Job description

About the role

The Head of Data role is a critical role for Breast Cancer Now. Sitting within the newly formed Fundraising, Communications and Engagement Department, the role will lead on all facets of our data work, including strategy, development and use of data across the organisation.

This is a complex, multi-faceted role with key responsibilities for leading the data team, completing the project to integrate our databases systems into one and collaborating to create an environment where the systems for support functions across the organisation (digital, finance, as well as data) can work most efficiently together.

The role is varied and fast paced, with technical, analysis and import and export leads and teams all reporting to the role, as well as taking on the significant project to move to one database. With a high-quality team to lead, the role is for someone with significant experience to take us forward to the next level in all areas, be that audience focussed insight driving decisions, long term infrastructure decisions and support, or optimisation in warehousing, importing and exporting.

About you

We are looking for a strategic leader with a clear vision for how data can support and develop an organisation. A multi-tasker, at home with conflicting priorities who thrives on a challenge, you will find lots of opportunity to make a big impact for people with Breast Cancer by driving forward our data programme.

The successful candidate will be a talented relationship builder, experienced in working across multiple stakeholders, who can take communicate effectively to a range of audiences and increase organisational understanding about complex data challenges. With technical teams and developers reporting to you, your understanding of development challenges and code will be strong, with a can-do attitude to help solve the problems we face.

About Us

We’re excited to announce that in April 2019, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now united to create one charity for everyone affected by breast cancer. From research to care, our new charity has people affected by the disease at its heart – providing support for today and hope for the future. United, we can carry out even more world-class research, provide even more life-changing support and campaign even more effectively for better services and care.

By bringing together our passion, energy, expertise, funds and networks, we will make greater progress in more effective ways to make sure that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and receive the support they need to live well.

Breast Cancer Now is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

Closing date for applications: 9.00am on Monday 10 August 2020.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 12 August 2020
