Position: Trustee
Location: Trustee Board meetings and many of our charity’s activities take place in Dereham. In addition, some work may be required remotely using Zoom/ Teams, or in other parts of Norfolk from time to time.
Salary: This position is unpaid but reasonable expenses may be paid.
Responsibilities
This role is suited to candidates who can demonstrate professional or skills-based knowledge of benefit to the charity. We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience in the third sector, PR, fundraising, governance, risk management, management and law, and accountancy.

Training

We will customise a training and familiarisation package for the successful candidate based on prior knowledge and experience.

- Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to the senior leadership team and the trustee board.
What are we looking for?
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills: Head of fundraising needs to make regular presentations to trustees, senior managers or potential donors/sponsors and write winning fundraising applications.
- Networking/Relationship Management skills: Head of fundraising will be called upon to represent the organisation to corporates & donors and persuade them that their cause is one they should contribute to.
- Effective project management skills: Ability to lead and co-ordinate fundraising initiatives with the support of volunteers.
- Digital skills: The organisation is centred around mobile/online technology and the Head of fundraising will need to be adept at using these technologies and be aware of their fundraising potential.
- Innovation skills: Strong ideas about how to hit fundraising targets in this climate.
- Budget management skills: You need to be able to work effectively with limited resources.
Essential experience
- Proven track record in developing and delivering fundraising strategies
- Knowledge of good fundraising procedures for the voluntary sector
- Knowledge of current fundraising guidelines and legislation
- Proven ability in producing effective, and inspiring proposals and funding reports

Who are Newcastle Rugby Foundation?
Newcastle Rugby Foundation is the official charitable arm of Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder rugby teams. Our purpose is to make rugby the positive difference that changes lives for good.
Roles Available:
1. Trustee position (specialising in Education, health, or social inclusion): As a trustee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our charity, influencing regional and national policy, and contributing to our mission of using rugby as a force for positive change. No trustee experience or formal qualifications are necessary; we provide training and support for the right individual who shares our values and vision.
2. Marketing and commercial committee member: As a member of the marketing and commercial committee, you will work closely with the committee chair, supporting the development and execution of our marketing strategy. This voluntary role is not a trustee position but offers a valuable opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to a worthy cause.

MHA The Wilderness is a 7 acre heritage garden attached to MHA Hall Grange Care home in Croydon, London. The garden has been recently reclaimed and conserved. Our aim is to make it a peaceful haven for MHA Hall Grange residents, visitors, staff and local communities. As a Volunteer Gardener you will help our Head Gardener and other volunteers with the general upkeep of The Wilderness.
Main activities:
- You’ll be working with a small friendly team throughout The Wilderness garden to help with the general upkeep.
- You’ll do tasks such as; watering, weeding, stimming, cutting and propagating
- You’ll keep the grounds accessible for all with ongoing maintenance and clear areas for access throughout the seasons
- You’ll be familiar with and to adhere MHA’s Health and Safety Policies and policies relating to your volunteering role.

We need our volunteers to be:

What training and support will be provided:
- We will provide you with a full induction for the role
- Training on safeguarding, health and safety and other training and updating of skills and knowledge relevant to the role as appropriate
- Ongoing support from a named contact
- Out of pocket expenses in accordance with MHA’s Expenses Policy
Times and Commitment
- Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays from 10am-1pm. We could also arrange alterative days based on your availability with prior agreement with the Head Gardener.
- We ask you to be able to commit on a regular basis
- We ask that you make a minimum of six months commitment to this role
