The Crisis Alternative Service Manager role sits within our Adult Services, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and service development, of a portfolio of services. Namely (but subject to change):
- Safe Space Community
- Safe Space ED
- Hounslow Helpline
- Nova Roots (Forensic Community Hub)
One large service you will be responsible for is our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is a tri-borough out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm – 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. You will be responsible for managing peripatetic teams: we currently have 3 in person Safe Spaces and based in 3 A&E.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
The Role
The role of the Crisis Alternative Service Manager will provide operational management, mobilisation and service development of all Crisis Services within Adult Services. The ideal candidate will have experience of mobilising and developing high quality, large services. In addition to managing and supporting staff working within challenging environments and experience of working with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The Service Manager will hold all operational risk.
Excellent organisation and decision-making skills are essential for this role, as it requires being able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and work unsupervised during evenings and weekends. You will also be required to be rostered into the on-call rota.
The Crisis Alternative Service Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services and will be proficient at communicating effectively with staff at all levels, a wide range of key stakeholders and service users. They will ensure the service is well resourced from a staffing perspective and embed high-quality operational plans and processes.
They will be responsible for the delivery, progression and continual improvement of the service. They will have responsibility for ensuring Crisis Services operate in line with organisational H&S processes and procedures, HFEH Mind policies and CQC requirements.

Role Summary
The Fundraising team is responsible for establishing and stewarding national donor relationships with high net-worth individuals, Trusts and Foundations, and some corporate partnerships. This is a relatively new team with an exciting challenge; to imbed exceptional new business and donor stewardship practices into the charity’s way of working. Having had the ongoing generous support of a single donor for many years, the team has worked on diversifying the charity’s income and is looking to grow and build on these relationships and develop new and more income generating partnerships.
The interim Head of Philanthropy will report into the Director of Fundraising (currently being recruited) and will be responsible for managing a Philanthropy Manager and the Donor Relations Manager. Further investment in this vital team is also planned. The Director of Fundraising will sit on the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:
- Research, qualify and actively seek out new funding opportunities, establishing and ultimately managing a dynamic flow of prospects. Demonstrating clear, timely progression in a pipeline portfolio.
- Develop relationships with donors and other major funding partners, raising high-value, multi-year donations.
- Build relationships with new and existing senior volunteers including members of our Board, providing support to the (fundraising) Development Committee to advance prospect and donor relationships.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure our funders see the impact of their support and are kept updated about ways for them to stay and increase their involvement.
- Work in partnership with the Development and Programme Directorates to ensure joined up solutions are in place and a seamless customer partner journeys are in place.
- Write persuasive proposals, reports and other engagement materials that clearly communicate the impact and importance of a donor’s commitment to our work.
- Pitch compelling partnership opportunities through presentations, visits, and personal conversations with potential donors.
- Use and update the CRM system (Salesforce) to ensure new business and donor activity reflect work being undertaken and progression of all relationships.

This position will help us take the next big step up in how we engage with and serve our customers. Stewardship offers a broad range of services to the Christian community – Accounts Examination, Payroll Bureau, Charity Formation, Consultancy Helpline, Lending, a giving platform and Philanthropy Services. The role is based within the Ministries: Vocations and Worship (MVW) team of the Connexional Team of the Methodist Church in Britain, which exists to equip the Methodist Church by training, developing and supporting those called by God to serve in lay and ordained ministry embedding the strategies which support the Church’s aspiration to be inclusive, justice seeking, evangelistic and growing.
Within the team, the DLM will be responsible for:
• working with the Head of Ministries and Learning and in collaboration with others with regards to learning and development for all forms of authorised ministry in the Church’s life

Role description
Results has a long and successful history of engaging with UK parliamentarians around international development issues and providing them with the briefings and questions they need to raise these issues in parliament. As the Parliamentary Advocacy Officer for Education, you will lead our parliamentary work on education issues in line with our new strategy and commitment to equity. You will have a good understanding of how the UK Parliament works and how to engage parliamentarians in our issues.
You will lead relationships with UK parliamentarians around global education, including providing the Secretariat for the APPG Global Education.
Key responsibilities
Parliamentary advocacy
● Working with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and others in the organisation to develop and implement a high impact and politically astute advocacy strategy for global education.
● Alongside the specific global education strategy, contribute to the development of Results’ overarching parliamentary advocacy strategy, working closely with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and other members of the team.
● Lead on the parliamentary work on global education for Results UK, by building and strengthening relationships with MPs and Peers that result in their championing the end of poverty, specifically the importance of global education, and building support for the key elements of strong national education systems.
● Provide the secretariat function to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Global Education. The APPG secretariat/coordinator function includes guiding the Group’s work programme and activities, arranging meetings and events, corresponding with the APPG Officers and Members, briefing MPs and Peers to ask questions or speak in parliamentary debates and representing the Group externally, for example with the FCDO, Global Partnership for Education, Education Cannot Wait and others.
● Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Parliamentary Delegations to other countries and advocacy tours to the UK, working with the relevant Policy Advocacy Officer and others in the Parliamentary Team.
● Work closely with the Grassroots Advocacy Team to ensure parliamentary and grassroots campaigning activity is coordinated and the greatest impact is achieved between the relationships our grassroots campaigners build with their local MPs, and the work led from the office to support MPs in Parliament.
● Ensure our parliamentary advocacy and relationships always remain non-partisan and cross-party, in line with our charitable aims and objectives.
Partners and coalitions
● Liaise with other global Results organisations, to coordinate our parliamentary advocacy at a global level.
● Work closely with civil society and other partner organisations and allies in the UK to coordinate parliamentary advocacy in the UK.
● Represent Results UK in global coalitions and consortia, such as Send My Friend to School (SMF), the FLN (Functional Literacy and Numeracy) Hub and others as agreed with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy.
● Identify and develop new partnerships in line with our new strategy and our focus on equity.
Communications and media
● Where capacity allows, identify media opportunities and support media activity (including traditional and social media) related to global education.
● Contribute content to Results UK’s website, blog and social media to help achieve our organisational objectives and strengthen our brand presence.
● Publicise the APPG's activities, primarily through its website and twitter account.
● Represent Results at external meetings and events in relation to global education advocacy.
Organisational Development
● Carry out effective monitoring, evaluation and learning of your work, recording activity and outcomes that enables Results UK to measure its success, in addition to measuring the impact of your activities towards these outcomes.
● Be a key part of Results UK’s organisational development by participating in strategic discussions, evaluations, sharing your experience and ideas, and working flexibly to support other staff as required.

Person specification

JOB PROFILE
Reporting to the UK Head of Communications and Giving (HC&G), you will be at the forefront of demonstrating to the public how Afghanaid is changing lives in Afghanistan, and raise awareness of key issues communities we work with are facing. You will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s media and PR strategy, building out Afghanaid’s capacity to pitch stories, field opportunities, cultivate a strong network of journalists and high profile supporters, and ultimately secure coverage and opportunities that drive the success of the organisation’s campaigns and heighten Afghanaid’s credibility and profile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Media and Public Relations
- Design and action an annual Media and PR strategy based on wider team and organisational goals;
- Conceptualise and deliver strategic earned media campaigns, supporting the HC&G to execute and maximise the success of multi-channel campaign development and execution;
- Proactively identify, pitch and advocate for compelling stories, strategically engaging with journalists to expand message reach and ensure brand integrity;
- Field inbound media inquiries, liaising with journalists and colleagues to maximise opportunities;
- Craft and distribute timely press releases, comments, and statements;
- Work with colleagues to cultivate a strong spokesperson team, with a particular focus on developing Afghanaid’s thought leadership;

KEEN London is a small but growing charity. Our vision is that every child has the chance to enjoy sports and leisure activities and none are left behind due to disability. Demand for our service is high: currently, over 100 families across London are members of the KEEN family and we provide over 4,000 hours of supported care every year to disabled children, who we call our ‘athletes’. We're seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team in the role of Brent Service Coordinator. This position plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of our unique, beloved 1:1 sessions for children with additional needs. We're looking for someone who is not only self-motivated and highly organised but also possesses experience working with disabled children in various settings, including play, educational, or social care, with a specific focus on autism and learning disabilities. Your passion for providing top-quality activity and support services to our children and families is paramount.
Every week during term time, children aged 5-11 attend our 90-minute KEEN London sports and games sessions, where they receive personalised support from our dedicated team of volunteer coaches. Our Brent site is the newest addition to the KEEN London community and you'll play a crucial role in its continual development. We have just completed our two year pilot and are looking for a candidate to build on this foundation. As the Brent Service Coordinator, you'll be solely responsible for the front line delivery of the Brent service: planning, safety, and creating a fun and inclusive environment for all. This will involve working closely with our athletes and their families, supervising our team of volunteer coaches and engaging with the local community. Additionally, you'll oversee the organisation and execution of off-site trips and contribute to the organisation of our annual residential trip.
You'll be working closely with our Head of Operations and Fundraising Manager to capture our impact and promote our services effectively. Hours: Part-time, 21 hours, to include every Saturday (9:30 am - 14:30 pm) during school terms (and some outside term time).
Salary: £27,300 pa, pro rata’d (£16,380 for 21 hours)

Responsibilities:
Delivery of core services
● Ensure the safe and effective running of weekend activity sessions in your area of London (every Saturday during term time)
● Ensure the safe and effective running of other services in development
● Plan, risk assess and deliver offsite trips
● Act as Child Protection Officer and First Aider for activities in your area
● Manage the session and lead volunteers in the delivery of a varied programme of activities
● Contribute to the development and delivery of new services
Service Delivery Admin
● Analyse attendance, service delivery and impact data
● Communicate with families about upcoming sessions and other information
● Update existing athlete profiles and create profiles for new athletes
● Proactively manage and prioritise the athlete waiting list
● Work to promote services in your local area
Volunteer Coordination
● Liaise with the Volunteer Manager regarding volunteer attendance
● Brief/debrief volunteers every session, including information on children, safeguarding and health & safety procedures
● Pair volunteers with athletes every week, matching volunteer experience with athletes' need
● Plan and deliver a high-quality activities programme for each weekend session
● Support Volunteer Manager to deliver volunteer training sessions on occasional weekday evenings

- Manage the working practice and support the development of team members within the Programmes team including direct line management of the x2 Senior Expedition Coordinators.
- Recruit and induct senior expedition leaders (Chief Leaders) with the support of the Programmes team.
- Act as the key contact for Chief Leaders during the planning phases of expedition programmes.
- Act as the first port of call for all queries relating to operational management.
- Support the Curriculum, Impact and Training Manager, in the management, planning and delivery of training events for both Leaders and Young Explorers.
- Support and guide Chief Leaders and wider expedition leader teams to develop robust and developmental operational plans.
- Contract efficiently and liaise effectively with third-party providers in-country to ensure logistical plans and support is in place to develop programme itineraries.
- Recruit and assess high quality and appropriately skilled volunteer leader teams for upcoming expeditions.
- Support the Head of Programmes and Expeditions to develop expedition budgets and forecast expenditure to inform future planning.
- Manage processes and relationships with team members and external providers to ensure cost-effective practice.
- Support senior expedition leaders to deliver expeditions on budget.
- Manage the process of reconciliation following the return of our programmes.
- Review and develop organisational policies and operating procedures to ensure and maintain best practice, working with Technical Advisors as appropriate.
- Liaise with external auditors as appropriate to ensure compliance with BSI 8848, AALA and the Learning Outside the Classroom quality assurance criteria.
- Support expedition Chief Leaders and colleagues to develop risk and incident management protocols appropriate for the expedition location and client group.
- Participate in the Operations Sub-Committee and main board meetings with trustees as necessary.
- Represent the charity as an ambassador in a range of public fora.
- The Expedition Manager may be delegated responsibility for the oversight and development of specific process areas as appropriate.
- Liaise with external suppliers to arrange and review annual staff training for the Duty Operations team.
- Be ‘on call’ during operational periods as part of a duty rota.
- Act as Senior Duty Officer to lead, manage and coordinate responses to field incidents or crises.
