ABOUT THE ROLE
RISE is now seeking a full-time Fundraising Manager to help deliver its fundraising strategy. RISE has a mixed funding model and receives funding from the private sector, philanthropic and corporate foundations, bilateral agencies, and potentially, multilateral institutions. This role will play a pivotal role in executing the fundraising strategy, focusing on proposal development, donor engagement, and day-to-day delivery of fundraising activities.
We are looking for a hands-on, results-driven team member who can turn ideas into actionable proposals, manage multiple workstreams, and follow through to completion. The successful candidate will share RISE’s commitment to advancing equality for women workers in global supply chains and will help scale our impact through sustained, year-on-year income growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of a highly matrixed team, effective collaboration across other team functions and particularly with in-country teams and program managers will be critical to success. The Fundraising Manager will report to the Associate Director, Partnerships.
The role includes the following specific responsibilities. These may evolve as priorities are established:
Proposal and Concept Development
- Translate RISE’s strategy into compelling and fundable project proposals and concept notes.
- Lead the day-to-day coordination of proposal development, including drafting project narratives, developing logical frameworks or theories of change, and ensuring alignment with donor requirements.
- Lead or coordinate the preparation of proposal budgets in collaboration with finance colleagues.
- Develop and maintain high-quality fundraising and communication materials.
- Work with the wider RISE team to maintain an active and healthy grant pipeline.
Donor Engagement
- Support the expansion of RISE’s donor base by identifying and pursuing new prospects, particularly among philanthropic foundations, corporate foundations, and bilateral donors.
- Maintain regular communication with current and potential donors, ensuring they are informed and engaged in RISE’s work.
- Support donor outreach and pitch preparation, working closely with RISE leadership and subject matter experts.
- Keep the team informed with up-to-date donor intelligence and funding opportunities.
Fundraising Planning and Coordination
- Implement and operationalize the fundraising and partnership strategy, ensuring effective follow-through on agreed priorities and activities through clear annual workplans developed in collaboration with the Associate Director, Partnerships.
- Contribute insights and lessons learned from day-to-day implementation to inform periodic strategy reviews and planning discussions.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring systems, tools, and processes for fundraising are efficient and up to date.
EXPERIENCE
- 8–10 years of relevant professional experience, including successful track record in developing and winning grants.
- Proven ability to translate strategic direction into actionable plans and high-quality deliverables.
- Strong writing skills, with experience developing concepts, proposals, and budgets for complex, multi-year projects.
- Good understanding of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and the private sector’s role in achieving the SDGs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of international donor trends and existing networks across foundations, corporate donors, and governments.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The Role
This role will play a crucial part in supporting a wide range of fundraising, marketing, and communications activities for Cosmic. As a key member of the Income Generation team, the individual will help raise vital funds and awareness that enable and enhance the charity’s work, whilst also contributing to the delivery of effective marketing and communications that promote our impact and engage our audiences.
This role requires someone with a genuine interest in working across multiple fundraising areas — from corporate partnerships and community fundraising to individual giving, events and challenges, trusts and foundations, event support for Cosmic led events, and in-memory and legacy giving. You will bring strong organisational, communication, and creative skills to support activity across these streams. In addition, you will collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop engaging social media content, enhance brand visibility, and contribute to impactful digital and supporter communications across all of Cosmic’s channels.
This varied and dynamic role will include research, administration, planning, content creation, and creative thinking. You will support the delivery of fundraising activities, events, initiatives, and campaigns, as well as contribute to marketing efforts such as social media, email newsletters, website updates, and storytelling. A key part of the role will be ensuring our supporters, donors, and online audiences receive high-quality, consistent, and engaging communications. With the wider team’s support, the role will also aid the growth of new corporate partnerships.
The role requires someone who is confident, organised, and articulate, with ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to promote the work, need, relevance, and impact of the charity. The individual will have skills in marketing and/or fundraising, which will be transferable. Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Executive and working closely with the wider Income Generation team and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the role has scope for development and growth in this small, but impactful charity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising and income generation support
- Working alongside and supporting members of the Income Generation team, gaining a better understanding of the various fundraising and income generation activities.
- Be a key contact for fundraising enquiries.
- Collation and sending of information, including fundraising materials, to potential and current supporters and advising on queries relating to fundraising.
- Support the organisation, planning, promotion, and delivery of fundraising, stewardship and other events.
- Ensure that all fundraising activity operates with the Fundraising Regulator’s guidelines, code of practice and GDPR practices.
- Identify and support opportunities to raise awareness of the charity including giving presentations, attending meetings and local events.
- Aid the growth of individual giving programmes, including regular giving, one-off donations, and donor stewardship journeys.
- Assist in researching, writing, and submitting grant applications to trusts, foundations, and statutory funders.
- Maintain accurate donor records using the charity’s CRM system, Donorfy, and ensure data is up to date, accurate, compliant, relevant and reportable.
- Support the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns, appeals, and community events.
- Assist with event set-up and pack-down, ensuring all materials and equipment are in place.
- Provide excellent donor care and stewardship, including timely thank-you communications and proactive engagement with supporters.
- Help identify new fundraising opportunities and potential partners through research and networking.
- Meet with supporters in person and provide a first-class experience for them by providing tours of the units and any tailored information they require.
- Support the administration and logistics for fundraising events, including volunteer coordination and post-event evaluation.
2. Marketing and communications responsibilities
- Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, the website, and campaign materials to raise awareness of the charity’s work.
- Social media content capture and uploading of activities at all Cosmic led events onto all relevant channels.
- Coordinate social media channels, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Support marketing campaigns for fundraising events, appeals, and awareness initiatives.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure brand consistency across all supporter-facing materials.
- Gather stories, quotes and visuals from beneficiaries, supporters, and partner organisations (with appropriate permissions) to promote activities and support to Cosmic.
- Update and maintain website content, ensuring information is accurate, compelling, and user-friendly.
- Assist in producing digital assets, such as graphics, short videos, and email campaigns.
- Conduct basic analytics reporting for digital platforms, tracking engagement, reach, and campaign impact.
- Help coordinate Public Relations activities, including drafting press releases and maintaining media contact lists, in liaison with the Marketing and Communications Manager.
3. Cross-team and administrative responsibilities
- Work closely with the Senior Fundraising Executive, and wider Income Generation team to ensure smooth coordination between fundraising and marketing activities.
- Liaise with clinical partners, hospital staff, and external stakeholders to gather information that supports fundraising and communications content.
- Support the implementation of internal processes for campaign planning, supporter stewardship, and content production.
- Attend events, meetings, and training sessions as needed to represent the charity.
- Provide general administrative support to the fundraising and marketing functions including processing donations, handling enquiries, and maintaining shared resources.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to help refine and develop the charity’s fundraising and marketing approach.
- Audit the inventory of all materials necessary for both events and volunteering.
- Sending thank you letters to supporters in a timely manner.
- Spending time meeting with families and staff on the units, using this time as an opportunity to build positive relationships. Supporting the Service Delivery team with massage days for the clinical staff and other key events such as World Prematurity Day and other ad hoc and seasonal activities.
- The role is incredibly varied, and no two days are the same.

About this key role
You will take the lead on applications and relationship management of Trusts and Foundations, working with the Trusts and Foundations Officer and Head of Voluntary Fundraising to raise £2m from Trusts and Foundations each year, plus manage campaigns and events to raise £200,000 across Appeals, Individual Giving, and Legacy per year. The Charity
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.
James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.
In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.
The Opportunity
James’ Place has huge ambitions to grow to reach more men in suicidal crisis. We are seeking an experienced fundraising manager to join us on a Fixed Term Contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Trusts and Statutory is a crucial, high-performing and mature income stream for James’ Place. In this Fixed Term Contract, the postholder will be care-taking as well as continuing to grow income and help the team to finalise our current fundraising appeal. The organisation has recently invested in a new Executive Leadership Team to drive forward the development of our new strategy, so there is a real opportunity for this postholder to contribute to this process.

80% Direct fundraising work:
- Responsible for a portfolio of donors, volunteers and prospects and an annual fundraising target of c. £750,000 - £1,000,000 from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources.
- Build a network of donors and volunteer supporters and influencers across a range of audiences, maintaining and developing relationships, who can support your fundraising.
- Work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications on the national appeal and other central fundraising work. This will include attending events and writing major grant applications and other proposals.
- Support the Head of Fundraising and Communications to maximise opportunities through the Appeal Board.

About the role
This new Lead role sits within the Design Council Programmes Team led by the Chief Design Officer and has responsibility for leading the development and embedding of our funding strategy. Position
As part of the Fundraising Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving ShareAction’s fundraising strategy and enabling the organisation to deliver its mission. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead your own portfolio of high-value trusts and foundations, securing major multi-year partnerships that underpin the organisation’s work. Income generation and fundraising at Solace is ambitious, dynamic and rewarding. This role is situated within the Business Development team driving forward our trusts and foundations grant applications and our unrestricted funding portfolio. We work alongside our award-winning Communications, Partnerships & Public Affairs team.
About the Role
We are seeking a forward thinking, creative and motivated individual who can envision and manage commissioned tenders, grant funding, individual giving, corporate partnerships and our training and consultancy functions.
You will be a highly skilled and successful fundraiser and business development professional.
The role will manage the statutory and non-statutory income generation team including tenders, grants and fundraising staff to achieve a net target of approximately £2m per annum. This team plays a pivotal role in the financial wellbeing of the charity enabling us to support the thousands of women and children who come to us each year as a result of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

About the role
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead the development and delivery of a systematic, data-driven, and project-managed approach to fundraising and communications — driving sustainable income growth and raising the charity’s profile and influence.
As the charity’s strategic lead for fundraising, they will shape and expand our income streams, strengthen systems and processes, and build a high-performing team to help us reach more young people with our vital work. They will also lead on external communications and storytelling, ensuring our narrative is compelling, consistent, and rooted in the powerful impact of our programmes.
While this role will oversee a team of three, the postholder will be hands-on and deeply involved in the systems and practices they implement, ensuring excellence in both strategy and delivery.
This newly created role is a key position on the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO, and Head of Programmes to deliver The Ben Kinsella Trust’s vision and strategy.
As part of a small charity making a big impact, you will play a central role in ensuring Ben’s legacy continues to educate, empower, and inspire thousands more young people across London and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all fundraising activity, ensuring a systematic and dependable approach to income generation.
- Develop and deliver a long-term fundraising strategy that supports sustainable growth and diversification across grants & trusts, corporate donors, major donors, individual giving and community fundraising.
- Build and manage relationships with key funders and donors, working with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to cultivate and steward major partnerships.
- Maintain oversight and final sign-off of major and high-value funding applications to grants & trusts, corporate donors and major donors, ensuring they are well-structured, hold a compelling narrative, and are of the highest quality.
- Implement systems, processes, and KPIs to monitor performance, track pipelines, and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic fundraising insight and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
Senior Leadership Team
- Play a full and active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy, decision-making, and culture.
- Introduce and refine systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and collaboration across departments.
- Support strategic planning and financial forecasting, particularly in relation to income generation and communications activity.
Communications and Marketing

Experience
- Experience in a senior fundraising role, with a track record of developing and delivering successful income generation strategies.
- Demonstrable experience in managing and overseeing complex fundraising applications across a variety of funders or for a broad and diverse funder base
- Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Experience managing budgets and working closely with finance colleagues on planning and forecasting.
- Experience in leading or collaborating on communications and PR activity within a charity or campaigning organisation.
