Overall role of the Network Coordinator

The Network Coordinator is part of a small team comprising of the Director, Head of Policy, Network Coordinator, Communications and Policy Assistant and volunteers.

The Network Coordinator role lies at the heart of the network ensuring it functions efficiently while leading our activities to support our members in their work on gender equality and women’s rights.  They work alongside women’s rights advocates and practitioners across a range of issues within the international development sector, while ensuring that the organisation runs smoothly.

Specifically, the role is to:

• Manage the network’s finances and funding processes
• Manage the administration of the Secretariat
• Coordinate support to the network’s members
• Coordinate support for the different branches of the network

Specific Tasks

1. Manage the network’s finances and funding processes

• Manage the finances and accounts including invoices, receipts, payments, book-keeping and quarterly budget updates and liaising with GADN’s accountants and payroll providers
• Complete all required financial reports and file tax returns
• Manage annual membership subscriptions
• Work with the Director in identifying and securing core grant funding
• Manage the administration of grant funding including invoices, activity monitoring, donor reports and relations with any sub-grantees

2. Manage the administration of the Secretariat

• Produce GADN’s Annual Review

The post is line managed by the Director. The Network Coordinator will also work closely with the Head of Policy, Communications and Policy Assistant, Co-Chairs of the Board, Treasurer, Working Group Chairs and members of the Advisory Group.

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
 

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. Duties and responsibilities

About MPE

Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is a pan-European organisation representing 52 myeloma and amyloidosis patient groups from over 33 European countries. It is registered as an international non-profit organisation under Belgian Law. A Board mainly composed of patients and caregivers is elected by the membership to oversee the strategy and governance of the organisation. MPE partners with academia, other patient organisations, industry and regulatory bodies where possible to understand more about what gaps exist within the myeloma landscape and how to best generate evidence on these. We work alongside MPE’s policy and access team to anticipate what questions need to be asked and what the data needs are for upcoming medicines approval processes.

Medact’s Movement Organiser will work alongside our Campaign Leads and Head of Movement Building to grow our movement, developing groups of healthcare workers into confident campaigners who can make a visible difference in the struggle for health justice and peace. As Fundraising Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring our supporters receive a positive and rewarding experience, as well as providing administration support for the fundraising team, including assisting on events and campaigns.

PR Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy, high-performing public relations team at a national charity caring for the NHS. Position: PR Manager

Location: Remote/flexible (must be able to work in Warwick and London offices occasionally)

Salary: £41,000 - 46,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role

The PR Manager plays a central role, working closely with the Head of Media to manage the public relations function of the charity. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute prominent and high impact national and regional media campaigns, to help people better understand the mission and take action to support it.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

· Generate regular, positive, proactive media coverage

· Proactively sell stories into the media as well as react to incoming enquiries

· Work with the Head of Media to develop impactful press strategies in line with the wider PR strategy

· Take a proactive approach to gathering NHS staff, member and supporter case studies

· Identify and develop high quality media pitches, spotting slots and opportunities and piggybacking on the news agenda where appropriate

· Build positive working relationships with target journalists

· Monitor and evaluate media coverage and PR activity, sharing coverage with key internal and external stakeholders

· Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the issues affecting the NHS, and the wider political environment support liaison with NHS England, DHSC and other bodies to build relationships and ensure alignment of messages

The role is a hybrid of office and home working, requiring occasional meetings at the Warwick office. The team also meets in London but this is flexible, depending on the location of the successful candidate.

About You

You will have experience working in public relations. You will have experience of leading successful PR media relations strategies, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be creative and passionate about delivering impactful work, with a proven ability to be highly organised and manage your own workload.

You will also have:

· Experience in developing and implementing media strategies for a high-profile organisation.

Your role will be to further develop and deliver a range of events and initiatives that the Harlequins Foundation offers to its supporters to help us to raise the funds we need to deliver our programmes. As the charitable arm of the Club, we deliver a variety of programmes aimed at achieving improved outcomes for education and employability, wellbeing and inclusion. The role will play a key part in delivering high-profile fundraising events while building the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and supporter types, being instrumental in delivering campaigns and events to engage new audiences with the Foundation’s purpose.

As a proactive and enthusiastic person, you'll need to be adept at managing multiple projects and events concurrently. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering events from Harlequins matchday activations to Foundation fundraising events.

You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

Key Responsibilites

• Support the development and delivery of a varied portfolio of events and fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Harlequins Foundation
