The impact you will have
As the Events and Community Fundraising Manager you will lead the delivery of events and community activity that engages people to raise vital funds for Missing People. Missing People relies on support from individual members of the public who take on an event or activity to raise awareness and vital funds for missing people and the charity. This role will lead the development, delivery and growth of this income area through engagement and stewardship of these valued supporters. This includes developing a balanced portfolio of events and community activity and working directly with the community of people with experience of the issue of missing.
 
You will use your experience and enthusiasm to inspire individuals and groups to support the charity. You will drive our events portfolio forwards, using your rapport skills to quickly establish relationships with providers, internal teams and supporters, and your agile, ambitious approach will allow us to grab hold of the best possible opportunities.

The Senior Major Gifts Manager will play a crucial role in the theatre’s new Stories Start Here campaign, building on the successful major donor fundraising programme, acting as the key relationship manager for a portfolio of some of the closest and most passionate supporters. The postholder will identify, cultivate, solicit and secure major gifts of £25,000 and more, working collaboratively across the excellent Development department. Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts, the Senior Major Gifts Manager will support Development senior management, Trustees, and the Development in their solicitation of principal and major gifts.

The appointed candidate will have experience in a fundraising capacity with a successful track record of meeting targets and personally soliciting and securing five-figure philanthropic gifts. There will be evidence in your application of relationship management to proactively develop a portfolio of prospects and of demonstrable prospect research skills. Key responsibilities

Challenge events & community fundraising

• Lead on the delivery and growth of Trekstock’s challenge events portfolio, including Trek This City, London Marathon places and third‑party events
• Recruit, manage and inspire participants and volunteers, supporting them to reach (and smash) their fundraising targets
• Build meaningful supporter journeys for fundraisers and volunteers that feel personal, motivating and on brand
• Work closely with colleagues and volunteers to promote events and bring supporter stories to life

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM) geoengineering, a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct its own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for fifteen years, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.

Role

We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and working closely with the Founder & CEO and the Chair of the Trustees, the Fundraising / Development Manager will support and coordinate fundraising efforts aimed at securing multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship, and will support and coordinate the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. The post holder will receive initial onboarding support from the Senior Philanthropy Advisor. As fundraising grows, the team may expand in the future.

Initial priorities include expansion beyond the current donor pool, with a strong push to engage new funders, and putting in place the systems (CRM, reporting cadence, key performance indicators) to support growth at scale.

As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items will include: 

Strategy & planning

• Work with the CEO, COO, Senior Philanthropy Advisor, the Chair of the Trustees, and other senior staff to support the development and implementation of a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational objectives; 

Pipeline development & new opportunities 

• Maintain and coordinate the fundraising pipeline, supporting the fundraising activities of senior staff and the Chair; 

• Support the identification and development of new funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, government funders, and multilateral donors in the development and climate sectors on an ongoing basis; 

• Reach out to networks of climate philanthropy advisors for referrals; 

• Manage contact with funding opportunities; 

Grant writing 

• Draft and coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals; 

Donor stewardship & reporting 

• Maintain excellent relations with existing funders by keeping them informed on charity and sector updates, inviting them to events, and ensuring the delivery of annual reports and notices; 

• Ensure and manage ongoing reporting; 

Events & engagement 

• Working with the Events Manager, help design and deliver fundraising events for existing and potential funders, particularly in the UK and US; 

• Manage invitation lists, track attendance and ensure bespoke follow-up to attendees; 

• Assist in the design of events that will inspire and engage funders while involving Southern experts in the Degrees research community; 

• Coordinate all fundraising outreach and related programming for the Degrees Global Forum (a conference to be held in 2027); 

Processes, systems & administration 

• Support the development and implementation of structured processes across the entire fundraising and donor lifecycle; 

• Develop and track KPIs, providing regular reports to senior staff and the Trustees;

Qualifications 

Essential 

• At least ten years’ experience in fundraising or transferrable relevant experience;

• Track record of helping secure six- and seven-figure grants income from foundations, major individual donors, and/or public agencies; 

• Strong organisational and project management skills; 

• Experience and comfort with Microsoft 365, fundraising CRMs and other common software tools; 

• Experience organising events; 

• Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively in English with a keen attention to detail;

As Legacy Case Manager, you will:

About The Role 

We’re looking for a dynamic and relationship-driven Senior Fundraising / Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on, develop, grow and relationship manage our portfolio of corporate partners through business development, and relationship management. The role

 We are seeking an experienced Manager of Philanthropic Giving with a strong track record in securing major gifts. The ideal candidate will excel at building trusted, long-term relationships with donors and feel confident leading conversations that result in significant philanthropic support. This role will also contribute to the development and delivery of a trusts and foundations strategy, helping to grow and strengthen our portfolio.

Working closely with the CEO, senior leadership and trustees, you will develop compelling funding propositions, steward donors and funders through excellent reporting and engagement, and represent myaware at meetings, events and networking opportunities. You will also maintain accurate records through our CRM system, track performance against targets, and contribute to income planning and reporting. The Manager of Philanthropic Giving will be predominantly home based within the UK (with occasional working and meetings at Derby HQ) and will work in co-operation with the fundraising team and all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising targets and campaigns. Own transport is essential for this role as occasional travel throughout the UK will be required to attend donor meetings, events and networking opportunities, as well as the ability to travel to the Derby office. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

You will have experience of Trusts and Foundations fundraising including pipeline management and stewardship, writing compelling funding applications and impact reports.

You will be a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal, research and organisational skills, confident managing a complex pipeline and working collaboratively across teams. You will be comfortable working independently, using CRM systems, and engaging senior stakeholders, including trustees and high-level donors. Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our specialist benefits and welfare advisor. 

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

We're looking for a Senior Fundraising Manager to lead a team of three, drive our grant-funding strategy, and manage a portfolio of high-value relationships, including with Arts Council England, during a 14-month maternity cover period. What you'll be leading

• Implementing the trusts and statutory strategy in partnership with the Head of Trusts and Statutory Fundraising
• Managing a high-value portfolio of prospective and existing funders, including securing seven-figure grants
• Leading on Arts Council England funding; applications, compliance, relationships and future investment
• Line managing two Fundraising Managers and providing accountability for a Trusts and Statutory Executive
• Collaborating across the organisation to identify and develop new funding opportunities
• Ensuring all fundraising activity meets due diligence, regulatory and organisational requirements
• Representing the charity at senior level with funders and at sector events

About you
You'll be an experienced senior fundraiser who combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You know what it takes to build and sustain six and seven-figure funder relationships, and you're equally comfortable leading a team and writing a compelling proposal. You're motivated by mission and by helping others reach their potential.

• Proven experience as a senior manager in a national charity

We're looking for a Fundraising Manager, Trusts & Statutory to join our Development team and grow our income from charitable trusts and foundations. You'll manage a portfolio of high-value funders, craft compelling proposals, and forge the kind of long-term relationships that sustain our work in 22 of the UK's most under-resourced communities.

What you'll be doing

• Building and managing a pipeline of five and six-figure trust and foundation grants
• Writing persuasive, evidence-rich funding applications and stewardship reports
• Developing deep, lasting relationships with funders at all levels, from programme officers to trustees

The organisation is a charity committed to improving social mobility in the UK. Their work is focused on improving social mobility through education opportunities. Their mission is to level the playing field for young people from low-income backgrounds so that they have a fair chance of accessing leading universities, apprenticeships, and jobs. With a three-pronged approach including programmes, research, and policy advocacy, the organisation supports nearly 12,000 young people each year and they have been able to work towards keeping social mobility high in the political agenda.

As the Philanthropy Manager you will predominantly manage the portfolio of Fellows giving at the being £15k, £5k, and £1k per year level, as well as relationships with donors giving much more. The Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for developing the alumni giving campaign and will spot opportunities for further cultivation and donor engagement throughout the philanthropy portfolio of the organisation. The Philanthropy Manager will be a true relationship management and will line manage a Philanthropy Assistant while reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, working closely too with the Director of Development.

To be successful as the Philanthropy Manager you will have experience of building and managing donor relationships with individuals giving four-figures and above per year in a philanthropy team or other fundraising capacity through structured giving schemes. You will have experience of working with key senior colleagues across and organisation to secure major gifts and steward relationships and will have good knowledge of the UK fundraising environment, including trends in philanthropy.

This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices for at least two days per week. The salary for this role is £42,025 to £48,000.
