The NSE is working with the Vision and Strategy team to help deliver this vision through a range of projects in our 'Growing Faith' pillar which focus on the intersection between church, home and school; aiming to develop the faith life of children and young people, whilst also growing young leaders.

We are a dynamic team, working remotely from our homes around the country. We gather regularly online and also have in-person team days throughout the year.

What you'll be doing

The National Society for Education is seeking an inspiring and visionary leader to head its Growing Faith and Young Leaders workstream - a strategic post within our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This dynamic role will shape and deliver key national initiatives including the Growing Faith Foundation, FLOURISH Network of Worshipping Communities, and a suite of leadership programmes such as the Archbishops' Young Leaders Award, Flourishing Young Leaders, and Young Voices at General Synod.

Summary of main responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across our core Growing Faith workstream, managing senior team leads and national programme heads
• Strategically overseeing the implementation of leadership development programmes for adult and young leaders of mission and ministry with children and young people within the FLOURISH movement
• Develop long-term strategic partnerships with diocese, school trust, school/college and church leaders to enable the effective embedding of FLOURISH, Growing Faith Foundation, and Young Leaders programmes at all levels
• Champion safeguarding excellence and spiritual leadership through inclusive practices and worship
• Drive innovation in leadership development for children (4-18) and young adults (18-25)
• Embed a culture of faith-led partnership between church, school and household
• Oversee the national rollout of FLOURISH communities - aiming for 450 sites by 2030
• Shape research, resource planning and evaluation strategies across the team
• Collaborate with diocesan, NCI and national stakeholders on transformative church revitalisation

The role of CEO at Emerge is full of opportunity and potential. It is varied and at times complex, requiring a person of integrity, person centred leadership skills and responsibility.

As a Christian organisation (as stated in our registered charity objectives) we require our CEO to have a Christian faith whose theology is worked out in their day-to-day life – professionally and personally. · Has experience of overseeing the legal requirements of running an organisation, employing staff and running an effective charity.

We recognise that not every candidate interested in this role will have the full breadth of experience, knowledge and skills we outline in the job description and person specification on the following pages. The majority of the role fits within a standard working day, but it will involve some evening working, and occasional weekend work recognised through an informal time in lieu process. There is some scope to work at home occasionally but youth work and leading a youth work charity mainly requires your regular presence in our offices and venues.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising and income generation

• Work with Impetus CEO and SMT to support the delivery of the Impetus strategy and business plan and deliver the public affairs milestones to time and within budget.
• Champion and contribute to embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across all areas of Impetus' work, ensuring that EDI principles related to Impetus’ mission are reflected in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications and public positioning.
• Vision setting and strong line management of the Public Affairs team, developing their capabilities, representing the team at SMT and to the Board and ensuring it continues to make a valuable - and valued - contribution to the achievement of Impetus’s objectives, through building and implementing high quality work plans for the team and ensuring the wider Impetus team is aligned on these.

Senior Fundraising and Research Officer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Fundraising and Research Officer to join the team at Right to Succeed, helping us build on the great work we’re already doing and achieve even more.

Position: Senior Fundraising and Research Officer
Location: Contractually based from one of our offices with flexibility to work from home, subject to business requirements and line manager approval.

The Role

Working as part of a small but ambitious team, you will support fundraising and donor research for Right to Succeed, a fast-growing national charity delivering place-based and educational change in disadvantaged communities.

This role will see you:

• Undertake in-depth prospect donor research, using tools such as Funds Online, GrantNav 360 Giving, and CRM systems.
• Produce research briefings and present findings to support fundraising strategy.
• Provide high-quality administrative support, including meeting coordination, thank you letters, and CRM updates.
• Support the delivery of fundraising events and donor visits.
• Contribute to the writing of funding applications, bids, and monitoring reports.
• Lead on administrative support for the Individual Giving funding stream.

We are looking for a fundraiser to lead, manage and deliver the fundraising strategy and activities of SBS. Develop relationships, networks and communication channels to advance the work and objectives of SBS across all types of existing and potential new supporters (e.g. individuals, churches & communities, major donors, trusts & foundations).  

You will be passionate about the transformational impact of the Bible and motivated to use your extensive fundraising experience to amplify stories from Scotland and around the world to resonate with a Scottish Christian audience. 

You will continue to cultivate and steward our relationships and partnerships with supporters.

You will have a talent for motivating others to do their best work, coaching them to work collaboratively across SBS.  

Faith requirement – to engage with existing and new SBS audiences, this role carries an occupational requirement that the post-holder is a Christian.  An understanding of the different Christian communities in Scotland and playing an active part in the spiritual life of the organisation is vital to this role. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all the fundraising activities of SBS, including management of the fundraising team.
• Develop and maintain a fundraising strategy in line with the overall strategy for SBS, this includes taking a lead in the forecasting and setting of fundraising targets.
• Take a lead in the recruitment and retainment of individual donors by developing and managing appropriate activities to expand the SBS donor base, exploring and implementing various methods to achieve this.
• Supervise the recruitment and retainment of support from churches and communities (including Action Groups) by developing relationships with them and ensuring they are equipped and encouraged to fundraise.
• Develop a major donor fundraising programme and manage long-term relationships.
• Help identify opportunities and support applications to charitable trusts, grant making bodies and companies, and assist in managing subsequent relationships with funding partners.
• Develop and manage a programme focused on legacy giving across all supporter types.
• Research, test and develop fundraising ideas and opportunities for income generation across all supporter types and all channels of communication.  Report on test results with a view to constantly evolving SBS tactics to meet objectives.
• Provide regular reporting on all fundraising activities, for Senior Staff and Board.  Provide up to date income levels by source, any associated expenditure and what the overall ROI is for SBS.  Be able to provide this as verbal updates and electronically - making comparisons against projections, historical performance and industry averages.
• Keep up to date and ensure SBS complies with fundraising legislation, standards and best practice including GDPR and PECR.
• Support SBS with detailed knowledge of the United Bible Societies (UBS) fellowship projects SBS support and provide a steer on what opportunities there are that would fit with the overall strategy for SBS.
• Set objectives for the Fundraising team in line with the fundraising strategy and overall strategy for SBS.
• Motivate and support staff in setting their personal objectives and managing their performance by providing encouragement, feedback and having regular 1-2-1s with them so they achieve their objectives and that of the team, department and overall SBS objectives.
• Fulfill line management responsibilities in line with policies and procedures for line managers at SBS (e.g. appraisals, holiday requests, absence monitoring, recruitment).

About you

• SBS believes that spiritual maturity, character and behaviour are just as important as fundraising competence, therefore you will be a devoted follower of Jesus with a passion for the Bible. You will be active in a local church that supports your vocation and provides spiritual support.
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in a senior fundraising or development position.
• Proven track record of leading fundraising strategy and campaigns for a charitable organisation, or a background in campaign management driving sales for a commercial organisation.
• Confidence in testing and optimising campaign activity and strategies through a robust, analytical methodology.
• Experience working for charitable organisations, or in international development or similar areas, interacting with a board of directors and with an understanding of charity reporting.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to manage projects and organise your own workload and that of direct line reports.
• Strong leadership and people management skills balanced with a willingness to listen and learn from others.  A genuine interest in developing people.
• A natural preference for collaboration and teamwork, able to interact and manage a wide range of stakeholders at different levels of seniority, sometimes in a cross-cultural context, to deliver the best possible outcome for the charity.
• Excellent working knowledge of GDPR, advertising standards, fundraising standards, and other industry governance.

Research and Impact Data

This is a key role in the Freedom Fund’s Research & Evaluation team, playing a key role in measuring the real-world impact of anti-slavery initiatives across the globe. You’ll also contribute to research and evaluation projects that deepen understanding and improve the ways we work to prevent and address modern slavery.

In this role, you’ll manage the digital backbone of our data systems, ensuring that impact is measured consistently and meaningfully. You’ll provide colleagues and partners with the tools and training they need to monitor progress and address challenges. Through engaging dashboards and innovative visualisations, you’ll turn complex data into accessible insights for a wide range of audiences: from grassroots partners to the Freedom Fund’s senior leadership.

You’ll report to the Head of Research & Evaluation and work alongside Research & Evaluation team members based globally. The role will involve one to two international trips per year. Job purpose

To support Debt Advisers in their roles and ensure that the advice provided to overindebted Clients is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. To support, and regularly audit delivery partner organisations, ensuring that they are prepared for external reviews of their service in line with their Grant Agreement.

Scope of role

The Debt Technical Supervisor is responsible for supporting Debt Advisers to ensure the delivery of accurate, effective, and tailored advice to over-indebted clients. This role involves conducting debt-advice interview observations, reviewing case files, and identifying training needs for advisers. The Debt Technical Supervisor provides real-time support and constructive feedback, helping advisers navigate complex cases and ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and information. Additionally, the role includes auditing delivery partner organisations to prepare them for external reviews and supporting them in meeting compliance and quality standards. The supervisor will collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to promote best practices, address risks, and contribute to the continuous professional development of advisers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Debt Advisers in their roles and ensure that the advice provided to over- indebted Clients is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances.

• Conducting debt-advice interview observations
• Undertaking debt advice file reviews
• Identifying advisers’ soft skill and technical training needs
• Providing constructive feedback, and pastoral support, to advisers and their line managers
• Providing real-time support to advisers, which will include but is not limited to providing guidance in complex matters and provide advisers with sources of information.

2. Support, and regularly audit delivery partner organisations, ensuring that they are prepared for external reviews of their service in line with the Grant Agreement.

• Ensure partner organisation are kept up to date with the requirements for external assessments.
• Supporting partner organisations with the preparation and review of files and documentation ahead of an external assessment.

Role Overview 

The Director of Development at the Foundling Museum will lead the Museum’s fundraising strategy, driving income generation to support its mission and programmes. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the Board of Trustees in setting, and then delivering the charity's strategic direction, overseeing its operational and financial management, and ensuring long-term sustainability.  You will work closely with our dedicated team to achieve our mission and goals, while working alongside the Board of Trustees to uphold robust governance and compliance standards.

We are looking for a CEO who is able to inspire a team, support a positive work culture with shared values.  We also need that person to understand the demands of running a small organisation and the importance of partnership working.  No day is the same and flexibility and adaptability are essential!
