year end payroll returns and ensuring good collaboration with the People & Culture team on matters that affect staff salary payments
- Liaising with IMPAKT’s banks as and when required
- Provide regular 1:1’s and Annual Appraisals for the Finance team members
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as Finance Manager
- Non-profit experience highly preferred
- Ideally fully qualified accountant but this is a desirable. Part qualified and qualified by experience are also acceptable
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in accounting and finance
- A good knowledge of the issues facing homeless people, and homelessness issues in general across all ages
- Possess a professional personal image and the ability to work harmoniously and establish positive relationships with staff at all levels and with third-party suppliers
- Ability to explain financial terms in simple language
- Demonstrate and convey a passion for the work of IMPAKT housing & support, including an understanding of the work we do and the challenges faced

The Role
This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across regions, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.
Mentoring programme
- Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
- Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
- Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees.
- Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
- Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
- Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
- Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
- Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy.

We are looking for a freelance Director of Operations and Finance to work for an average of 4 days a week for a total of 180 days a year. They will be part of the senior leadership team alongside the Chief Strategy and Advocacy Officer and the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
● Deliver our Operations and Finance KPIs as outlined in the Charity’s strategy; as well as being jointly responsible for the successful implementation of the full strategy.

Job Description
The Healthcare Partnerships Lead will be responsible for the delivery of our Healthcare Engagement Strategy, through the development and delivery of projects and activities which embrace collaboration, raise the profile and credibility of both the Overcoming MS charity and Program, and extend supported self- management of MS within the health and social sector. We want to be the go-to charity for lifestyle and living well with MS and to demonstrate the added value we bring through education, resources, community and partnership working.
The past 12 months have seen the laying of a strong foundation for both increasing credibility and collaboration. This has included identifying barriers to supporting self-management in MS, developing education, piloting projects and resources to overcome some of those barriers in partnership with healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
· The successful delivery of the Healthcare Engagement Strategy, identifying and prioritising engagement with our key audiences and stakeholders.
· Working closely with both our Medical Advisor, Information and Research Manager (new role) and with the existing HCP Advisory Group and wider engaged healthcare partners, to facilitate the development of the relationship, profile and reach between the charity and the health and social care sectors. Around information sharing, service design, and understanding of the role of lifestyle in holistic management of MS.
· Identifying and attending key healthcare events and conferences, building networks, partnerships and other resources to increase knowledge and awareness of how the charity and Overcoming MS Program, benefits people with MS and maximise opportunities for signposting.
· Building frameworks for data gathering and evaluation to effectively review benefit of collaborative interventions and report outcomes widely and meaningfully, in partnership with the Information and Research Manager.

Safer Waves was set up in 2019 to provide support to merchant seafarers who have experienced sexual assault, sexual harassment or gender discrimination on board.
Safer Waves provides an anonymous email support service, run by volunteers who are trained in responding to disclosures of sexual violence, and who understand the specific challenges experienced when these events happen onboard a vessel.
We work with shipping companies, industry leaders, law enforcement and maritime training providers to raise awareness of sexual violence within the maritime industry, and to improve the support that is available to seafarers who experience it.
