About The Role
As a Community Builder, you will be at the heart of our Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, supporting the charity’s objective to enhance reach with a focus on enabling a positive impact for members of the armed forces community facing challenges. You will do this by creating sustainable, community-led solutions that enhance their well-being. You will identify strengths within local communities, foster meaningful connections, and utilise this to create new networks and drive positive change.
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual who is passionate about collaboration and community-led change. If you believe in the power of strong, connected communities, this role is for you.
Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, you will create opportunities for members of the Armed Forces community (AFC) and their families to connect with Help for Heroes and their local community.
About You
You will have experience of working alongside communities to create the conditions for community-led change, ideally with experience of Asset-Based Community Development. You will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships, and inspire collaboration which will be essential in creating positive, lasting change.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct outreach to celebrate community strengths and foster engagement.

Develop and embed an ABCD-informed way of working.

Identify ‘Connectors’ across the community and provide opportunities for them to come together regularly to exchange learning and map community assets. Facilitate gatherings that empower community members to share their strengths, co-create initiatives, and foster a sense of belonging and ownership.

Encourage and support community-led action in response to local AFC interests / aspirations through peer led/ co – designed initiatives.

Increase awareness of challenges faced by military personnel, veterans, and their families.
We are looking for someone with:

A Community Development qualification and/or experience of taking an asset-based approach to community development with transferable skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships that drive action.

A track record of successful collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
PLEASE NOTE:

The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of the centre of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). There will The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.

There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.

The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. Core working days will be Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential, as regular evening and weekend work will also be required to meet the needs of the role. Working hours will vary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a two-week period, so please take this into consideration before applying.

You will be part of a newly formed Community Development team, dedicated to embedding Asset-Based Community Development. We will amplify the strengths already present in communities, forging lasting partnerships and initiatives that empower the Armed Forces community to thrive. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Person Specification
Essential:
· Experience in community fundraising, event management, volunteer coordination, or a similar supporter-facing role.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and inspire action.

Hours: 37.5 per week (flexible working considered, working a minimum of 0.9 FTE/33.75 hours per week)
Location: Between both sites – Winchester Science Centre (WSC), Winchester, SO21 1HZ, and Wonderseekers HQ, Eastleigh, SO50 9DE. Onsite presence is essential for the majority of this role, however occasional remote working is possible for a small proportion of time – this can be discussed at the interview stage.

1. The Role
The Head of Audiences is a new leadership role in the Commercial Operations team designed to ensure that audience insight and segmentation are at the heart of everything we do. This role will lead on understanding who our current and prospective audiences are, how they engage with us and what they need now and in the future. You will use this insight to guide programming, marketing, visitor experience at Winchester Science Centre but as we evolve our Charity’s reach and engagement you will play an important role in ensuring we fulfil our ambitious plans and reaching a diverse community. By building an inclusive and evidence-based audience strategy, this role will enable Winchester Science Centre to grow reach and engagement, deepen impact and fulfil its charitable mission to inspire a lifetime of curiosity in science.
The role is part of the Commercial Operations team led by the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Head of Programming and Head of Visitor Experience. However, you will work with the wider leadership and their teams to ensure that both the community programme and on-site experience are insight-led, responsive to audience needs, and relevant to a wide range of segments. It plays a key role in championing access, equity and inclusion across all areas of the Charity’s work.
As we embark on a chapter of significant growth, you will play a pivotal role in identifying the audiences and ensuring they sit at the heart of our decision making. You will work with key stakeholders across the business, including our Children’s Voice, to ensure the Charity can achieve its commercial and impact objectives. At the heart of that conversation is a deep understanding of our audiences through geo-demographic and / or psychographic audience segmentation, that you will lead on.

· Lead the organisation’s audience strategy, embedding a data-led approach that informs programme development, marketing and wider organisational planning and offer.

Special Circumstances
There may be occasional work, meetings and events in evenings, early mornings and at weekends which will be compensated by time off in lieu. Additional overtime would be arranged only with agreement of both the employee and line manager. Occasional travel may be required.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives. We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.
Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.
The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team. You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.
35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year
Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 700 young people, and we have big ambitions to support over 1,000 children annually by 2030.

We'll be focusing on securing those larger, transformative grants that make a real difference to starting each year with a higher percentage of funding already secured.

Funder Research & Identification: Proactively researching and identifying new, high-potential funding opportunities that truly resonate with Scotty's mission and strategic priorities. This means using industry best practices and relationship building to find our perfect partners.

Proposal Development & Submission: Leading the end-to-end development of high-quality, persuasive grant applications. This involves crafting compelling narratives from the heart, developing robust budgets factoring in overheads, and ensuring timely submission.

Relationship Management & Stewardship: Building and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with both our existing and prospective funders. This means regular, personalised communication, sharing impactful updates and acting as a Scotty’s ambassador at funder events and meetings.

Grant Management & Reporting: Meticulously managing all stages of awarded grants, including careful financial tracking (using Salesforce), ensuring we always adhere to grant agreements, and compiling comprehensive, insightful end-of-project reports that truly demonstrate our impact and foster continued support.

Internal Collaboration: Working closely with our Families team, Finance Team, Comms Team and Fundraising Team to identify funding needs, gather powerful impact data, and ensure seamless delivery and awareness of all grant-funded activities. We work to weekly transparent Success Measures (3 key agreed metrics which help show we’ve had a great week and give leading and lagging indicators on how we’re doing), monthly and quarterly budget targets and short, daily and weekly team huddles to share good news, keep our culture forefront and ensure we can best support each other and deliver for the charity.

Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of grant opportunities, regularly tracking progress, and providing accurate forecasting to help us make smart, strategic decisions for our future.

Data Management: Ensuring all grant funding information, relationships, and communications are accurately inputted and updated on our charity’s CRM database (Salesforce). Keeping things tidy and organised is key for good governance.

Grants landscape: Staying abreast of the trends and developments in the grants and trusts sector, identifying new approaches and opportunities to enhance Scotty's fundraising efforts and keep us ahead of the curve.

Team Support: Providing a helping hand with administrative support to other areas of the charity if required. We're all good team players here at Scotty's, and we always support each other.
3-Month Goals:

Onboarding & Immersion: Dive deep and achieve a comprehensive understanding of Scotty’s operating system (The Scotty’s OS), our values, our behaviours, our mission, and the significant impact we have. This will happen through intro meetings with everyone on the team and a tailored onboarding program.

Grant Portfolio Audit & Handover: Conduct an audit of our existing grant portfolio, reviewing active grants, reporting schedules, and our funder relationships. We'll begin the handover process for existing relationships with the Head of Fundraising, ensuring a smooth transition.

Funder Engagement & Feedback: Reach out and initiate contact with at least 5 key existing funders. This is about listening, gathering their valuable feedback, understanding their priorities, and beginning to build those personal, trusting rapports.

Pipeline Initiation: Identify and qualify a minimum of 5 new potential grant-making organisations. We'll prioritise those who truly align with Scotty's mission and have the capacity for significant, multi-year funding – our future partners.

Income Target Ownership: Take full, enthusiastic ownership of ensuring we are on track to hit our existing grant budget lines. You'll provide regular and accurate forecasting, keeping us all informed and confident.

Role Purpose
As Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for generating sustainable income through our fundraising activities, along with ensuring that Beaumond House is continuously building strong relationships with our supporters, local businesses and wider community as part of our income generation strategy.
You will lead and support the Beaumond House fundraising team in developing sustainable income to help ensure our charitable work continues to make an impact in Newark and Sherwood for future generations.
Main Duties
- Responsible for devising, implementing, and developing innovative fundraising activity plans to ensure dependable sources of income for now and in the future.
- Work with your team, to build long-lasting relationships with our supporters, volunteers, businesses, grant makers and wider community.
- Manage the fundraising team operations and plan day-to-day activities.
- Ensure that all fundraising activity and donor communications is compliant and to best practice, keeping up to date with latest fundraising regulations.
- Work closely with senior leadership team, in particular Head of Retail and Head of Care to ensure joined-up fundraising campaigns are in place across the organisation.
- Working closely with Head of Finance to ensure all income is correctly categorised and allocated.
- Be responsible for ensuring donor data and relationship management communications are correctly populated within CRM system.
- Oversee our presence across online platforms, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and Beaumond House brand.
- Continuously track and report fundraising performance and budgets to Director of Income Generation and CEO, producing monthly and ad-hoc reports to support strategic decision making.
- Support in developing future strategies for income generation.
Operational and Management Duties
- Responsible line management of the Fundraising team, holding team-wide meetings, 1-2-1 sessions, annual appraisals and development plans. Creating a positive working environment within the department to enable all members of the team are productive and motivated.
- Mentor and coach members of the team, identify and support with development needs in team knowledge or experience, offering support and best practice advice.
- Delivering a tactical programme to ensure the successful implementation of fundraising plans and strategy, supporting each member of the fundraising team to meet their targets.
- Identify and clarify relationship overlaps between fundraising team members to ensure clarity for donors and supporters.
- Get involved and support the team with fundraising activities as required. Such as attending fundraising events and activities outside normal working hours, weekends and Bank Holidays when required.
- Support and encourage the team in working effectively with volunteers. Ensuring volunteers have purpose, feel valued, well supported and part of the Beaumond House team.
- Abide by organisational policies and practices, including the equal opportunities policy, confidentiality code and code of conduct.
- Ensure that every activity adheres to the health and safety procedures and guidelines, including carrying out risk assessments in line with policy.
- Hold regular meetings with the fundraising and wider hospice teams to ensure good practice and collaboration.

Strategic Support
- Maintain and build on the established brand of Beaumond House, maximising opportunities with local communities and outlets.
- Be the voice, and champion, of our supporters and donors throughout everything we do. Maintaining feedback through items such as supporter feedback groups.
- Champion innovation in income generation, identify emerging trends in philanthropy, digital fundraising and donor engagement.
- Prepare detailed income and expenditure forecasts and project schedules in line with the organisation’s objectives.
- Support in the development of future strategic projects and priorities with Senior Leadership Team.
- Prepare reports on fundraising performance for board and sub-committees as required.
Administration Duties
- Take responsibility for own administration, always completing to the highest and most thorough standards.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records using agreed systems, such as Xero, Beacon CRM and MS Office 365. Use these to set up and run reports to provide information.
- Support directly or via signposting for IT queries eg. Use of MS 365, Beacon CRM, Gift Aid.
- Respond in a timely manner to enquiries/queries.

What the job involves
We have an exciting opportunity to join our sector-leading Community Fundraising team as a Community Fundraising Executive.
We’re an ambitious charity with a bold mission and fantastic culture. As a key member of the Community Fundraising team, you’ll work alongside the Community Fundraising Managers, Executives and Co-ordinators to achieve the exciting growth plans in our new 3-year fundraising strategy.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on our DIY walking and cycling fundraising activity, which currently raises over £750k each year. • You’ll oversee all of Pact’s digital platforms, including our social media channels and websites, as well as those for the Prisoners’ Families Helpline. You will lead the creation and delivery of compelling content to engage and grow our audiences, ensuring a dynamic and consistent presence across both organic and paid-for channels.
• Marketing and branding will be central to your remit. You’ll lead the development of high-quality, accessible and inclusive marketing materials and publications that inspire and inform stakeholders, staff, volunteers and service users. You’ll ensure the organisation maintains a strong and coherent visual and written identity, and you’ll manage a library of media assets and case studies that bring our work to life. You will also offer trusted support and guidance to colleagues and volunteers promoting Pact’s services locally.
• A core part of the role will involve amplifying the voices of people with lived experience. You’ll oversee the regular generation of powerful case studies and service user stories to be shared across internal and external channels, always ensuring ethical and inclusive storytelling.
• You’ll also contribute to the planning and promotion of key organisational events, including staff and volunteer gatherings, stakeholder roundtables and receptions.
• Ultimately, you will be the guardian of the Pact brand and the leader of our communications culture – someone who empowers others, inspires creativity, and champions clear, compassionate communication at every level.
Person Specification
• You will have significant experience in a senior communications, PR or marketing leadership role, with a proven ability to develop and evaluate impactful strategies. You’ll be an exceptional communicator with a keen eye for storytelling and audience engagement, and you’ll have experience managing digital platforms and growing audiences through content innovation.
• Strong leadership and team management skills are essential, as is a collaborative, facilitative approach that brings out the best in others. You’ll need to be a confident relationship-builder, able to influence at senior levels and build trust with stakeholders, media, and partners.
• Ideally, you will bring experience or understanding of the voluntary, criminal justice or social justice sectors. A strong grasp of inclusive communication and accessibility standards is highly desirable, along with an ethical approach to storytelling that respects and amplifies lived experience.

Managing a team of five across fundraising, communications, special projects and data management, the successful applicant will lead the development of partnerships and campaigns to raise funds for Dementia Adventure’s unique work to support people with dementia and their carers to have a more active and fulfilled life by getting outdoors and experiencing the benefits of nature.
You will provide strategic leadership and direction for income generation through various fundraising disciplines and joint fundraising partnerships, ensuring the charity's diversification of funding and financial sustainability. Funding sources include major grantmakers, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, challenge events, and an individual giving campaign.
Hand in hand with leading fundraising, you will oversee the Communications team, supporting, developing and monitoring the communications strategy, associated budget, resources, systems, processes and operations. This will involve overseeing and directing a communications plan that promotes the work of Dementia Adventure to a broad range of audiences through various channels and campaigns, while also increasing online and social media presence.
Ideally, we would like the successful applicant to be able to come to the office in Essex at least once a week.
About you
We are looking for someone to join the charity’s Senior Leadership Team who will bring experience from their past successes and provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions in support of the Dementia Adventure business plan, charitable mission and objectives. The successful applicant will have a strong, successful track record of fundraising and/or other forms of income generation in the charity sector, including management, with proven experience in meeting financial and non-financial targets. You should be able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trusts and grant givers, corporates, major donors and other individuals. In addition, you should possess a strong understanding of marketing and communication principles and practices, as well as digital marketing and social media. You should also be confident in engaging audiences sensitively with real-life stories to demonstrate impact and create a compelling case for support.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising team. Community is at the heart of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, and our community fundraising team play a vital role in building relationships and raising funds across our community and catchment. As a Community Fundraiser you will enjoy working with people and supporting the community to maximise, they’re fundraising efforts for Shooting Star.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Senior Public Fundraising Manager and Head of Supporter Engagement on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development. This is an exciting role, in a growing team within a charity that makes a huge impact across our communities. We would welcome applications from candidates who have demonstrable experience in fundraising, marketing or sales, or transferable relationship management skills.
The post will be based at the hospice in Hampton, but you may need to travel extensively throughout Shooting Star Children’s Hospices catchment area and therefore it is essential you are a car owner and driver.
You may be required to attend events and meetings throughout the catchment area during weekends, early mornings or evenings and you should be prepared for this.
