We are seeking a motivated and analytical person to join our experienced team, to conduct philanthropy research and reputational due diligence research in a higher education setting.
About the role:
Within the University of Oxford’s Development and Alumni Engagement office, our work drives the ambitious fundraising activities of the University, by providing tailored insights to build relationships with new and existing major donors (individuals, corporations and foundations).
Finding, evaluating, and communicating information clearly and effectively is the essence of this role.

We are recruiting for a Communications Manager who will report to the Head of Advocacy & Communications and work closely with others in the team including one direct report.
The Advocacy & Communications Team works to support all area of our work including our Stop It Now helpline and programmes, our Shore website and support for young people, our paid services including training, assessments, intervention and consultancy as well as our advocacy, fundraising, research and teams in Scotland and Wales.
You will be responsible for project managing communications for our different services, teams and brands. You will develop, manage and deliver communication plans for these areas, working with operational colleagues to make the most of their expertise.
You will lead proactive reactive national, regional and trade press engagements across the charity. This includes a high-profile national campaign and several other projects vital to our success, identifying and developing newsworthy angles.
You will maintain existing relationships with journalists and build new ones to raise support of our work and advocate for the importance of preventing child sexual abuse. You will support and develop the skills of our spokespeople and work with case studies to make sure their stories are told in a sensitive and engaging way.
You will also be responsible for our blog posts and growing that audience proactively finding opportunities to shine a ilght on all areas of our work.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be a communications all-rounder. You'll be a great project manager, able to plan and stick to timeline, understanding how to bring in and get the mot out of everyone involved.
You'll be at home working with journalists, spokespeople and case studies. You will be energetic and proactive to find, shape and sell stories.
You'll be on board with our mission to prevent child sexual abuse through working with people who have committed it or are at risk of doing so, plus the families and professionals around them.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE
• You will play a vital role in supporting the team to drive the new business pipeline, build relationships with potential partners, lead proposal writing, and inspire long-term financial commitment to Missing People.

• Together with the Corporate Fundraising team, developing a strong pipeline of new partnership opportunities with a focus on £50k+ multi-year partnerships.
• Supporting the Corporate Fundraising Manager and Officer to cultivate and secure new high-value partnerships, with a focus on five and six figure opportunities in line with our ambitious targets. This could include, but not limited to: writing compelling proposals and applications, pitching, leading staff votes and leading on contract negotiations.
• Working with the Corporate Partnership Manager in delivering excellent relationship management to all Missing People’s high value partners, with a focus on building long-term, sustainable support and revenue.
• Being the leading authority in ‘Charity Of The Year’ applications, proposal and report writing.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to have experience of:
• Working in corporate fundraising;
• Winning significant new business and achieving agreed targets;
• Successful account management of large nationwide companies;
• Delivering high quality written bids, pitches and relationships that have led to winning new business;
• Setting and delivering effective, engaging fundraising plans with corporate partners.
You must also have:
• Highly developed skills in both new business and account management;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to develop tailored and compelling Charity of the Year applications, presentations and communications;
• Ability to direct client facing meetings, getting to the core of what motivates a partner to take action, and present a case for support convincingly;

The Role
FareShare has a dynamic fundraising department that has seen incredible growth in support in an incredibly short space of time. We are now looking for a proven Supporter Retention Manager to join us as we embark on our next phase of deepening engagement with current and new supporters.
This newly created role is an integral part of the Fundraising team’s growth plans to become a £40 million income generating team.
Working closely with the Supporter Acquisition Manager, Supporter Experience Manager (Fundraising Operations) and the wider Fundraising team, the post-holder will lead on stewardship campaigns encompassing Warm Appeals, Regular Giving asks, Supporter newsletters and cross-sell campaigns across FareShare’s audiences. Line management of an Individual Giving Officer (or Assistant) may form part of the roles and responsibilities further down the line.
The role offers a fantastic opportunity for a proven Individual Giving professional to help drive innovation in supporter retention and development and make a decisive contribution to a high-performing team.
Main areas of responsibility
1.Plan and deliver the Warm Appeals programme in line with agreed budget targets and annual workplans
- Campaign manage the Cash Appeals programme at all stages, from initial planning through to supplier management and post-campaign analysis
- Develop and implement a rolling programme of Regular Giving Asks.
2.Develop and manage a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the initial touchpoint through to longer-term giving
- Work with the Supporter Acquisition Manager and the Supporter Experience Manager on planning, delivering and managing a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the point of acquisition
- Actively monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement
- Hold regular catch-ups with the Supporter Acquisition Manager and the Supporter Experience Manager to optimise collaborative working across both teams
- Keep up to date on the latest trends and techniques in Supporter Stewardship and apply learnings as appropriate on retention initiatives.
3.Maximise opportunities for cross-team campaigns
- Collaborate with the wider fundraising team on new and existing income generation opportunities.
4.General duties
- Provide support to the Individual Giving team where necessary.

Run in partnership with Nacro and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust, ‘Recovery Near You’ in Wolverhampton provides a wide range of alcohol and drugs related support services to adults in the area. We also use a comprehensive data collection system to measure the effectiveness of services in response to the needs of funders, service managers, senior management, and others. That’s where you come in.
An interesting part-time role based on-site across the two offices where the service operates from, your challenge will be to help in all aspects of data. Initially, you’ll receive extensive training and support from our Data Team to help build your knowledge of our recording systems and procedures. Then, working with new and existing staff, you’ll be responsible for helping them to understand correct data entry and record-keeping procedures to help us improve data quality and accuracy. As well as regularly working on your own to conduct data cleansing and reporting to further enhance our data quality, you’ll also need to liaise with the Data Manager and Data Team to provide ongoing support to our staff with any queries they have.
To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of IT, including data systems, infrastructure and communication systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. You’ll also need experience of presenting using PowerPoint and be comfortable dealing with colleagues and a range of professionals at all levels. Familiarity with the Data Protection Act (1998) and GDPR (2018) is important too, while an understanding of data in the context of Health and Social Care, though not essential, would be useful. Self-motivated, with a flair for planning and prioritising your work, you have excellent attention to detail and are calm and efficient when up against deadlines. What’s more, you work well on your own initiative and as part of a team and have a flexible approach, including a willingness to work some evenings and weekends and in different locations as required.

About the position
Are you a highly-creative communicator with a sharp eye for visual impact and a way with words and design? Ways of Working:
