If you provide massage, reiki, reflexology or acupuncture or are a qualified counsellor or hypnotherapist, and want to help improve the wellbeing of people affected by cancer, we want to hear from you.
You will provide complementary therapy or counselling to people affected by cancer and their loved ones in our dedicated well-being space, The Cavendish Centre and at Weston Park Cancer Centre, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Palliative Care Unit at the Northern General Hospital and Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The key aspects of this important new role are supporting membership, championing communications and impact, and overseeing youth engagement, which you will lead on at an organisational level, working closely with senior colleagues.

- Overseeing YCF’s collection and effective use of our CRM and data, including about members
- Developing and writing effective and impactful reporting and storytelling of YCF’s work
- Embedding effective communications across YCF’s team
- Overseeing YCF’s online presence, including social media and our website
Youth engagement: Finally, you will oversee YCF’s youth engagement, via the following areas:
- Overseeing the delivery of our Young Ambassadors programme, in coordination with a leading youth social action provider, in line with best practice
- Facilitate and develop impactful opportunities for young Camdeners to have a say in decisions that impact them
You will also be a key leader at YCF and a core member of the SMT, managing two part-time staff members. You will champion the areas of membership, impact and communications and youth engagement across YCF and with external stakeholders. You will be called upon to represent the organisation in key spaces, including with Camden Council, key funders, and elsewhere.

Main purpose of post
This role is to lead and be responsible for the development, management and
delivery of WPCC’s high quality, professional counselling and complementary
therapy services for adults, and for children and young people, at the Cavendish
Centre and in outreach locations. This role supports the holistic well-being of
service users, ensuring the services are safe, effective, accessible, and aligned
with the charity’s values and objectives
To lead and be responsible for the delivery of effective service provision,
including outreach services, and to maintain the ethos and high
standard of the supportive care offered.
To lead a service that provides one-to-one and small group
complementary therapy services and one-to-one counselling for around
1,000 beneficiaries per annum, including outreach provision in hospitals.
To be responsible for the management of a complementary therapy and
counselling services budget of around £500,000 per annum.
Leadership & Service Development
Lead and develop complementary therapy and counselling services to
meet the needs of clients, families, and carers.
Plan and schedule timetables and freelance staffing rotas to maximise
the availability of counselling and complementary therapies within
available budgets, maximising freelancer availability and efficient
appointment scheduling.
Evaluate and enhance service delivery in line with best practices, clinical
guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and implement service improvements, based on user feedback,
evidence-based practice, and sector developments.
Work effectively with the Head of Cancer Services and other service leads
to ensure counselling and complementary therapies are an integral part
of the wider WPCC service offer to people affected by cancer.
To be part of a service lead team which can provide leadership cover
across all services to address day-to-day operational issues, including
safeguarding cover (for adult and children’s services) and maintenance
of service availability.
Freelance therapist management
Recruit, support, and manage a multidisciplinary team of freelance
counsellors, therapists, and volunteers.
Ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality, and
have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
Provide professional oversight of freelance therapists ensuring all
professional standards are met
Ensure all team members adhere to safeguarding, clinical governance,
and confidentiality standards.
To ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality
and have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration
to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ethical standards and legal
requirements in counselling and complementary therapy (e.g. BACP,
CNHC, HCPC).
Oversee risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and incident
reporting procedures.
Monitor and report on service performance using agreed metrics and
impact evaluation tools.
Client Care & Support
Ensure services are inclusive, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and
tailored to individual needs.
Act as a senior point of contact for complex cases, ensuring appropriate
pathways and referrals.
Maintain a client-centred approach, fostering dignity, respect, and
empowerment.
Partnerships & Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with health professionals, community
organisations, and funders.
Liaise as required with external stakeholders, such as healthcare
professionals, safeguarding teams, education providers, social services,
and third sector partners.
Promote the service through outreach, events, and stakeholder
engagement.
Contribute to grant applications, reports, and impact assessments to
support sustainability and growth.
Governance, Administration & Reporting
Manage budgets for therapy and counselling services, ensuring costeffectiveness.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a part time Legal Counsel to join our In-House Legal team at SNG for a fixed term contract for 1 year. You'll be working 27 hours a week reporting into one of our Senior Legal Counsels and working together with Legal Advisers and other Legal Counsels.

The role
You'll be responsible for your own caseload of legal cases as well as working with senior members of the team to partner with the business to resolve more complex legal cases and provide strategic input, including but not limited to:
- Managing legal processes for statutory Right to Acquire and statutory Preserved Right to Buy applications received by SNG. This includes all eligibility, drafting of all statutory notices and the entire conveyancing process.
- Carrying out legal work required for asset management of a shared ownership property portfolio including, acting for the landlord on staircasing of shared ownership leases; dealing with repossessions of shared ownership leases; acting on assignments of shared ownership leases – to include transfers of the superior title on 100% staircasing when required
- Advising on an extensive range of property matters involving leasehold estates, whether SNG is landlord or leaseholder, including service charge provisions and legislation, understanding the extent of obligations, tenancy breach, replies to enquiries, etc
- Carrying out legal reviews of title, planning, estate documents and leases to provide reports and advice on the above.
What we're looking for
You'll need previous experience in a similar legal role, with experience in legal matters relating to Property. We need you to have transactional experience but experience of portfolio asset management is desirable. We will provide training on aspects of property law work that are less commonly carried out where you may not have dealt with previously eg Right to Buy/Acquire rules.
You'll also need:
- To hold a valid Practising Certificate (or equivalent) to ensure you can carry out Reserved Work as defined by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, as well as be responsible for the supervision of members of the team who are not qualified to undertake Reserved Work
- 2 years + PQE working within a law firm, in-house legal department, housing association or local authority and managing own legal caseload of similar cases
- Strong understanding of Landlord and Tenant law and substantial experience of drafting Transfers of Whole Part and residential leases
- Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise your work and able to meet the demands of statutory timescales
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop strong working relationships within the Legal team, with internal clients and other third-party stakeholders

Reporting to: CEO
Line Management Reports: Clinical Managers, Outreach Therapist/s, and support staff.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Functions

Oversee the Implementation and roll out of CORE CMS across the service. (New project)
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Clinical Leadership and Management experience in a small or similar organisation. Managing and working with minoritised or deprived groups with multiple barriers and limited access to psychotherapy. Experience of producing Board reports and working with commissioners, developing funding applications, and service level agreements for Clinical services. Experience of Clinical Governance and reporting targets and outcomes.
Training and 6+ years direct experience in using psychotherapeutic and trauma informed approaches with recognised post graduate psychotherapy qualification. Accreditation with either BPC, UKCP, BACP, ICP, NCPS and/or IACP. Evidence of up-to-date practice as recommended by relevant professional body.
Knowledge and experience of SharePoint and the Microsoft suite of tools.

The role will include facilitating specialist psycho-educational groups, 12 step, relapse prevention therapeutic groups and individual counselling sessions.
You will work closely with our Supported Housing team and be required to participate in regular team meetings. You will also be required to liaise with external agencies and work creatively to provide the most appropriate treatment plans for clients with complex needs. You may be required to cover occasional evening Aftercare groups.
Main Responsibilities
•
Undertake assessments of people entering the service through various referral sources.
•
Develop, facilitate, and review a group work programme that meets the needs of our clients. These might include dual diagnosis, trauma, cross-addiction, criminal justice issues and various types of substance use.
•
Provide a holistic package of care to people which meets their needs and includes working with colleagues across other teams to help residents with diversionary activities, employment, training, and education.
•
Work with the Supported Housing team to ensure residents are safe, secure, and maintain their tenancies and are prepared to move onto independent living.
•
Provide a range of one-to-one interventions that might include MI, person-centered care, CBT, DBT and trauma work.
•
Manage a caseload of individuals with a wide spectrum of needs.
•
Assist residents to understand the effects and benefits of any medication prescribed for them and the importance of complying with treatment regimes. This might include liaising with pharmacists, doctors, and psychiatrists for monitoring purposes.
•
Provide psychoeducation to raise awareness and understanding of substances and their effects.
•
Provide onward referral and liaison with wrap-around support within SCT to enable our residents to achieve social integration and personal development.
Client Management
•
Coordinate and carry out assessments of new residents and the referral and acceptance process, ensuring that each client has a programme appropriate to their needs.

Conduct joint 3 and 6-monthly reviews with Supported Housing team colleagues.
•
Provide group and individual counselling as required by the service.
•
Support residents from admission until completion of treatment.

Comply with all monitoring and evaluation requirements.

Qualifications and Experience ESSENTIAL
•
Educated to degree level or Diploma Level 4 in Counselling.
•
Two years’ experience of therapeutic work with: people in recovery, people experiencing homelessness or people with significant trauma histories / adverse childhood experiences.
•
One year’s experience of one-to-one counselling.
•
A solid working understanding of CBT, MI, Relapse Prevention techniques and/or other interventions applicable to working with people in recovery.
•
Experience in delivering therapeutic group work.
•
Experience in encouraging individuals to reflect on their behaviour (consequences and risks), recognise the benefits and potential for change and provide support and encouragement to help residents achieve change positively within an abstinent community.

Brief Description/Summary
As Patient Service Co-ordinator you will be responsible for managing referrals from our service users, who are all those affected by kidney disease in Wales, including children, youths, adults, and families. You will build and maintain constructive working relationships with people who use our services, people with kidney disease, carers, colleagues, and community networks
Our Patient Service Co-ordinator acts as a vital liaison, responsible for managing all referrals from our service users, identifying the support needed, facilitating appointments for peer support and counselling, communicating between patients, referrers, volunteer peer mentors and counsellors. Referring patients to internal services as well as external organisations. Other duties include providing general advice and guidance, developing links with external providers, organisation or individuals that can support our kidney community of Wales, administrative support include assisting accessing healthcare services, maintaining referral records, and resolving referral concerns to support efficient and effective care.
As Patient Services Co-ordinator you will also build relationships with Health Care Professionals to help raise awareness of our services, building our referral partners to ensure all patients are supported at the point of need.
Salary is Grade 1 to Grade 2, based on a 40 hour work week with paid breaks. It is also based on experience.
