The Role

Job Purpose:
The Fundraising Manager (Grants & Trusts) will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful fundraising strategy focused on trusts, foundations, and statutory grants. They will identify new funding opportunities, build relationships with funders, and write compelling applications that align with St Bride Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities.
This role is crucial in securing core funding, project-specific grants, and capital funding, enabling us to expand our heritage, learning, and community engagement programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grant & Trust Fundraising
- Develop and implement a revenue and capital fundraising strategy, identifying compelling propositions and packages, and setting and securing agreed targets.
- Research and identify trusts, foundations, and grant opportunities aligned with our mission.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of funding prospects, ensuring a strategic and proactive approach to fundraising.
- Write and submit high-quality, compelling funding applications for core, project, and capital funding.
- Track and meet application deadlines, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
- Work with the Board of Trustees to establish and manage a Fundraising Committee.
2. Relationship Management & Stewardship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with grant funders, trustees, and key stakeholders.
- Prepare engaging impact reports, updates, and presentations for funders.
- Ensure timely and effective stewardship and recognition of funders, increasing long-term support.
- Building internal relationships to developing an understanding of the work/projects and funding needs.
3. Strategy & Income Growth
- Develop and implement a trusts and grants fundraising strategy, setting targets and KPIs to maximise income.
- Work as part of the Senior Management Team to align funding applications with strategic priorities.
- Identify opportunities for multi-year funding and partnerships that provide sustainable income.
4. Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare regular reports on fundraising activities, including progress towards goals, donor acquisition, and retention rates.
- Ensure all grants and funding received are managed effectively, with clear budgeting and financial reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date records of applications, funding received, and reporting deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Management team to ensure effective grant delivery and reporting.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Several years of proven experience in trusts and grants fundraising, with a track record of securing funding from foundations, trusts, and statutory bodies.
- Strong research and prospecting skills, identifying the right funders for key projects.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, able to create compelling grant applications and reports.
- Experience in relationship management, with the ability to engage funders and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of budgeting and financial reporting for grant-funded projects.
- Knowledge of the charity sector and fundraising best practices.

The Hospice has invested in digital development. The Director of Media and Digital income oversees income to the value of £400k with a trajectory for growth. This includes all appeals, promotion of established products like legacy giving and matched funding programmes. The legacy pipeline was redesigned in 2024 with an award winning film “I will 1%” inspired by the work of Richard Ratcliffe. The Hospice is one of over 100 Hospices working with Hospice UK to promote legacy funding at a national and local level with a combined campaign. Investment for the future means The Hospice has a centrally managed people and systems team, this includes management of our CRM (Donify), enabling the Executive Team report on KPIs with internally triangulated data for better decision-making. The Hospice is also working with Finegreen to recruit an interim Head of Philanthropy to review the approach to philanthropy to date and make clear recommendations. A third party will deliver market research to update intelligence on current and potential markets for supporters. With innovation at its core, The Hospice has embedded ‘everyone’s a fundraiser’ into the organisational culture. As our Director of Fundraising, you will be an innovative strategic leader, a people person who combines humanity with data driven decision-making. As part of the strategy of the Hospice your business case development will deliver an additional ≥£1m by 2028, in a trajectory for growth. We are praying for a talented Director of Fundraising and Supporter Partnerships to join our Leadership Team. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a vital role at Cure Parkinson’s, as our Research Grants Officer. This role will be responsible for supporting research scientists who are applying for grants or are carrying out funded research for us. This work is critical for us to achieve the charity’s main objective of funding Parkinson’s research to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.
As our Research Grants Officer you will be comfortable building relationships and providing support for researchers. You will be an effective member of our pioneering Research Team, ultimately helping us to drive scientific discovery forward and bring us closer to a cure.

Battersea's Global Programmes Department is looking for a Grants and Programmes Manager to manage the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats. Over the coming five years it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a senior grant making role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of people management, strategic leadership and good grant making practice.
The successful postholder should be comfortable making proposals, suggesting alternative approaches and solutions, supporting the contributions of others, and advancing the collective interests of a team. They should also be comfortable working with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues and external partners as an integral element of the role. The successful postholder should be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, to pose and field questions of considerable complexity and sensitivity and use discretion in carrying out a constructive and effective dialogue; they will be comfortable with proposing ideas, engaging in productive debate, supporting the contributions of others, and in other ways advancing Battersea’s strategic interests.

Head of Grants

Position: Head of Grants

Hours: Part-time (4 days per week)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 pro rata

About the Role
This role is key to shaping how the organisation maximises impact over the next 5 years, delivering on ambitions for the 2024-2029 Strategy. The aspiration is to help 10,000 young people at risk or experiencing homelessness, to reach their full potential.
By working with key players in the youth homelessness landscape, like-minded organisations, and embedding the voices and experiences of young people in this work, you will help maximise social impact and deliver £150m in social value by March 2029.
You will ensure the charity is the best possible grant funder in the field, thoughtful, diligent, transparent and efficient, as it works with the very best charities across the country deliver vital support to young people facing homelessness.
You will be in charge of grant programme design, development, and delivery in line with the new strategy. You will have the opportunity to work on new programmes and ideas, and to gather data and insight from this vital work (and other sources) that will help both future grant-making and our influencing work nationally.
About You
Whilst grant-making experience would be helpful, what truly matters is your ability to strategically lead and drive projects that deliver impact. You’ll be at the forefront of developing and delivering new programmes, ensuring they align with key targets while bringing innovative ideas to life.
This role is not just about achieving KPIs, it’s about leading teams to achieve results. You will have experience of delivering presentations, developing ideas and projects collaboratively, and using data-driven insights to shape future projects and influence decision-making at a regional or national level. Strong project management, monitoring, and evaluation skills are key in this role, as are those of team- and partnership- working.
