ABOUT THE ROLE
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance has an exciting opportunity for an Aviation Director to join the Executive Team and to be responsible for all aspects of aviation and other, non-clinical, operational activities. Also, as part of EHAAT’s strategic plan to gain its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in late 2025, the Aviation Director will form and lead the new AOC team supported by our experienced AOC transition Programme Manager. As the AOC Accountable Manager, they will be responsible for all aspects of the safe, compliant and effective operation of our 2 AW169 helicopters in their life-saving role.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. This free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.
Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.
They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only in the hospital emergency department.
Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.
Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives…we can’t fly without you!

The Role
This is a work from home post and can be based remotely anywhere within the UK. There will be the need to travel to meetings in London occasionally and travel to our services across England and Scotland on an ad hoc basis.
As the newly appointed Business Development Finance Partner, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Director in identifying and evaluating new opportunities as well as working across the Organisation to support ongoing contract management and financial business management activities.
You will support our operational leadership across the UK to evaluate, monitor and review the financial aspects of new business opportunities, leading on financial elements of tenders and grants as well as contract management and risk appraisal processes.
The position provides an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong finance background (qualified or part-qualified accountants) to develop and enhance their careers through transitioning into a business management role.

About the Role
The role requires a well-structured and highly organised approach, to ensure delivery and reporting is of the highest quality and a creative and proactive approach, to navigate challenges and hold others to account, when needed. The Programme Manager will lead the grassroots consortium, Better Bethnal Green (BBG). The post holder will work with partners to support young people facing multiple/complex disadvantages in the borough, transforming the life trajectories of young people who have become marginalised by local poverty, unemployment, and crime, particularly those from BAME communities who are disproportionately affected by these issues.
Key responsibilities
* Programme Development, Delivery and Leadership: Lead and manage the delivery of the BBG programme, collaborating with partners, stakeholders, and the local community to develop and promote effective interventions, engaging key grassroots partners and young people.
* Community Engagement, Partnerships and Networking: Ensure local communities are informed, fostering a sense of ownership and participation. The Finance & Operations Assistant is a central resource within CGP, working with colleagues in the Operations Team, and across the organisation to provide financial and operational support to all areas of our work. They will work closely with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to process invoices, expenses and conduct weekly payment runs, ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are carefully adhered to. They will also support colleagues to follow our financial policies and processes and act as the first point of contact for any questions on these procedures. Additionally, they will provide general administrative and operational support to colleagues as outlined in the below job description.

Responsibilities
Finance
● Managing our accounts payable inbox, monitoring all incoming invoices and following up with team members on any missing information if required
● Processing and coding invoices in Xero accounting software ahead of weekly payment runs
● Checking that correct coding and approval procedures are followed for staff expenses in Soldo
● Conducting weekly payment runs via our online banking system
● Coordinating our monthly payroll processes (working with external providers)
● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support the development of funding proposals

Person specification
The right candidate is less likely to be defined by their qualifications and prior experience, but will be someone who meets the below criteria, and is ready to learn. Job Summary
