We are looking for an experienced Senior Philanthropy Manager to join us on a 12-month maternity cover contract to oversee our Major Donor programe. About the Role

In this new role, you will contribute to enhancing the finance function within a growing and dynamic international charitable foundation. The role will enable you to work and continue your professional development across many aspects of the finance function. 

You will play an important part in our finance team’s further growth and professionalisation as Mission 44 extends its reach as a charity working in multiple countries. You will have the opportunity to gain further hands-on experience in driving our day-to-day finance processes, while also leading key projects to enhance our systems and put in place effective financial management of our new US entity. 

This role forms part of our Operations Team, currently comprising our Chief Operating Officer, our Head of Finance and Operations (HoFO), our Chief of Staff, our People and Culture Manager and our Operations Officer. A key part of your role will be acting as finance business partner to our other teams - impact, fundraising and communications - and demonstrating a customer service mindset in helping them achieve their objectives.

We’re looking for a finance professional, newly-qualified or working towards a chartered accountant qualification, wanting to develop their skills and career in a comprehensive finance role and contribute to our mission of helping young people thrive.

Roles and Responsibilities

Accounting (40%)

• Oversee day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, for both the UK charity and the newly created US charity
• Ensure that accurate and comprehensive records of accounting evidence for all transactions are maintained
• Monitor cashflow
• Support the HoFO in the month-end process
• Oversee and control monthly payroll with external payroll provider
• Oversee and control VAT returns with external accountants
• Check monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Develop the purchase order system

Financial Planning & Analysis (35%)

• Support the HoFO in the preparation of the monthly management accounts
• Control all accounts payable in dialogue with budget holders
• Finance business partnering with budget holders and the Senior Leadership Team
• Control and account for the use of restricted funds, in alignment with donor requirements and with the Impact team
• Collaborate with the fundraising team to support forecasting and income tracking

Statutory accounts and audit (10%)

• Support the HoFO in the year-end processes
• Support the HoFO in the preparation of statutory accounts, supervising outsourced accountants
• Support audit requests
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including charity-specific requirements

Operations (15%)

• Responsible for the financial management of grant payments, in coordination with Grant Managers and Grant Budget Holders
• Drive good practice in procurement and manage the relationship with suppliers
• Support the wider Ops team in ad hoc projects and activities

Skills and experience

Essential

• Newly qualified or part qualified, working towards a chartered accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Able to be hands-on in a small finance team
• Able to drive relationships with outsourced accountants
• Fluent in using spreadsheets for financial information
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex financial data and concepts to non-finance staff and stakeholders to support decision-making

About the Legacy Manager role:

The Public Fundraising team are responsible for recruiting and stewarding new supporters in order to secure long-term income and growth. The fundraising team has real ambition to grow and develop, and Legacy and  In-memory giving will form a key part of these plans.

You will lead on the development and implementation of a new Legacy & In Memoriam fundraising strategy that will

support our vision to grow income in this area. To do this you will be an ambitious, confident and experienced Legacy fundraiser with a passion for excellent customer experience and a natural collaborator. You will be

great at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will work with teams across the charity to establish potential within our existing networks as well as reaching new audiences.

This is an opportunity to build and shape Legacy and In-mem giving at Royal voluntary service. You will be responsible for putting together plans to acquire new donors as well as building comprehensive stewardship plans for legacy pledgers and in-memoriam donors.  You will have experience of delivering legacy events, marketing and setting and meeting ambitious KPI’s.

The role will work closely with the Head of Public Fundraising, research and implementing other new Legacy and in memoriam opportunities. All legacy administration is handled externally.

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.

To help drive fundraising, we’re creating a new senior role: Supporter and Community Engagement Lead. This role will lead our supporter-led fundraising—covering regular giving, digital fundraising campaigns, community fundraising, and legacies—with a focus on expanding our donor base, improving supporter experience, and developing new, insight-led fundraising products.

This role will be a key strategic advisor and responsible for high-level planning conversations to WaterAid UKs largest income generating Directorate: Communications and Fundraising. As the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for helping shape the strategic direction of fundraising team. The key duties of the Senior Finance Business Partner are as follows:

• Owning relationships with key senior stakeholders within the Communications and Fundraising Directorate.

The successful candidate will have:

• Completed a professional accounting qualification or be part-qualified with relevant professional experience.

• Ability to analyse large quantities of data with a view to identifying trends and key drivers.
• Adaptability to build effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues and work in a collaborative way.

This is a full-time, permanent role paying a salary of £34,000 - £37,500 per annum and the postholder will be working in a hybrid model from their offices in London.

The Trusts, and Foundations Manager will be responsible for preparing applications to trusts, foundations, statutory funders and cultural institutes in line with agreed priorities and strategy. Reporting to the Head of Trusts, Foundations & Government, you will deliver in collaboration the trust fundraising strategy and identify and research opportunities to build active pipelines of new trust prospects for Serpentine projects.    

The selected candidate will have a demonstrable track record of securing grants from trusts, foundations and other grant-making bodies and will have extensive experience of developing grant funding bids, evaluation reports and project budgets. You will have outstanding ability to write compelling and concise grant fundraising materials drawing upon diverse forms of information and data.

SUMMARY OF ROLE
 
The External Affairs Coordinator is a key member of RABI’s newly established External Affairs department. Reporting to the Head of External Affairs, the role will support the delivery of RABI’s external affairs strategy by coordinating key stakeholder engagement activities, public affairs events, policy-related communications and administrative functions.
 
This position will play a central role in supporting strategic relationships with key sector stakeholders, government officials and policy influencers. It also involves close collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team to help ensure that the voice of the farming community is amplified and represented consistently across all external channels.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Stakeholder Engagement and Mapping

• Support the Head of External Affairs in developing and maintaining an accurate and dynamic stakeholder map.
• Working with the Public Affairs advisor, coordinate briefing documents and meeting logistics with external stakeholders including government departments, MPs offices and sector partners.
• Help track and manage follow-ups and ongoing engagement with RABI’s key stakeholders.

 
Event Planning and Support

• Assist in the planning and delivery of external affairs events such as roundtables, parliamentary briefings, and conferences.
• Coordinate event logistics including venue booking, travel, catering, AV, materials and briefings.
• Liaise with external partners, speakers and attendees to ensure smooth and professional event delivery.
• Provide on-site support at events, representing RABI with professionalism and warmth.

 
Administrative and Research Support

• Support the Head of External Affairs with briefings and preparation of presentations and reports.
• Monitor political, policy and sector developments to support timely insights and briefing material.
• Coordinate the administration of reports and policy consultations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using RABI’s CRM system (Microsoft Dynamics).

 
Marketing and Communications Collaboration

• Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to support the development and delivery of policy-related content for media, social, digital and print platforms.
• Help prepare stakeholder newsletters, updates and event communications.
• Ensure all content and messaging align with RABI’s brand values and strategic objectives.

 
PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Demonstrable experience in an administrative, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or policy coordination role.

About the Role

The Project Officer role is a new, varied position within the central Strategy, Planning and Change team, supporting the delivery of projects in our Future Foundation Programme, which is our internal change programme making the Foundation fit for the future.

You will also lead our influencing efforts, working with key stakeholders and policymakers to drive lasting change.

Our Data Operations Managers sit within Product and Systems Management team.

Our Data Operations Managers have a key role in ensuring our end to end processes are working through our central CRM system. These processes include the processing of our income through the system such as Gift Aid, regular giving and special events, Direct Debits.

This role also ensures our end to end data flows are fit for purpose and that data within it are clean, accessible and available.

This role is responsible for:

• Custodian of our CRM data and responsible for major data import/export into the system including data validation, de-duplication, cleansing and fixing of data throughout the multiple data systems.
• Responsible for the curation and management of import and export routines of key fundraising data using appropriate tools.
• Responsible for forming and managing how the functions work within the Organisation to build key relationships with key data users to ensure data is correctly ingested
• Responsible for defining and setting standards and principles of data use in the system and fully enforcing these principles across the Organisation and to suppliers.
• Maintenance of legacy systems and processes where necessary

For this role we’re looking for:

• SQL (SSIS, SSRS) knowledge
• Knowledge of Dynamics CRM 365 and associated technology
• Working knowledge of KingswaySoft
• Knowledge of deduplication techniques
• Proven data management skills and experience
