We are looking for a Senior Trusts and Philanthropy Manager with an inspiring national social welfare charity, to be responsible for the philanthropic donations from Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, and Statutory Funders.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days a week in the London office.

A long standing national charity, dedicated to providing life long support from advice services to rehabilitation. They have a staff of c1,500 people securing over 150m last year.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Supporter Development, this position puts you at the helm of a dynamic team of four, overseeing relationships with Major Donors, Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funders.

Your strategic leadership will be crucial in implementing the new Mid Value donor program, ensuring not only short-term cash growth but also long-term legacy pledges.

In this key position, you'll shape the donor experience, maximising engagement through tailored stewardship plans and unique opportunities.

You will manage a portfolio of high value donors, providing compelling and engaging cultivation and stewardship plans, cases for support and impact reporting.

Manage the formal budgeting and planning process for the team to ensure sound investment of resources, accurate planning and reporting.

The Candidate
A substantial track record working with high-net-worth individuals and charitable Trusts, along with strategic planning and budget management skills.

As a leader, your ability to motivate and develop your team is paramount, ensuring each member contributes effectively to the organisation's goals.

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee the delivery of our Regular Giving programmes and will also manage relationships with high-level donors to identify and securing major gifts.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Administrator to assist the Executive Director: Finance and Resources with completing administration and payroll tasks to ensure a smooth running Finance Team.

You will administer aspects of donations and income, post donations received into our CRM system liaising with the Director of Fundraising, conduct Gift Aid claims, generate reports and utilise the CDS system to ensure all data is correctly entered and support given to all administrators.

You will administer the payroll and receipt system. Additionally, you will reconcile all costs, generate invoices and check that timesheets, holidays and absence are recorded correctly. This role requires you to work Monday to Friday but you must be willing to be flexible as and when required.

You must have a minimum of five A*-C GCSE passes, including Mathematics and English (or equivalent). Additionally, good IT skills, especially in Excel and administrative, recording and reporting skills are essential for this role.

The Role 

This is a newly created opportunity for you to support all aspects of bid writing, grant applications, and responding to tenders at Best Beginnings. This will include collaborating with colleagues and partners to develop and execute engaging applications to a range of funders to support our work. 

You will be a confident writer, able to communicate the value of our work clearly and succinctly, ideally with previous experience writing and/or assisting with grant and bid proposals. Experience in the charity sector is not essential but highly desired. 

Working with the Head of Fundraising, you will focus on identifying new funding opportunities, planning approaches, gathering information, and writing high quality, compelling applications, to generate additional income for us to further develop our services. 

You will also be identifying appropriate funding sources for organisations we support, providing them with guidance on writing high quality applications, planning their year, and developing a suite of resources with the communications team to enable this. 

You will need experience of writing content and developing applications to large and small funding bodies. You will be able to evidence securing income and be skilled in presenting complex project information in a clear and engaging way.

This role will require the successful candidate to support to the Head of Audit, Risk & Governance in the implementation and oversight of effective risk management and assurance policies and procedures for the whole organisation.

Role Requirements

 You will attend the Audit & Risk Committee and other board committees from time to time to present on risk and assurance.  With experience of delivering 2nd line risk and assurance activities within large, complex or heavily regulated organisation, you will be effective in building professional relationships and influencing and collaborating with colleagues from all disciplines and at all levels. 

You will need to engage effectively with frontline and support colleagues to really understand the needs of our beneficiaries and the risks to the charity more broadly.  The ultimate objective of risk management at The Children’s Trust is to ensure the charity continues to deliver high-quality, safe and effective and financially sustainable services for vulnerable children now and in the longer-term.

Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

To achieve this, our mission is to be there for everyone on their lifelong adventure with gardening.  In the last decade alone we’ve taken on the largest hands-on project the RHS has ever tackled by opening the new RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford, Greater Manchester, and invested in the science that underpins all our work by building RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science, at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey. 

As part of our new strategy, we have six key priorities which include a commitment to deliver science solutions for people, gardens and nature, by rooting science across all our work to meet our social and environmental goals.  Another priority is to build horticulture for the future, by strengthening education, growing skills and networks, and championing sustainable practices. We have pledged to be net positive for nature and people by 2030. This reaches into every aspect of what we do, setting stretching sustainability targets for our own operations.

To support this new strategy and to develop our fundraising further, we are now looking for a proactive and experienced grants fundraiser to join our Development and Corporate Partnerships Team on a 12-month contract in a new and pivotal role.  During this initial 12 months you will be working to develop and implement a new plan which will significantly increase funding for our core scientific research from research bodies and other funding sources, develop support for our sustainability projects, and secure new institutional and government funding for our national education programmes.

Reporting into the Head of Trusts and Statutory Funding and based either at our headquarters in London, or at RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, you will work closely with our science and education departments, collaorating with colleagues to develop a strong pipeline of sustainable and long-term funding for our programmes, core activities and new initiatives.  You will be familiar with fundraising for scientific research and other core programmes and be able to utilise your existing experience and networks across a broad range of funding sectors.

The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is looking for an experienced and results-driven marketing professional with great know-how in marketing opportunities and managing agencies, and a commitment to women’s economic empowerment to join our team as Programme Marketing Manager for 12 months.

About the role

Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.

The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

The Role 
 
As our Communications Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of communications that contribute to increased brand awareness of the charity, demonstrate the charity’s expertise and impact, educate the public about cancer prevention, signs, symptoms and screening and support the generation of income for the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Plan, research, create and distribute creative media content, including press releases, blog posts, case studies and videos, to support research, services, cancer insight, fundraising, events, retail, corporate partnerships and campaigns. 

• Proactively seek, identify and engage in media opportunities, such as attending events, organising photo opportunities and meeting face-to-face with case studies.

• Manage third-party suppliers such as photographers and film production agencies, obtaining quotes, providing clear briefings and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

• Respond to press enquiries efficiently and to a high standard. Understand which media enquiries are appropriate for the charity’s brand and key messages and those which are not, so that the charity prioritises only those which are value-adding. 

• Organise TV, radio and press interview opportunities for the Chief Executive, Directors and Heads of. Prepare clear briefings for interviewees. 

• Demonstrate and convey professionalism at all times and represent the charity when communicating with the media, members of the public, volunteers and supporters to demonstrate the charity’s core values.

• Monitor and evaluate the charity’s media coverage and the digital impact of PR content, providing a monthly media clippings report. 

• Provide PR input to the charity’s Leadership Team, Board reports and performance dashboards. 

• Maintain continuous awareness of industry news and regularly update colleagues on key developments. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to a degree or equivalent level of education or have relevant experience in a similar role at a similar level. 

• Previous media experience, whether through journalism or a PR / in house media assistant role. 

• Experience in building relationships with colleagues and journalists and managing media opportunities such as interviews, broadcast opportunities and photocalls. 

• An ability to write compelling copy for multiple audiences, and media channels, often translating complicated information into a format that is easily understood by readers. 

• An agile media mind, able to spot the key storyline that will maximise the possibility of media coverage and attract the attention of the media. 

• An evaluative mindset, supporting continual improvement by analysing coverage and associated data from media activity. 

• An ability to keep a calm head when faced with a reactive media situation in a manner that best protects the reputation of the charity 

• A thoughtful and empathetic outlook, able to engage with people affected by cancer with sensitivity and respect.

Finance Officer

This is a full time role - Hybrid working with an expectation of weekly attendance to Head Office at Baynards Green, Nr. Bicester Oxfordshire.

Job Purpose:-

We are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Finance this new role will ensure that appropriate financial processes and systems are followed and developed to support our charity’s sustainable growth and safeguard our financial health.

The Finance Officer will ensure that financial tasks and transactions are undertaken in an efficient, effective and timely manner and, importantly, that relevant financial information is provided to keep the Head of Finance updated and informed, supporting the Leadership Team to make the best decisions for the charity.

We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join our supportive team. Previous charity finance knowledge is helpful but not essential, above all we want an individual to be tenacious, curious, diligent and show strong initiative.

Who are you?

You should be accomplished in Sage 50 Accounts and have considerable experience working in a finance function and in financial administration.

Some experience of working with Salesforce or an equivalent CRM database and an accountancy qualification or studying towards a professional qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or AAT qualified. Experience of working in the Voluntary Sector, paid or unpaid would be great.

You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills (a natural ability to clearly communicate financial information to those with a non-finance background). You need to have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience in database and payroll systems.

It would be amazing for you to have high level of attention to detail and methodical working, be a self-starter and be able to use initiative.

We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.
